growing up in the 80's and 90's, there was a myth that we grew up believing about Bruce. It was said that Bruce once dived for the ball but he went the wrong way, then whilst mid air, he turned towards the ball and still saved the ball.

There is no doubt Bruce Grobbelaar is a Zimbabwean hero though he was born in Durban KZN.RSA.Zimbabweans poured out emotional support when he was engulfed in the match fixing allegations which the London Crown court eventually acquitted him from the accusations. Brucie would turn his back on a lucrative LFC career to fly off 8000miles to play for his beloved Zimbabwe. It was the Zim Jungleman who negotiated the brilliant, beautiful kit deal during the Dream team Era with the Enns Sportswear which was based in Merseyside .I totally agree with Jungleman that Zim football has been dragged into the abyss &doldrums by incompetent, inept ZIFA,SRC,Govt &so-called administrators like Leo Mugabe,Chiyangwa,Henrietta Rushwaya etal.

His Majesty of Zimbabwe, a Freedom fighter in my lenses , u alwys loved your people ignorant to color 😅
Lemme confess that i was born in the late 90s and when i first came to read and hear about the Legendery Skipper nobody ever told me he was white , many years i used to praise The Legend Thinking he was a black guy only to find out later he was white. For that period alone im so grateful 😅❤😊bcoz the History he Made overshadowed any negativity around him. Thank u Bruce for Life , we want u to come back and play your final wish for the country you Invented and blended. May Most High give you strength and mighty
We're blessed to hav you ❤ youre such a blessing to 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe, its clear in your eyes , no lips can beat that expression, and those experiences of risking your only Job to play for your country wouldnt be known today if you never speak out. Thats so touching , worse the story of a malfunctioning Plane ✈ imagine risking your life for your nation. ❤❤❤this is Huge , U deserve massive recognition, if everything was running well in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 your Academy could be recruiting Zimbabweans for Liverpool smoothly but bcoz of useless puppets we cant utilize this its a disgrace to our ancestors.

Thank you Trevor for this wonderful conversation with one of our Zimbabwean sporting legends. How about a similar interview with some of other soccer starts of yesteryear - like my father, Tendayi Chieza, who played for Mangula, Salisbury Sables, Zimabwe Saints and the National team and continued as a coach at Zimbabwe Saints?
There would be so much to talk about. For example, the position of old sporting stars in todays conversations around sport and development; how those stars are treated today, and a reminder to todays generation about the names and faces that graced our sports fields and hearts. My father is alive and kicking and lives in the UK.

When you have struggles in life, you should revisit those struggles to get rid of the demons - incredibly pregnant statement! I was only 4 when the DreamTeam peaked around 1992, but I've got fond memories from reading about that era over the years. I also remember listening to Radio 1 in the 90s when Evans Mambara and Charles CNN Mabika used to do the commentary over football matches - what a time it was! Having done my O'levels at Mzilikazi High, I've re-created my own picture of what a fortress Barbourfields was during those Bruce and Peter Nsukuzonke Ndlovu days. Sad how everything about football has become in Zim now --- my heart bleeds gallons! Cry my beloved Zim football. Only God knows!!!

Bruce used the "P-word" to refer to young children of colour. That word is very offensive. It is an old Rhodesian relic. It is sad that we have to hear this word uttered on a public platform such as this one. This is 2023, we should not have to be subjected to these vile words. I'm disappointed that Trevor did not take exception to the use of this word on his show. When Boris Johnson used this word, he had to offer an apology. I would have assumed that we are all aware of the inappropriate nature of this word. If there is not an apology from this channel, I shan't be watching anymore episodes.
