Fun fact: Acacia probs deleted it bc she became a mommy/family blogger and recently left the internet due to her scamming people. She was selling insta presets advertised to be hers and actually stole them from an artist! She also has had controversy over how poorly she treated/treats her middle child, Rosie who is disabled.

The late 00s Emo Era to Hipster Starbucks Era to Tumblr Era to Coachella Beautyguru Era was such a SHAPING aspect of my teen years. Like literally from being 10 years old to adult. We went through PHASES. Idk so many iconic aesthetics happening in that time frame. And not enough money to explore any of them. I already feel too old to follow current trends - so sometimes I wish time could stand still and I could relive those old aesthetics, recreate them and overcome the Trauma. Lol.
Aw, you can totally still recreate the aesthetics if you want though! Why not live life to the fullest while you can lol
for real over the span of five years i went from band t shirts and arm sleeves to flower crowns, which evolved into the 1975 hipster era.... shit was so wild
and right after that ... the entire world of pop culture took a turn w soundcloud rap goin off and that was when we all started to grow up. i went into high school that year

Some of the Coachella Beautyguru Era is kind of endearing at least - back then we really got the Glam Neutral-Eye MakeUp (with so much TooFaced), deep self-tanning routine, hair extension application (Bellami), fake Tattoos, ripped Denim Jacket DIY and Shuffle Tutorial all in *ONE 40 Minute Video* that was called something like "Getting ready for Coachella Day 1" or "Date Night Glam - Get ready with Me". A PRODUCTION. Those girls really put on a whole cocktail dress, bought roses and got a glass of Prosecco just for the Outro and then turnt the night-out into a VLOG for the next day. Camp.

Very. I was too poor and kind of a L to really commit to a real aesthetic, also Im from a small town - so not much to see anyways. But I remember being "Emo"...Black hair, dark clothing with some neon in general, but very bootleg. Then a bit Hipster for a while...The Beanies, Nerd Glasses, Moustache Bracelet (This whole Era is just a blur of Lindsey Sterling Music Videos from the first Album to me and Skrillex - Summit Video...that Energy)...then I kinda fell off lol (which was a shame cuz Tumblr Grunge was literally RIGHT there)...no distinct style...then around 2016ish I kinda vibed with that understated beach/coast style (think Loud Luxury - Body or Calvin Harris - How deep is your Love Video).
Nowadays a mixture of Skater, Tomboy, Berlin Hipster..a bit all over the place. Have not rly found myself yet. Being an adult you also kind of start to embrace a "proper" normcore look for work and all...just "popular, classic looks - that are liked for being universialy flattering". Lol.

She married a man who basically groomed her, had a history of animal neglect and re-homing and has a daughter with a disability she completely neglects as well. She stopped posting on social media when she was caught stealing presets from another creator and sold them as her own work. Like this girl and her life is so wild, I hope brittany and sarah talk about it with the rise of 2014 and tumblr culture. its wild.

One thing about me is that when I was a sophomore in high school I posted a picture of the Two Faced Peach palette on my Snapchat story and captioned it “I want this so bad 😩” and a senior slid up and said “if I buy it will you go to prom with me?” And I said yes of course because I’m not stupid and to this day I still use it.

@@alexandracasey7903 it’s not about how pale you are , it’s about undertones. brittany is cool toned so all the reds and warm colors in modern renaissance clash with her skin :,) that’s why if you have cool undertones it might make you look like you’ve been crying. if you have cooler undertones, you look way better with blues, grays, greens, and just cool colors in general !
It only works for me because I have green eyes, I still look sickly but it looks intentional.

Modern Renaissance is to this day the only eye shadow palette I've ever owned. I am a pale girly, but I have pretty dark brown eyes and brows, so I think that helps. I also have pink undertones. That being said, I truly stick to about 5 shades on that palette. Mostly the brown shades and often pink for color. Sometimes I go for orange when I'm feeling wacky
eyeshadow pallets never expire if you refuse to believe they do
I left mine at my family’s house like 5 months ago and checked it last week, it grew green mold, it expired in 2020

i feel like so many people had that one (or more) makeup tutorial(s) that just never left their brain since the first time they watched it. For me it was two videos; Michelle Phan’s Miku and Barbie makeup tutorials, they live in my head rent free, not even a mortgage.
Michelle Phan’s paper bag curls video is permanently etched into my brain. Core memory. Stuck forever. What did I eat yesterday? Idk. But I know how to curl my hair with paper bags.

As someone in my mid-30s I'm so jealous of all of you who had RUclips to teach you how to do makeup. My "tutorials" were a Tyra Banks book called "Beauty Inside and Out" and this one girl at my school who I stared at while she put white liner all over her eyelids. That's it. Otherwise I was on my own.

I'm 32, I put 2 colors of eyeshadow on my lid junior year of highschool and one of my friends said "I wish I was good at makeup like you", it was like lime green and teal lol, that should not have boosted my confidence as much as it did. The way magazines gave beauty advice back then was just cruel
I’m 32 and didn’t own foundation until I was like 22. I over plucked my eyebrows but never even thought to wear makeup on them until after college.
@@nsuodulu1234 I can't thank my mom enough for supervising me while I was plucking my eyebrows as a teenager. I HATED it when I was a teen, but she did me a solid. I'm one of a few early 2000s teens whose eyebrows came out of that era unscathed.

I tried foundation a few times and it always looked so weird, like my skin sucked up all the moisture and I was just left with cakey finger marks on my face, it wasn't until I was introduced to primer (was still apprehensive about spending money on something clear) that I wore it and it looked decent. I plucked my eyebrows thinking they had to look the same (same being non existent) then figured out you can draw them to look similar. We truly had to fuck around and find out
It looks good in low light… we were really wearing clubbing makeup in first period. I would literally bring a massive makeup bag to third period to do my makeup in class how embarrassing

I saw her whip out the naked brush and I thought “omg she’s using the naked brush” and then you said it immediately hahaha. Fr though I’ve been using the brushes from my Naked palettes for years. The one from the Cherry palette is legit my favourite eyeshadow brush lol
