I would've sent Ash, Dawn and Paul. Ash takes his Pikachu, Rowlett and Infernape, Dawn -Piplup, Quilava and Bounerry and Paul his Torterra, Ursaring and Electivire. Ash catches a Rufflet, Dawn a Petilil and Paul an Oshawott, all Evolve, same with Rowlett, Quilava and Ursaring.
Plot twist: Ursaluna gets lost at some point and ponint has to return without him. Once back to modern times Paul goes to Kitakami to get it back:-D

I hope there'll be voice acting in this upcoming series. Adaman and Irida finally got official voices in Pokémon Master EX, both Japanese & English.
If I may suggest, give Volo an actual defeat. Aside from Cyrus and Lysandre, the anime kinda fills down the villains and don’t get me started on the evil Legendaries being reduced to just “misunderstood”.
