  • I got this 2021 SKI-DOO 850 Etec Turbo FreeRide 154 the end of last month. I sold the 2.5 inch track and swapped it for a smaller lugged set up.The snowmobile hasn't made three miles and has been apart already! The clutching and gearing will need to be changed but first I am waiting to get studs in this thing and see what it can do. Once the sled is broke in I am dropping the Bikeman tune in this. Hopefully this thing stays together I am around 1500 feet plan to trail ride and drag race if we ever get any snow

    Sooooo, you bought a turbo sled that only maintains sea level horsepower at elevation to use on the trail??...you know you are only getting 165 hp same as everyone with a regular 850 right? Also, narrow ski stance and long track make it an awful handling trail sled and as far as I know, you can’t even get tunnel protectors for a 154. Not trying to $@!? Not sure why you'd want that little lug track? 2"-2.5" works great ditch banging in the deep ditches. I've had my 154 trenched and burried w/ a 154 2.25". So if you're trail riding, why not a short track with studs? Will hook up and be faster. A longer track isn't going to give you better results drag racing. You'll have so little track pressure on that track, you'll always just spin and lose to short tracks w/ studs. Mind boggling.

      Nah man, u want top speed 2.25” is the way to go. The mph this sled would top out at would be mind boggling. Just needs clutching and that’s it

    • @Velislide
      @Velislide 3 года назад +1

      @@kyledejong8816 if you want top speed, less lug the better. Less rotating mass in general. That's why I'm confused that he bought a 154 for drag racing. That's a lot of rotating mass that kind of goes to waste. You can get full hook on a shorter track with good conditions. Less rotating mass, so more power to the ground. Now how much of a difference it would be, or if it would be super noticeable, not totally sure. But spreading out your dig over the contact patch on a 154, versus a shorter track, that's not much pressure.

    • @Captndarty
      @Captndarty 3 года назад

      @@Velislide I would say he bought the 154 because that’s the smallest track that Skidoo offers with the factory turbo which in its stock state isn’t going to give any more power but I’m sure a flash of some sort and it will.
