Jax, I'm loving the podcast. They're making drive to and from Spokane bearable. My husband has been held captive in the car on these trips. When I told him, unapologetically, that we were listening to a podcast he wasn't too pleased. But he's liked them so much that he's starting to listen to them at home and is watching your channel now too. He said even though he's not a rancher or a truck driver, he really enjoys the content and your way of explaining things that some of your viewers may not have knowledge of or understand. Ya got the Jason Brown stamp of approval. He's a tuff critic!! 😉
My dad and brother always kept us entertained for hours with their stories (dad's started as a milk dray operator pre WW2. My dad has passed on and my brother retired after 30 years. Now my son is trucking and making a good living. He lived in his truck and poured every dime he could into land. I am proud that he is a 3rd gen trucker!
Good job cousin Jax. :) Series 60 Detroit are awesome engines. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain, and better fuel economy. One time a friend and I both had to replace turbos on our trucks, his CAT turbo was $6000, my Detroit, $1100. The biggest complaint I have about them is that they leak oil. Almost every 60 series I’ve seen has an oil leak of some kind. Not a big deal just something you get used to.
Just want to mention since I work on semi Motors that if your air compressor completely goes it can also take out the motor by pushing metal shavings into the motor love your videos thank you for going in depth about changing the compressor

Good job explaining that. Yea they can be a pain in the you know what, but like you said there are things you can do to make it a little easier. I like how you said it at the first of the video, preventative maintenance. Later dude and go make momma some money lol.
Because there are coolant lines that run to the air compressor to keep it cool. If you don’t drain the coolant, you would have to deal with trying to pinch all the lines off and will make a pretty sizable mess.
What kind of air compressor did you buy and where did you buy it ? I just had a original compressor last me a year and now she’s starting to build slow I want to replace it
Good call. I didn’t show it on the video because I thought it might draw some negativity, but I shot a half a can of brake cleaner down the supply line that goes to the air dryer.
