I believe the P16 is the clear winner for me for three main reasons: Performance: The P16 offers superior performance, which is crucial for my needs. Price: The price difference of $500 or more is significant and cannot be ignored. Weight: Even a small difference in weight makes a big impact when I'm traveling. This is why I currently use a 14-inch MacBook Pro instead of the 16-inch model. Whether I'm traveling by train, ferry, or airplane, I always manage to find a power outlet near my seat, so I don't have to rely on the battery. Additionally, I prefer physical buttons and a trackpad with clear edges, which the P16 provides. This makes it a no-brainer for me if I decide to use a Windows laptop. However, this is a big 'if,' especially considering that Microsoft tracks even keystrokes. I don't have a compelling reason to use Windows in my environment, whether for personal or office use.
Exactly the review and comparsion I was looking for. Thank You! I'm looking for a 16" OLED touch. Leaning for the DELL XPS with Intel and 90Hz Display. Regarding Keyboard and Ports I am not sure if I will like the new Dell. Would take Asus if it would offer Intel configuration but with AMD I am a little shy because I have some old SW where I don't know if they might cause problems with AMD. Other than that, I really like the new ProArt P16. I am upgrading from a Surface book 2 15" which I had for 7 years and still love it. But beattey is end of life and changing nearly impossible or super expensive with risk of damage. That all the new notebooks now have easy acces to for battery exchange is a hughe step forward.
Great video! The company that I work for has always supplied dell XPS as part of their offering. However, the biggest flaw I've found on this PC is the "aluminum” / overheating issue. All works well (like any other PC) once out of the box. After a few weeks of heavy use, then the heating issue arise. It seems to be a common issue on this model.
It's funny how the word "Trackpad" has taken over "Touchpad". The original word is "Touchpad" and covers all "pads". "Trackpad" is originally the brand name of Apple's product/tech.
I get the Asus for price but I have always been an AMD fanboy. By the way, having more abundance in ram helps even if ram doesn't bottleneck. The operating system both proactively and passively caches data into RAM, on longer compute sessions, and if you stand by, ram going unused winds up populated with most likely data you typically use. Typically, on my 32 GB box, 12 gigs are in use, 19 gigs shows in resource monitor as cache data, this happens overtime computing, but gets reset on a restart, does not get reset on standby. In essence excess ram acts as a ram disc, there's no performance hit using excess ram as data cache. I'm on my phone so I can't check, if memory serves, the Intel soldered ram is probably faster than the Asus? I personally go for more RAM over fast ram. Another also, I believe AMD is providing software that allows users to change power drawer percentages, not positive about that, v I think I saw that on another creator's tube
I'm really considering the P16 at the moment, could you tell me how wobbly the screen is when using the pen? Since the main purpose is digital painting, it's one of the more important factor for me as well. I also considered the PX13, but I need the extra SSD slot to run Linux (I want complete separation and no dual boot). Thanks in advance!
@@Promikes Yea I know. I tried both VM and WSL and just didn't like splitting resources for both host and the VM (I know, Ubuntu doesn't require much), but it is indeed the better option than conventional dual boot. Excuse me, but what the hell does 13:43 mean? How can ASUS don't run benchmark which is basically a render scene? But you've claimed that the software works... So the render wasn't working? F12 did nothing? Or render has stopped? Or WTF was going on with ASUS there? I am really confused 😵💫 I mean missed render option is kinda huge problem for 3D software
Oh no, I was expecting the StudioBook 16 also in the comparisons. I have the 13980hx, ADA 3000. Any chance you have an opinion how much faster or slower is the Studio book than the P16?
I must add.. I have the dell and only had it for a month before the ports started disconnecting and reconnecting on its own. Smh it's so sad that they want so much and it's not worth your money. ..
The Dell was released early this year with Intel's first core ultra processor. It's not running Arrowlake. It would've been better to compare whenever the AL Dell is released. There was never any doubt the Asus would win.
Dell has a better track pad, ProArt is better in every single other aspect and is $500 cheaper. Big W for Asus, massive L for Dell, or two massive L's.
The Asus is a clear winner for me. I need to buy a new heavy spec laptop for work but I read online about the Asus screen randomly going black for a second. Anyone knows if this really is an issue or just a few people with the issue? I Don't feel like spending around 3K on a laptop and having to deal with problems like that from day one. If it is a common problem I would stick to a Dell even though it is slower
Not sure if you have made your purchase yet or not, but thought I would chime in after owning the P16 for a few months and always having Dell XPS models beforehand (3 different models) Yes the P16 will do weird things with the screen, when you open it from standby it will go dull and takes a few moments to sort itself out so to speak. It will also turn off randomly from time to time. Very frustrating. As I type this on my previous generation XPS the P16 is currently being fixed for a second time after only 3 months of ownership. To be fair this time its due to bit locker not letting me in so its software related. The first instance it wouldn't turn on or charge., just died on my completely. I was given a full refund but STILL wanted the P16 as it is an AMAZING laptop when working. So they shipped another after repurchasing it again... I now worry constantly if it will just decide to die on me again (especially worried when it falls out of its warranty period) I am based in New Zealand and fortunately we have great consumer protection laws. In saying that if I get the call that the P16 can not be fix for a second time I will be taking the refund and purchasing the new XPS full spec which works out being 6.6K NZD compared to the P16's 5.2k NZD . Getting a third P16 in as many months is just plain madness. I will say I have NEVER had an issue with the XPS line its just this time round I thought I would try the P16. Its a real shame because the P16 is INCREDIBLE I have just found it to be very unreliable. I hope this may provide you some help :) Sing out if I can answer any questions you may have and I will try my best to answer them.

But what made me kind off mad is the one I'm using now, the screen randomly freezes on a daily basis (for years now, nothing they can do about it). So you have to turn the screen off and it is fixed.
