You should definitely get a house that’s out of town with a big shop so you can fit your stuff in. Also you could do what ever you want love your and Katie’s videos but youtubers out there.
Levi Windsor that’s the plan 😂😂😂 nothings perfect for sale at the moment!
Everyone should honestly do that. Self Reliance is disappearing.
Great job Ryan. I like how you are open and honest about fixing things. And your not afraid to tackle hard repairs. 👍
Do a top speed test on the hellcat
I’m hoping that brake caliper wasn’t hanging there for 4 days like it was. But car looks good none the less.
20:51 when you can’t find the right box wrench fuck it get the knuckle buster lol
A tech tip for you. On the ball joint press put a far amount of grease on the threads of the shaft. It will press easier and will help prevent binding
Always enjoy your informative content! You give a lot of great advice for dyi wrenchers & show how with a little bit of effort the jobs can be done for a lot less $$.Plus it a great feeling of doing it yourself.
Thanks again for all you do making your videos and I look forward to seeing your next video!
im glad you got the charger fixed, the Taho is clean, I love it every time I see it!
That harbor freight ball joint press impressed the shit out of me
It's pretty hard to mess up a tool like that
Me too
I think you should do Silver decals on the Tahoe, I saw the back shine in the sun making a shiny sheen and the contrast looks stellar.
I would of replaced all tie rods and keep any good ones as emergency back ups.
Another great video! Our offer still stands, if you want to get the lift kit powder coated, we got you!
The Tahoe looks so good and yah when I lifted my truck I had to re do the ball joints as well
Ryan, you should use some grease or anti seize on the threads of the C clamp to help save it from binding when putting all of that torque. It will help but mainly save your tools.
Build your own sub box and do a wild paint match color on it and do a video on that, it would be sick, and personally i recommend Skar DDX, they’re inexspensive and they sound great lots of bass
That clunk up front, does it sometimes sound like it is nearmyour left foot or under your seat at times? 07 Tahoe's and Avalanches had an issue where the body mount for the front part cab corner mount breaks or the bold comes loose. Check the body mound right under the front edge of your drivers front door. My Avy was making same noise and that was 5he issue
How can you not notice that blue axle that Katie painted great job Katie😎 . Great job on the ball joints I might get off my lazy azz and do my 😂😂😂😳😳😳(that not going to happen)😂😂😂
I can't wait until Katie's truck is finished will make a head turner for sure. You might wanna get a second floor jack ,more jack stands and a small torch kit. But you gotta do a liftd garage soon. Least 6 to 8 bay.
Still best content on utube, love all your stuff bud! You really do kinda need a shop or bigger garage your channel and katies are great and you deserve it!👍
Intermediate steering shaft and that plastic bushing also.
I know you’ll likely never see this but DO NOT drive the Tahoe without axles. I did the same and learned my lesson very fast luckily nobody was hurt and didn’t mess my truck up to bad. Anyway those hub assemblies rely on the pressure from the axle nut to hold them together, if you drive without axles and leave the hubs open and no pressure they will come apart and your wheel WILL FLY OFF. I hope you see this just for safety reasons alone. Love the content brother long time follower!
Id suggest throwing a set of Kryptonite tie rod ends on there especially since its on bigger wheels and tires and maybe some upgraded sway bar links those auto store replacements never last ended up putting some energy susp ones in and they have been ten times better cognito also makes a aftermarket version
I really like that Tahoe. Good lift, nice tires. I like it
Is it just me or does the Tahoe looks like it squats but in reality it doesn't?
It has lean no doubt but I like it
he should take out the leveling kit so it sits straighter and maybe it will fix his cv clunking issue
D_ McClintock47 no shot bro that 100% stuff doesn’t look right at all
Moog parts are. It what they uses to be. Rare parts from Napa are what you want. Also check the idled arm and idler support bracket for the popping sound
Also I would look at the front hubs. Since you are putting more stress with the bigger tires. Good luck.
Ryan, try soaking that door latch in WD40 and working the latch (opening and shutting the door) a half dozen times. I had a vehicle where the door ajar light and dome light would stay on. Soaking the door latches in WD40 would clean and clear any dirt or debris out of the latch so it could make good contact again and make the door ajar and dome lights work correctly.
Over the summer I worked in a audio shop and skar amps are the best bang for your buck and the best subs I’ve heard is sundown audio 12’s U series but you’ve picked out great stuff for your build but that’s just my input
I have four vehicles lifted (2005 Chevy avalanche, 1995 Chevy Silverado, 1995 Chevy 2 door Tahoe, 1990 Chevy blazer) I have a steering stabilizer on everyone and traction bars on all four, some of that noise on the Tahoe could be when the drive shaft is under pressure, a load or horse power the yoke moves to much and can cause noise. Also the noise could be the drive shaft from the front, the missing drive shaft? I am a big believer in traction bars and steering stabilizers, I never had a question about to do it or not, it was just part of the cost of doing the lift, I also would look into changing the gears in the rear end too, the stress from running the bigger tires and the lift will take its toll on the trans, just a thought, I’m really enjoying your channel keep up the great work. PS I also have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe same color as yours but all stock, with factory air ride, running 33” tires, it only has 34,000 miles on it, so your Tahoe has a special place in my heart, love seeing it, now I’m thinking about blacking out the emblems too, and loving the lights, the ride is looooooking great...
Nice. Been there with the ball joints on my previous RAM trucks especially bad on my 2004, replaced most every thing on the front end. Other than that, never had a problem with anything else.
Ryan i love watching your channel alot every day and every night u are both awesome RUclipsr say safe and healthy with your family i hope this will get better soon keep making awesome videos on your channel 😀
I feel like hes gonna say, hey guys today we are gonna throw new pistons in this one today and get that knocked out first. 😂 makes everything look easy
Just a little idea, next time you do ball joints, put the new ones in the freezer for a couple hrs and the are alot easier
Should do the Escalade front end conversion on it also
in my opinion Ryan id never just let the caliper on the charger or any vehicle just hang there, I usually set it on a milk crate or something for less added stress on the brake hose. just some constructive critisizim I love your videos and watch them daily for years.
Ball joints are definitely something you need to pay attention to, i ignored mine on my old dodge dakota and when i was off in the middle of nowhere Montana one failed and took out 2 ball joints, inner and out tie rod, and a cv boot. Replacing ball joints on the side of a muddy cliff hours away from home isnt very fun trust me.
Painting that entire Tahoe that kinda darker red would really set off the wheels and lights and tie it all together
Do you have any issues with ordering from rock auto? I have to order a alternator but I’m always a little nervous about ordering from a site that has 50/50 on the reviews. Can you give me a little insight/opinion?
Thanks!
Hey man. The next time it happens, just pull the radio/amp fuse and put them back in and it’ll pop right back in.
Ryan you should build your own sub box... tramps 3k and some sundown sa15’s would sound really good...
The front leveling kits can sometimes clunk if not torqued to spec too
After watching all your videos I have figured out your problem that’s making your noise. It’s your cv axles. Thought I would save you some time. You’re welcome
Put offroad bumpers on the Tahoe
You need Bendpak quick jacks! One day. Good video dude!
The intermediate shaft on the steering column can get dry and make a rattle over rough roads sounding like a tie rod as well.
That hoodie is preshuhh 🔥
Man ik the feeling man I’ve got a 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee going on some 20’s and 33’s and my lift hasn’t even shown up test and I’ve replaced almost everything underneath well everything that the lift doesn’t come with at least
There was a recall out for the intermediate steering shaft on those. I you have your popping noise when hit bumps with steering wheel off center, check that
I love watching your videos man! After seeing you fix up the cat eye I slapped a 7 1/2 inch lift on my 2016 Silverado. I’m trying to convince my wife to let me get another project truck but she ain’t with it😂
That is awesome! lololol youll get one!!
Carven exhaust for both vehicles homie. Put their TR muffler and 4in tip..sounds awesome💯🇺🇸🇲🇽🇵🇷
If you want good sound and it to look good get a Gately audio box and order a set of FI Audio subs to go in them. They are slightly delayed due to the virus but the subs are made in the US
Look at the strut mount do to you taking it apart and you putting it back together from when you painted them
Look at Katie axles in the back 🔥🖤💪🏾🧠
Dang how’d you know I was 16🤯
Love your videos helps me out cuz I’m trying to modify a 07 sliverado new body 1500 and learning theses problems I might encounter while doing it, so thank you 😊
The FREEDOME in the 27 minute video is unmatched
ryan please look into the upper intermediate shaft, i had clunking like that on my lifted 1500 sierra and turns out that was the whole problem
This is 100% the problem! Upper intermediate shaft and I think there's a plastic bushing to replace also
I just had to do mine on my whole front end repainted it all and the lift with ease thanks to your tutorial videos! 06 silverado
I found that the radio fuse inside the vehicle builds up a very small layer of corrosion sometimes and that makes the radio shutoff and signals not click.
Borla attack would be awesome on the hellcat
On the Tahoe its more expensive but worth it check out kryptonite steering parts. Rebuild ur front in with that stuff
Not gonna lie. A little disappointed there was no ATV footage. Go Pro!! Awesome vid bro.
gotta find it!!
hint... Put some good grease or something on the press threads. Will make it a lot easier on the tool.
For the radio issues/electrical issue, it might be a loose chassis ground. Or a rusted connection.
I wish I had all the knowledge like you when it comes to doing cars
Hey Ryan you should always try 4 wheel parts warehouse, I have always found them to be cheaper then the parts houses
MBRP exhaust on the Tahoe!! You’ll thank me later. Lol
Go with a Carven exhaust on both the Charger and Tahoe they sound so good
Bro tri coat is pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it. If you think this color is bad try doing Ford ruby red geez is it a mess
@Ryan Mayer the whole losing sound in the stereo and blinkers it's the amp wiring that runs to the fuse box I had an issue with my 07 Yukon...the sound would go and come until finally it stopped and it had shorted out...you have to remove the whole fuse box and on the body beside the brake booster is where my wires were shorted out at the body was rubbing up against the conduit until it rubbed up against the wires...I just cut and replaced new wire and it was good...hope that helps...good luck...wire you will need is 10 gauge and 14 or 16 gauge wire...
Hey Ryan, I had a question regarding your hoodie sizing and quality. Are they 100% cotton? Checking to see if I need to upsize in the hoodie or go true to size
I hope you put that ball joint in correctly. They are elliptical. The “dot” on top goes to the inside or outside. Truck is looking good.
Need some energy suspension bushings.
Working on my own vehicle I've learned if you change one side you might as well just do the other. I blew a wheel bearing on my truck and it dropped to the ground I was being cheap and replace one well few months down the road the other went out. Needs less to say I said Fu** it replaced both and haven't had any other issues. Same with tie rods just do both saves time and you don't have that stress if something breaks. There's a reason they give you a warranty it because the company knows its going to break
You can get them with grease fittings on them as well
You’re one of the reasons i Own a 1/2 inch Milwaukee impact😂 literally in my opinion Milwaukee is the best impact gun out there.
Id look into hubs or steering shaft ive seen plenty of clunking come from the shaft were it meets rack . Dnt wanna drive down road and have it sheer off and lose steering completely if thats what it is .
I had a similar issue but with my f150, i had to get longer end links. I guess the bolts were not long enough and made that clunking noise. 4wp replaced them with specialty ones for like 150-200$
I love the tahoe build! Great job!
Hey Ryan on the Tahoe the reason the door sometimes goes off or it doesn’t it’s a sensor under the hinge it happened to my 05 f150.. it’s super cheap tbh around 10-20 bucks. A little annoying to get too. But hopefully this helps you man. It took me a while to find what was wrong with mine so yea
Armytrix makes the baddest exhaust systems out there. It would be awesome in the kitty cat
I would show you my 2011 Tahoe, but I can't upload a pic in the comments lol. You said that you thought you should have went with 24's. Well mine has 24x14's on the McGaughys 9 inch, and I wish I would have went with 37's instead of the 35's I have. The tires just look a bit small with the wheel size and the amount of lift. Definitely go with 37's if you decide to get the bigger wheels!
that popping could be coming from the drag link or the pitman arm. thats what happened on my silverado. i forget what they call it, but its basically like a pitman arm on the passenger side that gets loose too. check that. might not be obvious right away
🤔 I do like watching your videos but I think you need to get ON Katie's truck. COME'ON getting anxious. Blue going to be nice but I think accent color should be yellow.🤷🏽♂️ Colors go good together.👍🏼
What’s your best advice for someone young that is looking to buy a truck or there first car
Save money for gas
And repairs
I love all ur whips but I think u should have up sized on the Tahoes rims/tires..
U should always replace suspension in pairs. Never one side. Good video
LIME TAHOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😍🤪
Ryan is the GOAT.
🐐
Were you going for a squatted look on the Tahoe? The rear tires look more stuffed in the wheel well
I love the rims on the Tahoe
6:20 fellow HARDY fan I see...😂👍
Just so you know... Whenever you do any suspension or steering components you are supposed to do them in pairs and when doing them also no matter the measurements that should be temporary and you should always have it aligned that being said i replaced tie rod ends and still havent gotten an alignment yet but i should it rides funny still.
Were can I get the kind of sticker as you on the hood and side panel vortex sticker
So my brother has a white 6inch lifted Tahoe and my dad is getting his white ram 1500 we gonna looks like a mini version of you but keep up the good work.
My 08 Silverado rack and pinon bushing on the passage side was bad, rack would move side to side a lot, replaced it and stopped, could only get part at dealership was bout 8 bucks
Had the front end pulled apart with time to do it. Still didn't paint the lower a arms ( the only ones that show down the road). 🤯
First like brother!
Just did upper and lower ball joints on my f150, couldn’t get the impact on it but still did it somehow, I feel your pain Ryan! 😂
How about throwing a go pro on each side under truck an see if you can Pin point the noise ??
Might as well go ahead and change the hub assembly, chevy front wheel bearings are built into the hub and on big tires they wear out quick
Next time for future reference I'd say jack up your wheel height before tightening bushings, but other than that good deal my good sir
Causes cringing down force on all rubber inlays
I learned the hard way obviously lol but your work is greatly accomplished an acceptable an or resonnably acceptable for your love to motivation an prospect to others in either binds or trying times, but who am I hahaha I just love your motivation an we all really appreciate your hard word an integrity bud
The Tahoe needs some boost auto fm style tow mirrors
