Welp, I for sure can't compete with that...
I remember when the owner first bought the car and it just had a stock engine 2jz with a 71mm turbo and stock auto trans. Went 8.80s full interior with a stereo in that trim. And now to see it having evolved to what it is now has been very cool to watch.

Andres Garcia yep thats most likely what happened as the RB series was made first and was a great platform for tuners which was a big thing back then as we still know it today then Toyota made the 1jz designed by Yamaha, block casted and engine built and tested by Toyota in Japan then the 2jz which just stole the same Yamaha design but Toyota made it as a 3L and a few changes in design like to the head valves cams toyota vvti an few other stuff as direct competitor to the RB series that’s why the 2jz doesn’t have the common problems that the RBs have at high boost pressure like poor oil drainage from head, inconsistent bore thickness, and warping and cracking between cylinders nun of these are a problem for the 1 or 2jz even at higher torque levels as they were designed and build after the rb so a lessen learned from rb and a good design from Yamaha comprised with Toyota’s reliability standards of casting blocks and building reliable engines the 2jz was born

the suspension and the gearing on that beast is well setup. No wheelie bar with that much hp and the wheels barely lift.

Javier's titles always have even rounded up numbers bro! I'm neither a tuner or a driver so I hate to be that guy, but...Dude said it made 2022 hp @ 68 psi on the dyno. I'm going to guess that they would pick up more than 178 hp with that extra 12 psi of boost.

If it's a 2J you should put it in the title, I mean sure it's at 240sx but it's not really a 240sx. I guess only DSMs/Evos can put down power wiith a 4-cylinder anymore. Nobody watches these videos just to see what chassis somebody is using, kind of ignore the most important part.
@steezyskids Piss off moron, I hope that fastest 4-cylinder is lower than a 6.30, as there are quite a few builders that have reached that speed. A 4G63 company specifically has reached 227 I want to say it was, Jett Racing. Either way that would be more impressive than just saying a 240sx ran a quick quarter. The car is a Toyota powered vehicle, not Nissan.
That matters if you're going to appeal to 240sx enthusiasts. Sure it's a nice body style, but it's not a Nissan anymore.
That's like saying "turbo Mustang runs 6 second quarter mile!" Well the damn thing runs in LS engine and a Powerglide, well imo that is worth mentioning. Because it's not a Mustang really just because it has a chassis.
If I didn't like drag racing, why would I be here? A better question for you is what have you actually built? Answer that before worrying about what I do.

@@Wabeeninc Oh I don't doubt it. There are numerous four cylinders capable of low sixes, 4G63 has gone 227 trap speed even though the ET wasn't that low, my point is that at least that's an actual Nissan that you are talking about. This is a 240sx only in name.

Real Nissan fans aren't really going to be able to relate to that. Sure it's a good metric for what the chassis can do with a fairly intricate swap and a lot of money dumped in it.
At least with the SR22 (which I'm assuming you mean a bored out SR20), is easier to swap and is more applicable to the community.

@@viii8993 V8s have just been American tradition since the beginning.. Now technology has come along and little 6 cylinders like this make large displacement V8s look kind of silly.. The 2JZ is running mid 5 second quarter miles now. The only engines faster are blown big block V8s that are literally 4 times the cubic inches running nitro methane.. 😄 Its only a matter of time before turbo 6's are running 4s
