A beautiful and well-balanced answer from an Imām of our times - may Allāh shower him with His Mercy and grant al-Firdauws Al-'Alā - āmīn.
Just one point regarding the translation:
The wording of the Ḥadīth used by Imām al-Albānī رحمه الله was, "خير الناس قرني", "the best of the people are my generation"; however the translation reads, "the best of generations..."
In terms of meaning this is fine - however, that specific wording, "the best of generations", has been shown by Scholars of Ḥadīth to be incorrect and baseless, and even Imām al-Albānī رحمه الله has stressed that point in several places.
So, may Allāh bless you all and preserve you - if that can be corrected, for the sake of being precise in what we attribute to the Prophet ﷺ, then that would be best.
بارك الله فيكم وجزاكم الله خيرًا في الدارين.

It's very clear to follow the respected Sahabas, the generation that came after them, and the generation after them. Full stop!!! ⛔ No “ifs” no “buts”.

So to not blindly follow a madhab we have to make sure that it doesn’t contradict the sunnah?

If it becomes clear to you later that a particular position in that Madh-hab is incorrect and the truth is with a different Imam or Companion then you have to follow the textual evidence with all due respect to the Imam whose school of thought you are studying. So you don't blindfollow the school of thought that you are studying in the affair where it is clear to you that texts dictate otherwise.

@@zk9541 I've heard that following a madhab is not just following a single imam. Rather, it's following a methodology of fiqh that has been reviewed and corrected throughout the centuries by many scholars who ascribed to that particular madhab. Great scholars who of every century have checked, strengthened/weakened, and revised the issues of fiqh which may have not been so clear in the past. So, how can Shaykh al Albani رحمة الله عليه come along and say that it's following a single imam and that it may oppose the Sunnah? Please clarify akhi.

@@ibnMuharis. Firstly, Shaykh al-Albani in this clip spoke about studying a school of thought and in fact he even allowed blindfollowing it, so of course that necessitates he is saying to study the speech of the different Imams that contributed to that school of thought.
Secondly, the methodology of those schools goes back to first and foremost to actual fatawa of those scholars and the types of evidences that they used and the principles they used in understanding the evidences. You will find it difficult to find an opinion within the 4 schools of thought that is not on the opinion of the Imam himself or a qiyas (analogy) based on his fatawa.
Yes, within a school of thought there will be a discussion amongst themselves on an issue where there is more than one opinion reported on that scholar or an issue where there is no nas (text) from the Imam but even that is discussion will back on the principles of what is the madh-hab of that particular Imam for the most part. So yes, it revolve around following one particular Imām.
Thirdly, it is irrelevant whether a person is blindfollowing one Imam or 50 of them. If it clear to you that the hadith necessitates otherwise and a group of the Salaf held this opinion upon is to follow the truth and that is following the one who is closest to the Sunnah. Shaykh al-Albani in fact brought a statement from a Hanafi scholar, al-Laknawi, in this clip as a relates to this issue.
There is no one man after the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم who encompassed all of the truth, and you will find it hard to find a school of thought that was 100 percent correct in every issue that they spoke of. The proof for this is that is the scholars of that particular school themselves differed with each other. On the topic of eating camel meat there are 2 authentic hadith that indicate it breaks breaks wudhu yet out of the 4 Imams only Ahmad held that opinion and there maybe an opinion where Ahmad is alone in it and the truth is with other 3 Imams - bearing in mind khilaf is not limited to the 4 Imams as anyone who has read a book on Fiqh al-Muqārin will tell you. But the point is the truth is not entirely encompassed by one man or one school and neither are infallible so it is obligatory to follow the text if the truth is found with another Imam.

Some imams misuse & misquote mathhabs.
I have seen ppl attribute mawlid to mathhabs if I recall, though that started like 200 years after imam Ahmad passed.

Salafi also blind follow example sheikh albani had certain usul al hadith he did taqleed on and salafi do taqleed on albani and other hadith authenticity including Bukhari which no ordinary layman can do

Shaykh al-Albani said in the beginning he has no problem with blindfollowing, meaning taking the statement of a scholar without a proof. But if a proof is clear to you that contradicts your shaykh, then this is where the problem is. What do you think of the statement of the Hanafi scholar al-Laknawī in this affair that Shaykh al-Albani quoted 50 seconds from the beginning of the video.
As for Sahih al-Bukhari then the Ummah has agreed upon it's authenticity في الجملة, and the unanimous consensus is a proof so how is that taqlīd? Imam as-San'ānī in Irshad an-Nuqaad said regarding those who say you forbid Taqlid yet if Yahya bin Ma'in says so and so he is trustworthy you say he is trustworthy and if al-Bukhari says this hadith is sahih you say it is sahih. So as San'ani said this is not Taqlid, it is merely the acceptance of a trustworthy narrator.
As for Shaykh al-Albani, then where is the proof that all Salafis blindfollow Shaykh al-Albani in Usul al-Hadith? And where is the proof that Shaykh al-Albani blindly followed someone else in Usul al-Hadith and did not use his own ijtihad. Shaykh ibn Baz was Salafi but he disagreed with Shaykh al-Albani in some of Hadith, likewise Shaykh Muqbil from Yemen and Shaykh Badi ad Din Shah as-Sindi from Pakistan. Look how many Salafi scholars differed with Shaykh al-Albani on the issue of the Niqāb due to differing with him in issues of Hadith etc?
Again not all forms of blindfollowing are blameworthy, and at the same time not all forms of blindfollowing are praiseworthy.
