Fantastic! As I learn more about ying yang balance and essence the more I realize that my personality and mannerisms have been greatly impacted by my ballet and opera training and as a result, I've chosen demure, reserved, classic styles that reflected the areas and communities I lived in and participated in. The older I've gotten, the more free I've become with myself and I no longer restrict what I want to wear based on what others have told me or the style that I feel should mirror my lifestyle. So so fascinating! Thank you for another wonderful video xx
This biased emotional approach annoys me in many aspects. I have huge respect for his work and what he created especially bodygeometry wise and to think what suits different people and why, but he really takes this whole essence aspect too far.
kidaria yeah, i don’t personally like the essence part. as another comment mentioned before, most, if not all NBA players are FN. does that mean they all share the same essence? hell no lol. same thing for other IDs.
I watch a lot of ballet and something I’ve noticed is that the overall “essence” of a company often corresponds to the physicality of its dancers. Bolshoi Ballet has a very dramatic style and tends to favor tall, angular ballerinas. East Asian companies generally have a softer, more ethereal style and all the prima ballerinas are Romantics (or Gamines). In the Americas, the vibe is more natural and Naturals are favored. Just an observation.
Naturals are more popular in America period. It is in the dating world (American men seem to be drawn to Naturals), clothing (most of the clothing in retail stores in the U.S. fit Natural body types), and Hollywood (most popular American actresses are Naturals).
Désirée Johnson most American men look for overseas beauty, more petite and rounded, more yin. Latinas, Asians are also their essence is more delicate.
I believe that essence does not equal personality. I have explored Kibbe because I wanted to define my personal style and always make an impression anytime I’m in the room. I’m a dramatic classic, and I love that I can play on the sort of dryness and moderation in my body to look very put together all the time. And this type is considered to be more demure in essence. I love that I can embody that essence and then at the same time still be myself. Still joke around, be a pleasant, flirtatious, silly person when I feel like it. Because my style essence is not my personality and who I am as a person will always be greater than the clothing and styles that I wear. A romantic who wears frills and sheer dresses can still have a serious intellectual conversation; a dramatic wearing her sharpened elongated lines can still be sexy and fun. Women contain multitudes!
I agree with you. When I look at people around me, they could have same body type but they still have different essences and personalities Body type just plays a small part in an impression and essence, but hardly in personality
I loved your words at the end. You’re so emotionally intelligent and articulate yourself so beautifully. I really don’t know how teenagers navigate on social media because I am an adult and find it very intense at times. I deleted my personal Instagram this year and feel much better for it. But we’re all different, of course xxx
I’m 16 and I don’t know how they do it either 😂 I think cutting back on social media really helps tho. It’s like there’s so many voices that you can’t find your own until you’re by yourself and then it’s like a tiny whisper and then it gets a bit louder till one day you hear yourself clearly (or I assume that’s what’ll happen in the end. Haven’t gotten there yet 😂)
I'm a firm believer on this: Your physical features do not necessarily have any bearing on your personality. Others may perceive or pre-judge you as having a certain personality based on your physical body, but that does not mean you are that thing. A tall woman is not necessarily 'strong.' A short woman is not necessarily 'fragile.' Conventionally attractive people are not necessarily 'good'. These are common stereotypes. So, I am VERY skeptical of this aspect of Kibbe's system. Matching your clothing the lines of your body in order to look harmonized is one thing - photos of people wearing their lines immediately won me over to that aspect. However, assuming all gamines are 'fun' or all classics are 'elegant' is simply inaccurate.
I believe it’s what your physical appearance conveys to others (like a first impression by just looking at you without talking to you), however yes you can definitely have a different personality from what only your lines and face tell others.
Consider this: people will treat you a certain way based on their preconceived notions regarding your appearance, so that will affect your personality. If people are always treating you like you're strong, you'd begin to feel as though you're strong, right? This is exactly why it's advised that children with ears that stick out should get them surgically 'fixed', because data (at least before) showed that those children are more likely to have lower self esteem, psychological issues, even lower IQ. This is because of how protruding ears were presented at the time (late 1800s up until idk when). It's not cuz protruding ears changes your brain to make you behave a certain way; people's behaviour towards you changes your own behaviour. BUT stigma against protruding ears doesn't seem to happen anymore, and I just read an article that claims protruding ears are now considered cute on kids!
But how others perceive you still affects you. You don't exist isolated from your environment, environment affects you. As someone who has changed a lot physically over the years, I know how much looks can make people treat you completely differently. Personality is not the same as essence, but they are not unrelated.
@@burpie3258 that's true, but I just find it very sad that people would treat someone differently just based on their looks...That preconceived notions actually hold so much weight in social interactions, almost as if you have to accept it. Personally, I would recommend fighting and going against people's assumptions if someone feels they are different from how they actually look.
@@Amanda-ke8gt I agree! I was just stating what I see happens, but yeah I really hate it and wish people would be more aware of their biases regarding appearance! Many people don't even realize they treat pretty people differently compared to 'ugly' people, for example...
It is so easy to become envious of other types. We are all so different. This was very hard for me as a young girl. I am a classic so I always felt like I needed to ADD more. That I was too boring on my own. Not true! I look forward to more videos I loved this one❤
Yes, same here!! I am mainly classic, but with a touch of drama - not obvious drama, but not invisible either. And I actually find that fits my personal style very well. It tends to be, well, classic/feminine, but with a touch of edge/drama. No need to ad lots of crazy things, when it is not aligned with your body type. :)
The essence aspect is the only thing I disagree hard with kibbe or at least the way he is overdoing it. Yes the way how a body is built transports a certain essence but your personality can still be very different and the charisma because of that can corrupt the essence of the body. And what he interprets in personality only because of your ID type like seeming artistic, creative or whatever is really out of proportion. The video itself and how the topic is adressed and presented is of course well made as always :)
I think in Kibbe’s FB group he stopped paying attention to essence too much. He also doesn’t count the face into typing anymore. Makes sense because the book is almost 40 years old
Kibbe has been making improvements to his system. He stopped conflating body lines with essence, which is heavily influenced by the face and personality. Strictly kibbe Facebook group has the latest. It’s much less confusing now.
I love Aly's outlook about body image, identity and being a woman in this world. You're a role model for women across all countries, languages and cultures worldwide.
“The majority of those Hollywood movies are being filmed about you guys. Every person is a star of their own life, of their own story” This is so profound it really hit me! You have such a beautiful emotional maturity about you and a talent for articulation! Thank you for your vids, each one brings me closer to peace with my body image 🤎
Hey, I'm a soft gamine who tried to wear different characters for a long time because I liked how they looked on other people. I'm finally coming back to what I think makes ME look myself and I'm a lot more satisfied than I have been in a long time. I really think we look the most full of life when we recognize and start to value what makes us, *us*. Maybe that's also the INFP talking, lol. Thank you for this video ! 💕
yeah but it really is not easy to realise who you are, what you like and value. It is process and requires time and skills of reflection. And if you once found it, it can change over the years.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time! I don't know if this would be much help, but I do think big oversized sweaters and things like that would look very cute and soft on your body type! Especially in gentle colors like cream or ivory. Maybe you could express your love of detail with your jewelry? Earrings, necklaces? Though I know not everybody likes wearing it. I hope you'll find a way to be comfortable soon, we all should feel good in our clothes : )
I love how you concluded this video. I was getting lost so I skipped to the conclusion after my kibbe (Classic). Stopping with the role models is amazing advice. You just elevated your wisdom and helpfulness to me❣️
I'm crazy about the soft, dusky pink lipstick and the misty dove grey eyeshadow you wear. It really enhances your features and I think those shades are absolutely gorgeous on you. I like doing my makeup that way, too! I think you inspired me. It's a great look, and I really appreciate the empowering advice you give here. I'm learning a lot about true style, thank you.
Aly, you're such an inspiration! You're the reason why I decided to speak about Kibbe's system in Spanish. Thanks to you, I came across Kibbe's guide and everything made sense. I understood why I can't pull off the romantic style at all. Thank you for your content!
I love you so much Aly. Thank you for this channel, I have grown to love myself after watching you like I never did before and you are the one responsible for it. Lots of love ❤️
I think great great example is Angelina Jolie and I think that balance of her femminine and masculine traits is what makes her so desireble...just like Sofia Vergara, Miley Cyrus etc.
I think that the main questions are: to what extent does your essence or the "vibe" you give reflect your personality or some aspects of it? And to what extent does your body type shape your personality? In my opinion, our body shape has an influence on our personality, we adapt to it, we react to it and it makes people react and treat us in a specific way. But I don't think our essence or our vibe necessarily reflects our personality. It can reflect it if your vibe or essence is self-created: your fashion choices, the way you style your hair, it does create your vibe, and tells about how you want the world to see you. Nevertheless, if you don't style yourself, you're "au natural", then I would say that your vibe might not necessarily reflect your personality.
I agree with you -I think there is a correlation between esscence and body type because your physicality will affect how others percieve you and how you percieve yourself but your body is not the only thing that determines your esscence.
You almost made me cry❤️so refreshing to hear someone say this about "finding yourself"..hello, we are all already here! And thats a GOOD thing!☀️ one of your best talks Aly💓🐾 My only wish is videos more often🥰
I do agree that yin/yang balance does have an affect on your movements, general vibe and essence. maybe not so much personality, as that is a whole other thing imo. I have observed very yang women, FN and D mostly, who give off such a powerful and bold, audacious vibe, though they may have a shy personality, their vibe is still very confident. And I am very yin (R or TR) and I do get told I come off as very feminine, electric and charming and also hv leadership qualities. (not to sound self obsessed lol) but then again its the essence and vibe. not personality. personality can be many things. In personality, I would say i am quite different than my vibe/essence. so yes, yin/yang does give off a certain vibe but doesn't mean that is your personality.
Wow! I loved the second half of this video! Please talk more on this subject of essence and self love and being yourself because I think EVERYONE struggles with this
I loved the way you described “trying on” other personalities like an item of clothing. I see now as I’m trying to readjust myself in several ways where there were behaviors I was kind of mimicking or wearing, that I became kind of stuck with which are not fully me.
I felt insecure about myself and my life, personality, but you helped me sooo much. I just get so much relaxation from you videos. You educated me a lot of things! I love you ❣️
Very well said. 👏🏽 I love that you mentioned how much people are hooked on trying out what they think they should be. Nothing wrong with trying to discover what works for you, but it's best not to compare too much or decide that you should be this or that because it's popular. Do what's right for you. Use suggestions as guides not strict rules. ❤
I really love the new video by Elyssa on Yin/Yang outside of the Strictly Kibbe perspective. Also helps a lot with seeing Essence outside of the types.
Wow thank you for this video makes me realize the reason why sometimes It seems to me like I don’t know myself anymore. This made me found out that it was just because I was persuading myself to believe and fit in an image and a mindset of someone else who wasn’t me.
Art. Essence. Beauty. Truth. Discovery. Out of all your amazing videos, I think I like this one the best. You are addressing the basic, deep, profound motivation we are all subconsciously listening to: "Who am I, and how shall I express my true self?" Please keep videos like this coming.
As a theatrical romantic, he seemed to over-do the description a wee bit. Ladies, don't let Kibbe make you feel like one type is better than the other. All are uniquely beautiful, and these descriptions aren't always accurate. (to be frank, I lack elegance and grace haha)
Aly, I want to say a huge thank you for making all these great videos with the very thoughtful pictures, for all the effort you put into them. It helped me a lot to figure out my own body image, and thinking about body images of people I know in real life which is so interesting and I still learn so much.
In all honesty, I have been watching your video on and off for a year now! I had a hard time figuring out my Type! And the last part of your video really puts it perfectly into words as to why !!! I really got to see myself better the more I watched videos as yours and other people that are just so loving and positive without judgement to the many ways a person , but especially a women can look and be!!!!! I never personally realized how much I was implemented with other people's and societies idea of beauty! I always thought I was very "free and independent" without a care to how I look and dress! Why that might have been true, I got to really realize from your Video, that I still judged myself ! But not for the way I looked, but for that look I could never achieve! I thought it was my own shortcoming that I couldn't look like that! That's why I always acted as if I didn't care! But because of a lot of positive content such as yours I got to realize that I maybe should change the idea of beauty and with that the idea of femininity I was raised on! So really a huge thank you Aly , to you and the lovely community you have here on your platform !
I’ve never liked the advice of “finding yourself” like what does that even mean. Like you said you’re already here right now. I think you have to create the person you want to be not just sit and wait (tried that nothing happened 😂) I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with “borrowing” parts of other ppl and trying them on for size. After all, no one is truly unique we all have our influences. It’s about refining those influences so it’s in line with our values that’ll change over time. If we are a painting then i guess it’s about taking the canvas that has been painted on by our external factors e.g. Society, family friends and trying to mix some new colours new shapes that we can borrow from other artists to create our own beautiful masterpiece 🖼
Jacquline Ard i definitely agree that contemplation and introspection is an important part of “finding” one’s self a lot of growth occurs as a result of this process as laborious as it can be 😂
I absolutely love your videos and your explanation of the kibbe types I honestly feel so much like myself when I follow the guidelines for my body type thank you for showing us and we are all unique and beautiful in our own way.... so much love for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Aly! I am so happy and feel so blessed to have come across your channel when I did. Everything you are saying makes perfect sense. And honestly it’s so hard to explain but... well it just makes sense!!! Around the same time I found your videos I deleted my Instagram and other social media such as Snapchat that makes you feel way too involved in other people’s business. And it just all came together for me! I do have role models but somehow truly knowing myself makes it so easy to pick the RIGHT role models, ones that I just feel that connection to. When I look at them I just want to be more like them. And I don’t know how but it just all plays so well with my Kibbe type and who I want to be and who I am and everything! My soul and my body and my style just feel so in harmony and I just wanted to thank you for being such a huge part of that journey. Now, I’ve been going through a rough patch of anxiety that’s caused me to lose confidence and get caught up in fear... and when you looked straight through the screen and said “I *know* that you already know who you are,” that was just a God send. I felt like you were talking directly to me. Thank you for reminding me that I DO know myself, and that I HAVE been myself! Love you Aly, God bless! ❤️
I've now watched the whole video and I'm so touched by Aly's speech and how she's inspiring us to be ourselves! She's definitely helping me to come to terms with who I am and how I look, so much so that I've recently finally been loving my body. As a soft natural, I look innocent, and I also feel innocent in many ways, but I always thought of it as a flaw. I had the impression that I have to look sexy all the time, and "sexy" is just not who I am! 🤕 So now I'm finally loving the idea of being *and* looking "innocent" no matter what! Kibbe calls it "appealing innocent essence" and that sounds great to me... :)
Of course, dear, I'll try to help, if I can! 😊 Soft Natual is of average height: not too short, not too tall. She's has a muscular body and is not womanly, but at the same time she has some soft flesh and rounder face features. Her most prominent feature is the width of her bones. Wider shoulders and wider face. Her bones don't have sharp edges, her bones are also not rounded, they're blunt. Her clothing lines are a bit longer, a bit loose, but with waist emphasis. Not too large, not too wide or chunky, not to intricate or small, not too stiff. I personally prefer tailored dresses and coats to wider ones, though, because I don't want to look too casual, even though that's not recommended for my body type. 😇 That's all I can think of at this moment. I hope it helps you figure out your body type. :)
@@Analysis_Paralysis thank you for your input! But I just want to ask how tall are you? Because I'm 5 ft7 and when my sister did the kibbe for me to get a second opinion I got soft classic body but soft natural facial features so I'm very confused. Though I do believe I'm soft natural cos my bones do appear wider and more blunt.
Thank you for this video, Aly! You are so right about young girls (and boys as well) being insecure about themselves and letting themselves being influenced from different sides. We should all embrace our individual nature, body and character and nurture that instead of being this or that that we think others will appreciate. So important for teenagers to learn it early on.
This was really interesting to see the differences in essence/personality/the aura a person gives off. Also thank you for that chat at the end of the video :) that was really nice & I appreciate that a lot.
Hmm, I wonder if essence is more to do with how we respond to others view of ourselves. For example: a gamine would seem “brassy” if treated like a kid...because they look childlike. A Dramatic would behave as such being taller and looked up to often, a romantic would be aware of their own curves, while a classic, with totally balanced features would be less worried about their looks and therefore are in general relaxed and confident. We do behave how we dress to an extent. The body types are synonymous with such distinctions in clothing it would be hard not to in some way take on the qualities of what we are wearing. For example: it would be hard to emote “depressed” while wearing a bumble bee print top if you’re gamine, or to appear to be “uptight” in the loose, flowy lines of a natural.
A topic very close to my heart! I’m watching a sad story where a 35-year-old friend persistently follows Monroe’s style. She's a soft gamine. And all these “mom’s clothes”, “ridiculous appearance”, “the feeling that she is trying too hard to be sensual and romantic” - I see it. At the same time, she notices that for some reason it DOESN'T WORK. But just try to tell her that the fact is that she is trying to “fit into someone else’s image” - immediately there will be resentment and accusations that she is being devalued! Well. I hope she finds herself.
I do agree with kibbe... Our physicality do have an effect on our essence in life and I've noticed this in my friends all my life how different they were even with their physicality ; for me i can say for sure my soft classic body has actually shaped my essence in life from the very beginning.
Hi Aly... thanks for the video. I thoroughly enjoyed your viewpoint on the subject of essence, beautifully and eloquently articulated. Nice point on the superstar thing too. I would add that True Individuality (which is of higher integrity, and of greater energetic potency) will almost necessitate that you will become accessible to a narrower group of people. This is simply because that, in a world that still rejects honesty and individuality, true individuals trigger the shit out of people, as it activates their own learned rejection of themselves! Individuals encourages individual uniqueness, and most of us have a lot of shit around acknowledging and living-as that uniqueness. Slightly disappointed (but not surprised) by people in the comments with a great deal of negativity. I feel much of the negativity is a reflection of the people writing the comments themselves, quite honestly. Everyone, of course Kibbe will write more about TRs, because he has more direct experience with it being himself a TR along with his wife - the woman who he literally loves - duh! If you are taking that to mean he is suggesting one if better over the other... er, no - thats YOU projecting some twist of your own self-rejection onto him. Do you really want to be playing the game of assumption like that? I would invite for a little more honesty in recognising where you may be holding insecurity towards yourself (or at very least making snap judgments). I have empathy for this naturally, there is a journey of course to be had with coming to a Love for ourselves and the body, but it isn't to excuse irresponsibility in projecting insecurity into assumptive and negative discourse. Now, on the subject of essence, I suggest you consider it this way: the essence described here is a *baseline* essence of the body type, but is not inclusive of the individuality of someone. This is very similar in astrology, actually, where the 'houses' originally belong to a particular sign, and so the houses hold those traits of that sign. However, in an individual's chart, their house may be connected to a completely different sign than the original, and so it has more influence - but it is LAYERED over the baseline characteristics of the original sign. For example, 4th house associated with cancer, and thus concerned with home affairs and family foundations. You may have LEO in your forth house, however. In which case, the traits of Leo will be emphasised WITHIN THE THEMES (cancer base) of the forth house. I hope that can sort of make sense, it was the most immediate comparison that came to me. The overall point is that what Kibbe is describing are skeletal elements, and fleshing them out is 100% concerned with the uniqueness of any individual. No system is going to represent a perfect reflection of you, guys. Seriously, not possible. If you want to play more with essence, I recommend Rachel from truth-is-beauty. com which has some great prompters, as well as Olga's ethereals from getthelook. These present some intricate ways to explore essence and archetypes a little further. 💖 Stay tender.
Loved this, very helpful! The videos were great, seeing each type and the way they move, I can definitely see their essence even better with their movements, facial expressions, etc. thank you! I also understand what you are saying about trying on different personality characteristics. I think when we see someone who is expressing their true essence it is more appealing to us, and we sort of experiment with being the same way. If that’s not our essence, it doesn’t work for us and sometimes we are confused as to why it doesn’t work. We can pretend with those personality aspects but how we express ourselves when we aren’t trying something on, THAT is when we’re being true to ourselves and are therefore most appealing.
Nice video, Aly. Related to this topic, I really liked Merriam Style's video, 'Are Classics BORING and Gamines FUN?!' because I think it illustrated clearly how one can honour their yin/yang while also letting their unique personality show through their style. In my opinion, while I think it was a fun and confidence-boosting element of David Kibbe's book to say that anyone can dress as the lead character in their own life story, it's also important to remember that we are so much more than a Hollywood archetype or celebrity persona. People don't fit into neat little boxes.
Thank you for sharing your understanding of Kibbe. It might not be your essence to go a little slower so I just remembered I can adjust the playback speed and now I can take in the what you're sharing at my speed ;). I didn't want to miss anything!
I don’t know how you ended up preaching on this video but I LOVED it 💙🙏🏽😢 You don’t need to “find” yourself that just makes you feel lost - you’re already here and you just need to ACCEPT yourself.
Great video..I have the book and open it often. Years ago I went to the Kibbe salon and had a work up and makeover type day. Expensive (at the time for me!) but so fun and interesting and saved me so much money over the years because I finally had a direction and concept. Wonderful experience. I am a classic/dramatic and live my truth! It’s so funny, but when you find your style it just feels like you can breathe! You don’t make the wrong choices anymore. Sometimes I would be attracted to something that is not my style, but when I put it on it’s like wearing a hair suit! LOL The book is a great reference..
Everyone else: It is the overall combination... TR: Soft yin, with a slight yang undercurrent. Initially, you are artistic, sensitive, eerely magnetic and extraordinary charming. -yin. As a hidden attraction you possess stily resolve drive, enormous will and a bold, creative and inovative outlook on life. -yang Damn you, David 🙄😂
I am following your channel for a long time now, I love your content! I've watched all your videos on body types, did the test multiple times compared myself to the examples, tried to look at my body from different perspectives aaaaand I still have NO CLUE what body type I am. I feel like I've learned a lot from your videos though and you changed my outlook on style and beauty :)
Sadly I've changed who I was. As a kid I loved dresses and dainty, girly things. As I got older I felt that in order to be taken serious and fight for what I wanted I had to dress more masculine. Lots of pants and baggy t-shirts. Don't show my curves because I didn't want the attention. While I still love girly things and love dresses, I'm not comfortable in that now and would never wear anything like that, except maybe with a pair of leggings. I don't like how I changed who I was just to fit in and be taken seriously. Now I feel like I'm stuck like this and being anything different is uncomfortable or if I want to wear my hair a certain way or make a change, that people will think I'm trying to be like someone else, when in reality I've always liked that style and just thought it wasn't me.
That’s hard :/ the best advice I can give you is become more comfortable with receiving criticism from others. If you want to look a certain way because you feel it better fits who you are, that’s more important than someone else’s perception of who they think you should be. Easier said than done I know, but if you start gradually changing one small thing at a time, like wearing small stud earrings or a simple bracelet and not adding anything else for a couple weeks to a month, it can feel more manageable. Something that really helped me is if someone tells you something you’re wearing is weird, keep wearing it. They’re not going to keep telling you that same thing is weird everyday because that would just get super repetitive. Eventually they’re going to realize “oh, this is what she does now, guess mentioning it doesn’t do anything” And will stop talking about it. Hope this helps a bit, I’m rooting for you!
@@wouldntyouliketoknow7099 That's a great idea to start small and do little by little. Thank you for the suggestions and taking time to respond to my comment. Aww thank you for the encouragement. God bless you. ♥ ^_^
You are amazing ! I normally won’t watch RUclips channel but I am so tune to yours !!!! Yes indeed the Pandemic help me to give me a lot of time to see your Chanel! Look forward to seeing your Chanel ❣️
Based on a few of your videos (body types, height types, and this essence video) I’ve thought I’m maybe Dramatic Classic with all of them! Not sure for certain, but it’s the one that seems most to fit! These are so fascinating, thanks for doing them!
I noticed those kind of comments on your recent videos too, and I'm honestly triggered....You've just spoken my thoughts Ally, couldn't be better than this. Thankyou! PS: pardon my broken English.
This is so true, even in the fashion community we get all this advice that basically wants us all to look like tall hourglasses! But monochrome is not for me, sharp lines and heavy fabrics are just not for me, and definitely long lines are not for me - no matter how much I would like them to be. And then I ask myself: why would I want to be something I am not? I think that most of us naturally know what fits us best because we have this sense of geometry in our minds that comes from nature, but trends and advice make us lose faith in our own styles!
Have any of you read the Truth is Beauty blog? I love Aly's videos and watch them all the time, but I've found this style system works better for me. I'd love to hear her opinion on what she thinks of ingenue and ethereal and the idea of mainly dressing for your face instead of your body. Like I said, this works for me, but I know a lot of people are iffy about it.
I’m a TR and his description is 100% true I don’t get why some girls are so offended by it A lot of people always neglects TR as if they are not good enough or not important as R TR are a bit more complicated that’s why his description is a bit long in my opinion The mix of both yin and yang in TR and SD is complicated And as the topics is about essence So he had to explain a bit more I mean look at people like Salma Haik and tell me what can you feel Sexy ,bold ,soft ,dangerous, strong ,fragile ...... the essence they have is so complicated And it’s a struggle when you are a young girl to know who and what you are I went through it and I can now appreciate the essence I have after being an adult
Well he's a TR and tbh I think it would be nice to see more analysis on 'softer' male body types because most of the time if they are not tall and 'manly' they are not considered good-looking.
@@corina.grindeanu There are definitely men who are not manly looking and who are still considered good looking. Example: male Korean pop stars! But yes, this is not the norm.
@@burpie3258 male korean pop stars are mostly considered attractive by koreans maybe japanese and chinese people, but in other countries they are "too short", "not ripped enough" etc. And other men drag them down for not having facial hair. It's quite sad.

His love for theatrical romantics is very clear lol
Probably because himself and his wife are both TR
tell me about it
This biased emotional approach annoys me in many aspects.
Lol yea I am theatrical romantic, and even I noticed.
That's really interesting! Thank you for the information!
I've noticed that too.
Naturals are more popular in America period. It is in the dating world (American men seem to be drawn to Naturals), clothing (most of the clothing in retail stores in the U.S. fit Natural body types), and Hollywood (most popular American actresses are Naturals).
I'm a professional ballerina and I disagree, you are just mention an stereotype
Well said. It is about working with your presentation of self, but it does not define the self.
The personality is something moldable, the essence its not
What you are talking about is the "mood" or the "personality". This is about "Essence" which cant be changed :)
I agree with you. When I look at people around me, they could have same body type but they still have different essences and personalities
Body type just plays a small part in an impression and essence, but hardly in personality
Lovely comment! 💕
We don't have to limit ourselves to just one aspect of our being. :)
We aren't two-dimensional creatures.
Seems all of his romantic energy went right into the theatrical romantic description 😂 we got 3 words 💀😭
For real lol and we're already kind of overshadowed by TR, I always see them talked about more 🙃

@@kyleetijamo460 yes, I think so too) also he is a theatrical romantic too

I’m aware of all that I just don’t understand why that would result in romantics getting dust 🤣🤣 I’m just kidding guys 😘
It is so easy to become envious of other types. We are all so different. This was very hard for me as a young girl. I am a classic so I always felt like I needed to ADD more. That I was too boring on my own. Not true! I look forward to more videos I loved this one❤
SAME!!!
Relatable
I just found out i'm a classic..
Where does this "Boring" thing come from?!
We are balanced between yin and yang.. Is balance boring?
@@NaryHayas lol according to kibbe we are sophisticated and chic 😊
The video itself and how the topic is adressed and presented is of course well made as always :)
exactly, it makes no sense to me.
Vibe yes spirit personality not always
I think in Kibbe’s FB group he stopped paying attention to essence too much. He also doesn’t count the face into typing anymore. Makes sense because the book is almost 40 years old
Kibbe has been making improvements to his system. He stopped conflating body lines with essence, which is heavily influenced by the face and personality. Strictly kibbe Facebook group has the latest. It’s much less confusing now.
"Every one of you is a star of your own movie." A beautiful message, Aly!
lol romantics get such a short "description". Not blaming, you, Aly, I know this is straight from the source, but damn.
Also soft classics :(
I love Aly's outlook about body image, identity and being a woman in this world. You're a role model for women across all countries, languages and cultures worldwide.
“The majority of those Hollywood movies are being filmed about you guys. Every person is a star of their own life, of their own story”
This is so profound it really hit me!
I think it fits our personalities well!! : )
Haha wow, soft gamine and INFP here too :)!
I'm a FN and an INFP, and often I don't know how to incorporate my dreaming, soft personality and love of detail into my style :/
yeah but it really is not easy to realise who you are, what you like and value.
You are an absolute genius!!!! I mean it in the most literal sense of the word.
I love how you concluded this video. I was getting lost so I skipped to the conclusion after my kibbe (Classic). Stopping with the role models is amazing advice. You just elevated your wisdom and helpfulness to me❣️
The part about finding yourself was therapy i didn’t know i needed. I’d love more videos like that about adhering more to your ‘Essence’
Same! She's an intelligent woman who is kind enough to share her wisdom with us.
Yes! She's spreading a very positive message! Thankyou Aly!
Thank you aly! I learned many things from you! And you help me to overcome my insecurities. Thank you.
You almost made me cry❤️so refreshing to hear someone say this about "finding yourself"..hello, we are all already here! And thats a GOOD thing!☀️
one of your best talks Aly💓🐾
My only wish is videos more often🥰
Very accurate and smart observations, Aly. I would love to be able to put my hands on this book, but your analysis is as good as it gets . Excellent!

Thank you, Aly! Another great, thought-provoking video!
I love you ❣️
"The whole idea of finding yourself is ridiculous, because you're already here." This is so damn wise. ♥️

Can you please do an in-depth difference between Romantic & Soft Gamine?!
Art. Essence. Beauty. Truth. Discovery. Out of all your amazing videos, I think I like this one the best. You are addressing the basic, deep, profound motivation we are all subconsciously listening to: "Who am I, and how shall I express my true self?" Please keep videos like this coming.
One of the best videos of Aly. Want to know more about essence.
As a theatrical romantic, he seemed to over-do the description a wee bit. Ladies, don't let Kibbe make you feel like one type is better than the other. All are uniquely beautiful, and these descriptions aren't always accurate. (to be frank, I lack elegance and grace haha)
No he doesn't want to say something about other types he's not sure about because he type is tr so he's more familiar with this type
@@fairysnow8279 it just seems that he shouldn't gloss over the others as well, cause he's the expert, right? idk, dude.
Agreed . Me being a theatrical romantic and still clumsy as f 🥺 but I agree with the other points.
💕💕💗🙌✨✨
This is my favourite comment, like ever.
Jacquline Ard i definitely agree that contemplation and introspection is an important part of “finding” one’s self a lot of growth occurs as a result of this process as laborious as it can be 😂
Yeah good thought
I absolutely love your videos and your explanation of the kibbe types I honestly feel so much like myself when I follow the guidelines for my body type thank you for showing us and we are all unique and beautiful in our own way.... so much love for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much for your words!! as a 17 year old girl, it was really comforting to hear this words
I'm so excited about this topic, I just spilled my glass of water on the bed sheet... 😩
@@Analysis_Paralysis hi I think I'm also a soft natural but I'm not sure. Can you give me advice on how you determine being a soft natural?😊
Of course, dear, I'll try to help, if I can! 😊
Soft Natual is of average height: not too short, not too tall.
That's all I can think of at this moment.
I'm 1,65 cm. Soft Naturals are 5'7 and smaller than 5'7.
love the depth of your analysis. Thanks for inspiring women to relax and be who they are, and love who they are. We need this so much nowadays.
I think you are really on to something. Please explore more. We all trying out best to look our best but also want to be loved
I love how you word topics like this. Your videos are definitely helping me accept my body and face the way it is. Thank you!!
Loved how you're talking about that we should all find our true self! 💫
A fascinating subject you're talking about. Great video!
Your videos have changed my life! I look so much better and feel like myself because of your content!
Finally after a year of researching this, I found my type! Hallelujah :D much credit goes to Aly, thank you!
Aly’s hair is so shiny and silky, it’s soo pretty
Appreciate your cautiouness about taking about essences! 👍👍😊😊😊😊💗💗💗
Very accurate observation. Thank you so much Aly for sharing this video!! I have been waiting so long for this video.
I don’t know how you ended up preaching on this video but I LOVED it 💙🙏🏽😢
You don’t need to “find” yourself that just makes you feel lost - you’re already here and you just need to ACCEPT yourself.
LOL
The book is a great reference..
-yang
Damn you, David 🙄😂
I am following your channel for a long time now, I love your content! I've watched all your videos on body types, did the test multiple times compared myself to the examples, tried to look at my body from different perspectives aaaaand I still have NO CLUE what body type I am.
I feel like I've learned a lot from your videos though and you changed my outlook on style and beauty :)
I loved this video, reminding us of the message and ownership and agency in our own lives.
Aly, I've been binge watching since I found you and after this video I am sure you are a genius, thank you!!!!
i really appreciated that bit at the end🙏🏾 it was very raw and genuine✨❤
V aw of course 😊 no problem at all
Thank you! You are so kind, helping to love and accept ourselves! Many thanks wonderful lady for your positive vibes 💜
Aly, you're my only true coach!
Love being a SD 👁️👄👁️ bold masculinity with sensual feminity
SD is the most sensual body type there is!
I find SD the most attractive both in men and women
1.Nails for body type
2. red hair for skin type
3. soft dramatic vs other body types
Amazing, Aly! Thank you for helping myself and others to find and express our personal truth!
Well, one of the best videos, I have seen nowadays. Very helpful and relaxing. Thank you!
thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! i really enjoyed watching this:)
This is starting touch philosophical levels, and I am so here for it! :D
You are amazing ! I normally won’t watch RUclips channel but I am so tune to yours !!!! Yes indeed the Pandemic help me to give me a lot of time to see your Chanel! Look forward to seeing your Chanel ❣️
Love what you talked about at the end - looking forward to the next video!
Very meaningful video Aly, thank you!
Based on a few of your videos (body types, height types, and this essence video) I’ve thought I’m maybe Dramatic Classic with all of them! Not sure for certain, but it’s the one that seems most to fit! These are so fascinating, thanks for doing them!
I enjoy the Kibbe body type system very much, but the essence stuff doesn't work for me. I'm a TR and I'm nothing of the sort.
Yes please do more about essence !!! Loved it !
I noticed those kind of comments on your recent videos too, and I'm honestly triggered....You've just spoken my thoughts Ally, couldn't be better than this. Thankyou!
PS: pardon my broken English.
You are so inspiring! Thank you, Aly!
Love that you used video clips for the examples 😍
Aly, could you please do a video on taylor swift, she is suposedly a dramatic but seems so flamboyant natural in her essence, what are your thoughts??
This is so true, even in the fashion community we get all this advice that basically wants us all to look like tall hourglasses! But monochrome is not for me, sharp lines and heavy fabrics are just not for me, and definitely long lines are not for me - no matter how much I would like them to be. And then I ask myself: why would I want to be something I am not? I think that most of us naturally know what fits us best because we have this sense of geometry in our minds that comes from nature, but trends and advice make us lose faith in our own styles!
Aly, I've been a fan for a long time, but this is one of your best videos ever. Compliments to you! =))
I’m a TR and his description is 100% true
I don’t get why some girls are so offended by it
A lot of people always neglects TR as if they are not good enough or not important as R
TR are a bit more complicated that’s why his description is a bit long in my opinion
The mix of both yin and yang in TR and SD is complicated
And as the topics is about essence
So he had to explain a bit more
I mean look at people like Salma Haik and tell me what can you feel
Sexy ,bold ,soft ,dangerous, strong ,fragile ......
the essence they have is so complicated
And it’s a struggle when you are a young girl to know who and what you are
I went through it and I can now appreciate the essence I have after being an adult
you are always so inspiring
lmao david clearly has a preference for yin body types 😭
typical of a guy
People can make researchers on his theories to dig more details
so don't worry somebody else may find more about yang body type also
Well he's a TR and tbh I think it would be nice to see more analysis on 'softer' male body types because most of the time if they are not tall and 'manly' they are not considered good-looking.
