  • On July 9th 2022, we spent a morning on the Essex Terminal Railway in Windsor, ON with the goal of documenting this little-known shortline. The ETR serves as the backbone of Windsor's industrial scene with several customers along it's mainline through the heart of Windsor and spurs reaching the distillery near the Windsor VIA station and as far south as Amherstburg. Join us as we chase the ETR's Weekend Job through the Automotive Capital of Canada and go into detail about their operations, including interchange with CN and CP, mainline operations and yard switching. Thanks to everyone for 300 subscribers and enjoy!
A complete list of locations and times will be added here soon.

I live in Windsor and its amazing how powerful those engines are 💪💪. I love going to the tracks where the trains come out of Detroit and they're starting off. I absolutely love the power the CP engines and taking videos of them starting off

Awesome video! Apparently there are rumours about Amtrak running on the ETR line in 2026, not sure if it’s true. It would be extraordinarily rare.

Who owned the line originally before ETR took it over?

It was actually ETR owned for its entire existence, ETR is one of the oldest currently operating railways in Canada being formed in 1902.
