Sorry to hear that both of you. Pope John Paul II taught In the liturgical document from 2003 (if I remember properly) it is your RIGHT to receive this way and thus not even a Bishop can take this right away. God bless!

I think there were a lot of abuses and disobedience with respect to Humanae Vitae as well. I think many in the Church thought that the Catholic Church would go along with the change in the direction of the Protestant churches on this issue, and I think many were surprised (and maybe angered) by Pope Paul VI's adherence to the teachings always upheld by the Church about contraception. I heard a lot of people, my parents included, who were told that they could 'listen to their consciences' when making the decision whether or not to use contraception, rather than being firm on Church teaching. Unfortunately, we're seeing the fruits of that now. 😞

Our Lady of Lasallette said that Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of the Antichrist. The Remnant Catholic Church will remain. Do not be deceived by the False Prophet. They are changing the Church to the One World Church.
I think today's priests, from what I can see, tend to be more in line with the JPII era.... Less 'liberal' and more dedicated to Truth. I don't live in the States, but in my archdiocese, the priests have been beautifully orthodox. ❤️✝️🕊️
Yea I think the younger priests are more traditional. We go to two different parishes, one kind of liberal where I've heard some of the older priests make snide comments about "people who care too much about Latin" and one with a younger priest who's pretty traditional.
JP2? You mean the Pope who travelled the world (104 trips), praising every pagan religion he could find? The same Pope who publicly kissed the antiChrist Quran? The same Pope who organised the Pagan Party at Assisi in 1986? The same Pope who destroyed what was left of the Church's missionary spirit?
@@AndrewLane-pm2ro Pagan party at Assisi? Because they held a dialogue focusing on peace between religious communities, at that time especially relevant to Catholics due to the Lebanese Civil War? 🤦♂️
@Jayce_Alexander Can you imagine the apostles and St. Paul praying with pagans and praising their false religions, as JP2 did? Unthinkable. Jesus gave the Church a mission - convert the whole world to Catholicism. JP2 sabotaged that mission by effectively encouraging pagans to remain pagans. He destroyed the missionary spirit of the Church.
I lived through this too and the Sisters of Charity who taught us catechism all left, the sense of community was gone, the library about saints and the faith gone, altars destroyed. In its place came strange folk music and odd ball Protestant like practices. Many people left the church. Kids got into drugs and hippy movement with ease, It was a very sad time for me and IMO VII was a mistake.
None of these negative things were promoted by the council- infact the documents on music promote the use of Latin plainchant as the normal music and other local music to be secondary to this. If you read the actual documents there is no way they can be used to justify what actually happened on the ground. Don’t blame the council…. It was the people who were the problem
@@rachelkingsley668 - There was no reason for Vatican II. None! The Church didn’t need to change we need to change to become more Christ like. Vatican II was a complete and utter disaster. It opened the door for those who infiltrated the Church and gave them the opportunity to make changes to begin to destroy the faith. Best thing the Church should do today is pretend Vatican II never happened and go back to Old ways! If the Church did that I guarantee the faith would once again be reborn and society would improve because of it.
@@rachelkingsley668 I’ve heard and somewhat believed this argument. However, my gutt tells me otherwise. The fruits of VII says otherwise. “By their fruits, you shall know them”.
A cradle Catholic born to unwed mother in 1969 who was from a good Catholic family, but my grandmother was widowed when my mom was a teen, causing much turmoil in the family. My grandmother & uncles helped my mom raise me. I went to the same small town Catholic school as my Mom for 2 years but when she married my step-dad we constantly moved around and I went to public school after that. and even so she had me in CCD it was very poor instruction in the 70’s catholic school did not seem to teach much about our faith in the ‘70’s but I had nothing to compare it to. I eventually fell away from the Church. Strangely I ended up marrying another Catholic who was no longer practicing, somehow we were allowed to marry in the Church! (I am grateful for the relaxed rules in this case) And our priest’s name was actually Jesus, no kidding. It was a wonderful event we both took seriously. 🥰. We haven’t been good Catholics as I hoped we would, but after 17 years of a long & loving marriage but NOT practicing our faith (I did however always pray personally) we hit a rough patch when my grandmother died and my husband had a mid-life crisis. I hit rock bottom, but in this process began listening to a recording of the daily Rosary in my car several mornings per week. This led to more prayers an eventual surrender to God (not easy!) miraculously He guided me and the entire situation to save our marriage so that our marriage, I returned fully to the Church eventually and am very involved now after many years, and my husband has not fully returned but is now attending Mass with me. (Please pray for him!) He has not yet fully surrendered, and am praying it will not take a terrible crisis for this to happen like it did with me. All those years away I thirsted for spiritual knowledge and found all my information about Christianity from “educational” sources and I realize now these programs on educational/history tv are created by enemies of the faith or occultists with “strange doctrines” - these sources led me to mistrust Mary, the Church and even Jesus! We must be very wary of our sources. I am so thankful I am stubbornly persistent and God is even more so 🥰. Upon returning to my beloved Catholic Church I barely recognized it from my childhood even so that was the 70’s, I call it the peace & love era of the Church where many things became very lax, it was STILL more traditional than it has become now. Maybe they just had not implemented all changes yet in the ‘70’s. I am very fortunate to have found a more traditional parish now and have taken it upon myself to learn, and pray constantly - including lauds, the office, vespers and completed Bible in a Year. Wow! The Bible is what actually back to physical Mass during covid. AND eventually confession and communion again! (I knew better than to receive communion without confession, but confessed I had a few times over the years during my sporadic Church attendance - realize now how I depsetately CRAVED Jesus!) During my “studies” seeking spirituality before my reversion I was awoken to the very satanic NWO truth you are up against now (we all are) and it had everything to do with my realization that satan IS real and it cemented my belief in God (I was flaky before), and I recognized the Church I was born into IS God’s Church - but now what is happening is heart breaking and I know how wrong it is - I pray for you and all those fighting the good fight daily. My point was, even so the Church teachings are lacking, I am a living example of how if you still stay close to Jesus and He will still watch out for us and guide us to where He wants us, back to Him! He knows full well what all is going on, as you well know. It has been going on for some time Satanists are trying to steal the entire Church, for it’s power, and the Latin Mass is a big sacred part of it. They try to steal EVERYTHING from God for their sick/twisted purposes, knowing how powerful it all is and wanting it for themselves. we must not allow it!
I'm using the Baltimore Catechism rn to teach the Faith to my daughter, and am about to go through the Catechism of Saint Pius X, Baltimore No. 4 & the Catechism of the Council of Trent myself...between that & praying the Rosary daily I'm shifting quickly from a reluctant Protestant to a Traditionalist Catholic.
@@the_abandoned_monastery7218 and? I mentioned 3 different catechisms (published in 1566, 1885 & 1910), I suppose you'd rather I stay Protestant, I'm leaving Protestantism for the same reason I would not join a Novus Ordo parish, I don't need a Christian Contemporary Rock concert followed by TED Talk about Jesus...I need real worship, I need the liturgical legacy of my own ancestors...but go ahead and keep chasing people away from the Faith, Orthodoxy has plenty of room for them.
@@reeferfranklin the most recent catechism is good enough. I’m not telling you to join a rock concert, but you need to take heed of idolizing the past. I’m guilty myself of traveling a few minutes extra to go to a “more reverent” mass. It is “novus ordo”, but the priests are less liberal than my immediate parish. It is a struggle of mine as well, but these are the challenges that we face as Catholics in Jesus’ command to love thy neighbor as thyself. We are under the aegis of our local parish and should really be praying for those souls even if we don’t attend that parish. What the Church has reformed should not be scoffed at though. The latest catechism is what is most important because it is written according to our time. Because our tradition is a living one, we must adhere to the needs of the people at this particular moment in time, just like the Pope teaches accordingly to the current needs. Hope that helps.
Cardinal Burke is a hero of mine. I am saying the 9 month Novena to Our "Lady of Guadelupe, at his invitation. The Cardinal is a National Treasure. God Bless him.
Great pastor. He has followers for all over the world.
Pray, pray, pray for prelates like Cardinal Burke: for our Blessed Mother to wrap Her Mantle around him for his protection, and to send Her Legions, along with St Michael the Archangel, to defend our priests! JMJ+ 😇
If Cardinal Burke would conduct and teach an online classes on Catholic Cathecism himself, I will surely sacrifice my time to take it. He must be a very good teacher.
If God called me to marriage order to the convent I would not abandon my location sadly he hasn't given me a discernible one but I will never abandon our Catholic faith please pray for me
An interesting observation from Cardinal Burke on Vatican 2. Pray that Jesus will calm the storm with much turmoil and confusion. Jesus I trust in You!
As a native St.Louisian, I can tell you this much about Burke he is really good at reminding those below him of their vow of obedience. However, when it comes to his vow of obedience, he seems to suffer from bouts of selective amnesia.
I have a friend who went to the seminary in the 1970's. He got admonished for praying the rosary and the homos were joining like crazy with total immunity
that they saw an inconsistency in the faith they were taught and the faith being practiced. not saying it was right what they did but imagine having your whole world turned upside down that’s one hundred percent hard
The thing I don’t understand is one of the things that makes us Catholic is the trusting in Jesus words about the gates of hell not prevailing.. why is everyone always so concerned and always thinking our church is up to something bad. Do we not believe in Jesus anymore?
If you read the letters, etc., of Vatican II and onward, you will see that is not about Vatican II but about its implementation. The ball was dropped. Pope Benedict XVI tried to fix it, and Pope Francis...seemed to give up on the Latin Rite, which I think any who wish to worship at the TLM should be able to do so, or in Japanese, Portuguese, etc. That was one of the main foci of Vatican II. Pray for the Holy Father. Things will get better.
I LOVE Cardinal Burke. One of the few Cardinals I've seen who presents himself as truly humble and holy. He is part of the reason why I returned to the church. My diocese had priests and bishops who were, frankly, evil. Their actions removed all trust I had in the leadership of the church.

I have an aunt who took her final vows prior to Vatican II. In 1969, I was 6 years old, and the aunt came to our house. My mother commented on her yellow dress and asked her if she got out of the convent because she wasn't wearing her habit. She replied "Heck no sis! We don't wear those old things anymore. Its Vatican II get with the program!" My mother was absolutely dumbfounded. I remember that like it was yesterday. Eventually my aunt married a priest who lift the priesthood, and the wedding was done in the "Catholic Church".😡
Seems a form of bigomy by your aunt and the priest taking marriage vows since both had prior religious vows. If valid marriage vows can not be dissolved, then how can valid religious vows?
I drive 30 minutes to a gorgeous Novus Ordo Mass celebrated by the Dominican Brothers. I try and avoid my local parish as much as possible because too many people are receiving communion irreverently from women wearing jeans and sandals. The Dominican mass has honestly improved my view of Vatican II because I have seen how beautiful it can be!
The poorly catechized often come out after an ecumenical council as they believe they know more about our religion than the whole of college of bishops and pope in establishing a something modeled after council of Jerusalem. We don’t see dissenters after it in Acts. We see St Paul teaching unity. There is no unity or Catholicism in dissent and disunity from the pope and college of bishops in communion with him.
I'm a layman, exactly the cardinal's age with the same youthful catechesis, and I have been on exactly the same page for fifty years. I believe the Mass reached its final perfection in 1962 and that with Vatican II the Holy Spirit shut down all further changes. Today the perfected Mass is under the patronage of St. Joseph. Think about that for a minute.
The results of my assessment below has resulted in that faithful who are holding truth are persecuted & pushed away or out, in the now much female dominated Church.
I think the title of this short should be changed to "the hijacking of Vatican II." The issue was what ppl did with the council - the media, liberal theologians and clergy. Check out Reclaiming Vatican II by Fr. Blake Britton.
You are saying Modernists misinterpreted the documents they wrote themselves. Not so. 'Vatican 2' instituted new doctrine, a new religion, and altered sacraments to prove it....especially a new consecration rite, which leaves their 'clergy' phased out of Apostolic Succession. It's a new entity that is not Catholic.
@@divinecomedian2 see Bishop Sanborn and Roman Catholic Institute, Bishop McGuire and St. Gertrude the Great , Bishop Pivarunas and CMRI. There you will find validly ordained priests who took the oath against modernism and hold the true Catholic faith with the Tridentine Mass.
Strange, but some time ago, I read that the original instrumentum laboris for Vatican II were scraped as soon as the council convened and new ones were drafted. When I read this, one word jumped into my mind, "Hijacked". Up until now, I had wondered if it was just me being foolish.
The Council itself is still free from error. The hijacking part is how people presented the council afterwards. The sedevacantist position or some of the rad-trad arguments spring from the same error as the progressive ones: the council was disruptive in its essence and intention.
Every so often, I think the Sisters who taught our generation would crawl out of their graves if they could, just to get us back in line with the Faith.
Now, we are in an excellent age for fishing. More and more people are choosing, due to our cultural decline, to revert to abstinence and celibacy but remain distracted by the noise of secularism. We may have an ocean of potential priests and sisters.
I was born in the late 80s, and I grew up on Baltimore Catechism and TLM(FSSP altar boy, and part-time Anglican rite because they needed help). Where I live, it is gone now. The Bishops have, one by one, over time, squashed the faith and I get to hear from everyone(especially Roman Catholics) all these derogatory and slanderous things about the faith that was given to me by my forefathers. About how it is prideful and selfish, idolatrous, and "not the faith". I'm Orthodox now, because I hit rock bottom in my life and before I died, I just wanted to go to church. The Roman Catholic churches provide the same thing I can get from a Lutheran church. When I needed a lifeboat and said "I just want to go back to the instantiation of faith I had as a kid, that was my reason for living, the joy of my youth", the only one left was the EO parish I loved as a kid. Say what you want about the Greeks, they have kept their flame alight for the past 80 years while the RCC has held theirs under seige, hoping it dies of old age. They never gave me the option of struggling with my doubts about various RCC dogmas, because they want me to grab the eucharist like a cracker jack from a closeted gay man while they sing songs from the 70s. They want to focus more on some random country woman's visions than on Christ Himself and my own struggle to work out my faith. The constant refrain that this is some relic of antiquity or prideful elderly memory of "the good old days" is hogwash. I am right here. I am not even 40, I have children I am raising, and Rome has abandoned me, Rome has made it clear that it doesn't want me. I cannot give them what I was given as a boy. They want me to violate my conscience for the sake of people who will never love the church. I'm not angry, I am heartbroken, and I don't think it's going to get better. I have to be honest with myself. I was raised Rad Trad, and I agree...it *was* pretty rad.
Your Baltimore Catechism taught you that the true Church is the one under the authority of the Roman Pontiff. Have you forgotten that truth or are you simply disobeying it?
Notice he didn't really answer the question. When he eas Bishop in Wisconsin I sat in his office to tell him about my spiritual journey and after ten minutes he'd fallen asleep. His priest assistant told me not to worry. "He may be asleep but he hears everything." I never heard back from him again.
His Eminence is known to get sleepy like that (I've had the same experience). But, he's a good man (just very tired often due to his hard work). If you write a letter to him, I can pretty much guarantee he'll write you-- he always responds to letters, very kind man.
@@AMDG_JMJ I'm sure he is. But had you grown up in that part of the world, as I did, you'd know how easy it was to to cling romantically to a fading past. Somnambulism was surely part of it.
It looks like the faithful laity will have to protect the Church in the near future. We don't have to follow poor Bishops. When they reveal who they are don't go to their churches 😮
The problem is, is that too many bishops went along with the way of the world and the good bishops were to weak or afraid to speak up and stand up against the corruption. Catechism was lost after Vatican 2 so the generations after it didn't get the proper and full teaching of catholicism. It's just been in the last few years where priests and bishops have been more willing to speak up and fight against the corruption and decay that moderenism has brought in.
At least he seems to understand the kind of disaster the council bring to the Church, sadly many still defend the council and see nothing wrong with it, see that everything is good, while it has evolve itself into conciliar church with so many unaware.
No one ever mentions the parts of the Baltimore Catechism that were somewhat disputed. Specifically, baptism by desire has been accepted but I do not think it has been formally declared by Rome.
"Devil" from the Greek diabolos can be translated as "to divide" or "to throw against". In contrast, Christ called us to UNITY, "that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me." Catholics must stay strong in our love of God and obedience to the Magesterium as expressed by Church Councils and Pope Francis. Reject the arrogance and schism of self-appointed authorities who sow division in the Church!
Burke’s comments are silly. The changes were welcome who grew weary of the old mass and the bells and smells. Today we hear the texts - the words of Jesus, Paul and the Prophets and we are called to discern their meaning in our faith journey.
This is so sad. How did someone who couldn't bear SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM become a cardinal... I had no idea how deeply his faith crisis went, bur it makes a lot of sense now...

I don’t think this is helpful content to promote live hope and joy in the faithfuls lives … even the ominous music , why are we trying to throw people into doubt in the Church and fear and worry ???? Is this Gods way?
There's always confusion after a Council, but the recent on coincided with an even greater Socio/ political upheaval, which the Council inadvertently opened the doors to Secularity. Abandoning,@ the same time, erroneously the long, & deeply held Held bulwark of defending the Faith, but not the Faith itself.
The more I learn, the more I believe I believe it would be a sin for me to remain here. That is because God opened my eyes. If someone doesn't see what I see, he or she ought not leave. But I cannot remain here. It is like hanging on to the Jerusalem Temple in 69 AD. I know I must flee. The barbarians aren't just at the gate, they control the Vatican. I don't know enough to get involved in the sedevacantism debate. However it happened, the papacy has been seized. It's 69 AD and I am fleeing the Temple in the doomed city of Jerusalem.

At the same time, the Satan also swept so many in the world with drugs, sex and rock 'n' roll. So many souls lost. Jesus is active in the Church and asks our fidelity. The gatws of hell will not prevail aginst his Church.

@@AndrewLane-pm2ro yea the same pope who is a saint today
May our Lady protect Cardinal Burke.

The liturgy will reach its final perfection in Heaven and only there.

The Council itself is still free from error. The hijacking part is how people presented the council afterwards. The sedevacantist position or some of the rad-trad arguments spring from the same error as the progressive ones: the council was disruptive in its essence and intention.

Now, we are in an excellent age for fishing. More and more people are choosing, due to our cultural decline, to revert to abstinence and celibacy but remain distracted by the noise of secularism. We may have an ocean of potential priests and sisters.
I respect the Catholic Church even though I am not Catholic.
Come join us in the Church that Jesus Himself founded. We are the Church of the Apostles.

I think many religious today think that nothing bad happened with the introduction of Vatican II from 1962 to 1980
You understand why I became a Melchizedek Priesthood Elder through the LDS church now.

When did this happen? Was it a response to Vatican 2 or was Vatican 2 the response?
