To those of you about to comment that my answers are incorrect, please read: This video was made with the intention of helping players test their knowledge of making the correct decisions given a short amount of time to think. The truth is, in any given play, there are often multiple good choices, not just one. Because of this, I purposely tried to give one answer that was clearly a better option than the others and then explain why that option is better. Just because you would have done something that wasn't even on the list of options, doesn't mean it's a bad decision. Hope this clears some stuff up! :)
The only questionable answers you gave was #2 and #4 #2: if he had been backpost he would have saved the shot if it was on target and since it wasnt he could have taken control with the space given to him. #4: His decisions were good. The mistakes came from Comm, who rotated front post and centered the ball. The only mistake the player in view made was driving up to the ball when Comm is coming towards the ball like that, but in all honesty i would have gone up for the ball expecting Comm not to touch the ball. Everything else was good dude. A lot of players can definitly learn from this and no matter your skill level its good practice to evalute situations on the fly.
@@jan7097 Hard disagree on your analysis of #4. Comm is still in that corner and that means he's still putting out pressure on the ball (if he wasn't, he'd rotate back or go forward anticipating a pass). This means you should only go when you have a touch that guaranteed clears the ball in such a way that the opposing team can't immediately clear it back to your side. This wasn't the case for this touch and as such you should wait for it to be clear that Comm is no longer going for the ball. This is also in your interest because it allows your third more time to rotate. The mistake made by the player in the video on #4 was that he crept forward to the middle of the goal. That shot would have been perfectly saveable from the back post.
I think the same and it annoyed me that bad that i also post something like that. These are not mistakes at all. There is so much more behind a wrong decision than just your position on field and your boost.apreciate im not the only one that thinks so.
#8 I would say you made the right call to go back post in most situations but seeing as they were down 2 goals with 50 seconds left hoping for a good clear and redirect to have a chance at winning seems like a fine option as the extra goal doesn't really matter at that point

@@Kettvnen Yep I'll be ready at backpost perfectly good boomer shot lined up and teammate will cut in front of me and own goal it. I feel like at plat, even though I'm the same rank, my teammates have no awareness of where the ball will go if they hit it so they just hit it as fast as they can and more often than not it's a pass to our enemies. Basically, you just need to consider "is there anyone able to defend this ball if it gets pass me?" If yes - challenge, or wait to see what happens depending on where your third teammate is (if it's 3's) If no - go back post to defend or shadow defend depending on your position on the field (whether you're close to your net or not). Then you also need to consider "is there anyone able to shoot this ball, or is anyone going to challenge the ball?" You get the idea. You should ALWAYS be thinking. This was my favorite video so far! I just started playing and since this game is so dynamic it is hard to find specific advice on what to do in certain situations. There are a lot of videos on mechanics but not that many that highlight decision making. I'd love to see more like this! I think i missed 2 of them. Ive already seen a bunch of your videos tho, so the back post ones were easy 😂
Got pretty much all right but am c1... I need skill XDD Also on the last one I was 50/50. Challenge cause there is no real chance for a pass or d: rotate back instantly cause there was a double commit which could have turned into a pass towards the enemies leaving the tm8 back in a 1v2. or worse, made your last tm8 commit leaving the net wide open
The double commit is okay as long as he challenges whilst still moving back though imo. he might have a slightly slower recovery and slightly less boost but he'll be there. So challenge is okay, if your tm8 in back messes up then you clearly missed the challenge too so you cant be mad. Right?
joe mcalister yh, but the m8 from the right also comes from a shit angle. It could have been the worst pinch ever. I mean, they call it 50/50 for a reason XDD
You say these mistakes are for everyone rank, yet i think you are assigning each mistake to a single rank. A perfect example would be at 2:07 , in this rank yes that would have been the right answer but in champ + it was wrong. Instead of just waiting for the ball to come you should push up more and then challenge the ball in the air since your tm8 is rotating behind and the enemy tm8 is rotating and flipping back. Moving forward more instead of an immediate challenge will also give your tm8 more time to get in a better position and wait for the ball to get lower for an easier challenge. Then you should fly up to ball hitting on the more upper part to force it downwards and under the opponent. Then the ball is already going in the direction of your third tm8 who can take possession. Then you rotate back while your tm8 in net rotates out to make a play with the other.
His answer was to push up more, into the midfield. However he was saying don't just yeet yourself into the air like that player did because either of those opponents would beat him cleanly to the ball and he is a wasted defender. I think the big difference you would see is a high ranked player would probably start from a different position based on the previous gameplay/boost, and be able to challenge for at least a 50/50.
I'm always playing with teammates that do these mistakes. I KNOW it's my ball... I'm sitting on background, I clear it to corner and I'm still mid-air flying for the ball to get another touch in order to beat more defenders. Everyone can see me doing it. Yet, somehow, my team thinks it's an intelligent decision to hit the ball for me? One of my friends ALWAYS sits in net. One friend will be front with the ball, I'll be in some place waiting for a pass or waiting to see what happens. Friend is all the way in net just sitting there. I'll have rotated back and am now pushing up field as a friend rotates back. The ball is rolling back and for some reason my friend blasts the ball to the side wall. I'm literally RIGHT THERE. These things just happen ALL THE TIME. Champ 1.
subscribed, I think you may have just found your niche and place on YT. Here is to hoping you make this into a series and your channel blows up! Looking forward to more high quality videos from you.
Great video! I love ur style and it was fun answering these questions. I got like 8 or 9 out of 12 right but when I heard the rigt answer I was like 'woooahhh right why didn't I say that? It's obvious...' every time 😂 I played a few more rounds after that and noticed how I got better by staying a bit more back and going back post instead of the middle of the goal. Thanks a lot!
TurboTurtle910 __ so yeah, most likely guessed correctly. There’s a lot of fundamentals to why you make certain decisions in this game a lot of it comes down to game experience on the game. Either way, hopefully this video is a good learning tool for you :)
7:10 It should have been The redirect option. The game is almoçar ending and they are losing 4-2 so he should trust his teammate with that shot to The mid and take The pass to Then advance with his teammate on The right side so they can score My opinion
See the thing is though in GC we could get away with doing certain things more because of our mechanics and ability to hit the ball like #6 I think is wrong the ball is too low for him to try to double it but then again we’re at a higher level that guy in net had him beat 100 percent of the time
Joshua Whiteman I would’ve stayed you know your team is heading back so it’s fine judging from how he came that guy is either hitting it to you or to the corner which you could get from either way
4:54 his teammate did the right thing because he scored the goal before the defender from the right came to the ball, if their teammate didn't go for the ball directly it would've been too late to score
Up to Champ I had all the answers right. It's easy, when you have time to analyze. What makes it hard is making the decisions ingame and under pressure.
8:50 is really arguable (and it's not the only case): Passing to your left is the worst idea here. Cheekylad AND K1rn both go from the the right to the left with a good amount of speed, if your receiving teammate on the left doesn't get your idea, both would be able to shoot a good shot. Passing it to your right means passing against their driving direction what makes both very harmless, they will need time to take a turn. Also shooting is a better idea than passing it to your left. I agree that the ball's gonna be saved most likely but honestly your teammate to your left is driving towards your own goal. You have 3 challenges here: 1) Making a good pass 2) Hoping that your teammate gets your idea 3) Your teammate hitting the ball good. You may also just take the risk and shoot it and hope for a good rebound.
7:00 since they are down 2 goals and there is a minute left, the correct choice would be to go mid field and hope your teammates pass it to you. I understand that the back post is the general and correct answer but it doesnt create any chances for a comeback.
This theoretical stuff is actually extremely helpful (got 3 mistakes, I think). I usually play 2s and still can’t get out of gold (mostly because I’m too lazy to spend hours on mechanical training), but its videos like these that actually help me improve my position and game reading and cover a lot of my mechanical problems by, well, not doing stupid things in the first place. Also, this is one of the first if not the very first video that I’ve seen that actually gives solid explanations on why it’s better to go back post instead of near post or mid-goal. I’d definitely want to see some more of these “quizzes”. Also, happy new year:)
I'm at about 12 hours of play and I'm in Plat 1 on 3v3s. I got all those questions for Plats right. Now tons of players in my 3v3s can pull off way more skilled shots and aerials than I can barely hit 1 out of 10 times since I'm brand new--but positioning and reading the ball is just KEY in this game. Had people in comments throwing a bit of a fit at me on another channel for my rank being that high so new but most players don't get how much position matters. Skilled shots are awesome but unless you're high enough consistent rank to pull them off I'll usually be the one there to get it when you as a teammate miss or an opposing player overcommits.
You know, i'm not really a 3s player and have always been a bit unsure about my rotation/decision making for it even though i'm a GC in 2s and watching this video really helped me realize that I make the ideal decision that I should have made in that moment (about 80-90% of the time). Now that I realize that, I can focus more on improving my mechanics and such :) Didn't think this vid would be helpful to me but it actually was! Thanks for the helpful vid :)
I actually got a lot right and im a high dia/low champ guy. I'am also never that guy who think I'm better than others. This to me just proves my idea's and plans mostly are right, but i lack the ball and car control to execute my plans making me be at the rank i currently am. Recently stumbled upon your video's and i really like the content you make. Keep it up you have a new sub ;)

There are a lot of videos on mechanics but not that many that highlight decision making. I'd love to see more like this! I think i missed 2 of them. Ive already seen a bunch of your videos tho, so the back post ones were easy 😂
Got pretty much all right but am c1... I need skill XDD
Also on the last one I was 50/50. Challenge cause there is no real chance for a pass or d: rotate back instantly cause there was a double commit which could have turned into a pass towards the enemies leaving the tm8 back in a 1v2. or worse, made your last tm8 commit leaving the net wide open
Christoph L ya if u challenge that and miss and the guy hits it mid its a 2v1 for your tm8 and u just double commited. It could go either way
The double commit is okay as long as he challenges whilst still moving back though imo. he might have a slightly slower recovery and slightly less boost but he'll be there.
Awesome video and a great idea. It was super helpful. You should really consider making this an ongoing series. Either way you earned a sub.
Hope your channel keeps growing!
I got all of the correct answers, but i know that i still do a lot of these things wrong :) (im now champ 2)
Champ 1.
I got almost all wrong and I'm champ 2 too hahahah
Would definitely love to see more of these - even ones dedicated to certain ranks/plays, etc. Super fun!
When you get them all right but your in silver
In #11, I would grab the back big boost and go to defense
I’m in bronze, so didn’t expect to do well. I got 2/3 on all ranks, is that good?
For a bronze, yes, for a diamond, kinda, for a gc, no
subscribed, I think you may have just found your niche and place on YT.
This is honestly so helpful. I played a few games and I was at diamond 1 div 4 and now I’m diamond 2 div 2 thanks for the great tips
Where gonna start off at platinum level
Me a bronze one: *Takes notes*
This is an amazing video. Do more please :)
I’m surprised but I got them all right
TurboTurtle910 __ I missed 2 but it was kinda hard to tell where the other players where so it was harder to choose
Rank?
And if youre surprised then you mustve guess on a few/good amount of them
IsaiasSoldier2 I’m only a plat so I was suprised
TurboTurtle910 __ so yeah, most likely guessed correctly. There’s a lot of fundamentals to why you make certain decisions in this game a lot of it comes down to game experience on the game. Either way, hopefully this video is a good learning tool for you :)
7:10
It should have been The redirect option.
The game is almoçar ending and they are losing 4-2 so he should trust his teammate with that shot to The mid and take The pass to Then advance with his teammate on The right side so they can score
My opinion
Anyone else thought this was sunlesskhan from thumbnail
Loved this video format! Super helpful!
Big yikes im gc i got 2 wrong ( i picked fromt post twice lol)
See the thing is though in GC we could get away with doing certain things more because of our mechanics and ability to hit the ball like #6 I think is wrong the ball is too low for him to try to double it but then again we’re at a higher level that guy in net had him beat 100 percent of the time
@@KingCA_1 yeh I said defend since hes literally staring at the ball
Joshua Whiteman I would’ve stayed you know your team is heading back so it’s fine judging from how he came that guy is either hitting it to you or to the corner which you could get from either way
Been here since the beginning! Love your content!
Keep up the great content! Really looking forward to your next video.
Nice video dude, great to get some insight in to higher level decision making - I got all except the last one.
Just found your videos. They’re very well done. Keep it up man
Man I love this video. You should make another one of it
Keep making these videos =) Quite interesting to watch.
thank u so much for clarifying I've really been wondering on a lot of these situations which is the best and most common approach
I like your vids and I can see some inspiration of sunless vids style but you are making it your own version which is pretty good gl m8
Hey, I love this concept, do you make other videos like this one ? Like a quizz :)
Great video, this has helped me and alot of other people think more and get better about their decision-making skills.
This is a great video. I would appreciate more of these.
Great vid, keep up the hard work man. :)
You know, i'm not really a 3s player and have always been a bit unsure about my rotation/decision making for it even though i'm a GC in 2s and watching this video really helped me realize that I make
the ideal decision that I should have made in that moment (about 80-90% of the time).
I play almost entirely defensively because my reg teammates are useless at rotating. It usually works out quite well.
the train horn at 4:57 scared me bruh lol
I have pretty good game sense i got only 2 wrong and they were in the gc one so pretty good .
I'm pretty new to your channel and I just want to say, I love your editing.
This was super helpful! Nice work
