Mech Mage will 100% be a top tier deck. People slept on it during the pre release I guess due to the 10 card rule but the deck is nuts with rotation and what was added. So much tempo with the new 1 drop into shark curves and fat refill
@@Cuestrupaster Yea Trump straight up gave the new 1 mana 2 / 1mech a 1 star because he said mechs are gonna be bad. Trump forgot how much generation and reduction mech mage has with their dredge unit and 3 mana spell. This new 2 / 1 can enable nasty plays like a 5 to 6 mana mech mage colossus. Heck discovering the 2 / 1 make it cost 0.
Still convinced Rainbow Death Knight is gonna be better than expected. It did show up in the meta for a bit, after all, and only really didn't take off cause it lacked a finisher like CNE
@Alex 5432 This is the issue. It doesn't matter how good the pay off is when you have to play a 5 mana pile of stats first since it is the "least bad" spender in rainbow. If Rainbow had access to Marrowgar or Marrow Manipulator to dump corpses I would be all for it, but Ghost Bride ain't it.
Rogue does have some really brutal combos with Astalor. A late game finisher would be Astalor, swing with Record Scratcher for 7 refresh (up to 9), MC Blingtron, Bounce Around, and Astalor again for double damage (42 total). He for long tried to make it in one video to make it shorter, he tried a bunch of things in the past like reviewing each class, then 3 by 3, and I think he finally got it, being very concize is good...
The card is probably good enough in MOST aggro decks as a 3 mana 1/5 that domes the opponent for 4. Trump saying the card is bad because it requires a minion on board is extremely out of touch considering any deck running it is going to be on board and probably running like 24+ minions. If you are in a board centric match up (aka tempo/aggro mirrors which are most common in these metas) the card most likely puts in a lot of work ESPECIALLY if you can buff a taunt. While I don't see super diverse menagerie decks popping off, I could see a lower curve Hunter deck running this and Party Animal anyway for the mechs/beasts they'd already run and this being a 2/6 makes it almost impossible to cleanly kill to remove the buff.
I feel like beast hunter is being highly underrated, considering its already a tier 2 deck and were getting rush minions and a full board rez is much more than a 1 star.
I think he underrated it, BUT you can't use the current ranking as an argument. Mountain bear is a massive reason hunter can even consider playing a late game plan, and it's rotating. The hero card is a great stabalising tool, also rotating. One of our best mana-cheat/board winning cards is also rotating, Pet collector. We also just saw a resurgence of the Vandarr + Bunker package being our best build, that's rotating too. We're also losing ichman and RAT King, which were decent. In short, the beast hunter you know now, no longer exists after rotation.
@@Bladius_ Rat King and Mountain Bear were the best "fast" options to be cheating out and being gone completely gimp any stabalizing the deck had that making it to 10 mana to bring back....Hydralodon? Is definitely not feasible or worth it. I think Hunter will probably be "fine", but it will definitely be as a traditional faster deck either with Nagas or moving back to Shadehound stuff.
@@amethonys2798 I only play hunter, so I'll be building a Naga- Spell list day 1; seems the most reliable and I already own most of the deck. Big beasts I'll wait to craft once I see if it works or not, since it uses two new legendaries, it's a big risk case. Shadehound is a super powerful card, but that Zoo deck was never actually good, it was super overplayed with awful winrates. It'll need a totally new deck. Losing Leatherworking kit, devouring swarm and Rat King is really bad for it; that's card draw and stabalising tools just gone with no replacement. At least Barrel of monkeys replaces Pack mule.
i really midd the old format card-by-card reting with the iconic "five stars" trump catch phrase this video just dont hit the same spot in my heart yet :/
If you think you can actually get away with playing a 5 mana do nothing against aggro that also doesn't let you play minions in your deck you are delusional. The card is objectively worse Skull of the Menari.
@@amethonys2798 Oh yeah, I'm sure the class with early game divine shield minions, top notch board clears, and borderline infinite healing is really gonna struggle against aggro. @@Cuestrupaster Very valid question. For now, that's it's biggest weakness (only countess/lightray/guy synergy comes to mind). However, once Paladin gets some support for this archetype Kangor is going to be insane imo. @@ForceOfWill100 early game divine shield minions? Oh, I sure hope you enjoy pulling the 2/1 off Kangor or the 6 drop instead of Annoy-o-Troupe then..... We playing Kangor and praying it lives or they kill it and we win a 50/50 where we lose the game half the time?
What would have been nice is highlighting a card whenever he first mentions it so you don't have to search for it with your eyes, just a small nitpick :)
Sorry Trump, but I just cannot get behind the fact that you said Imp Warlock will be tier 2. It's hardly losing any cards and has been tier 1 for last 6 months. (Diamond - Legend) I believe it will be the strongest deck that you can play. Other than that, loving the review as always!
besides hero power druid, rainbow DK is the deck I'm most excited to try. If I somehow pack CNE I want to build a mine deck that uses boneshredder as a combo piece and corpse spender, double the value!! Then CNE doesn't have to be my only win condition but still can be or a big heal/swing
Big Paladin is working out well so far due to nobody running silences, suspect with the way a lot of decks are working out that there's going to be much more run in the next week.
Trump underestimating the Warlock fatigue stuff feels like how a lot of people judged the Abyssal Curse cards during the time before Voyage to the Sunken City came out...although, at least he's giving them 4 stars this time.
Kibbler was also undefeated with Menagerie Warrior hahaha. The closed meta isn't a great showing for meta though, I will say. People are playing for fun, not with actual cut-throat aggro decks and the like.
@@Bladius_ flashy cards always look better in the theorycraft streams because people want to play the new "cool" cards and aggro decks USUALLY don't do well under the 10+ new cards restriction.
@@amethonys2798 For sure. A big one this time around, which will crush all these slow decks, is Mech mage; which is likely tier 1. I really can't believe where after like 2 years of people being frustrated with mana cheat and cost reduction, Blizzard not only gives Rogue "Mega Shadowstep" but a card that REFRESHES MANA. Class philosophy? Never heard of it!
He doesn't do it anymore because of the frequent balance changes and addition of mini-sets which make these videos fall out of date very quickly when the format can be upended with nerfs at a moment's notice. Those videos are meant as a re-assessment with hindsight, but fail at that when changes you couldn't have foreseen happened in the meantime.

The rare cards appear in the same ratio as common cards. The epic and legendary cards appear in almost the same ratio aswell. Every year it gets worse. Why are we not speaking about this?
Why? Dissonant is Heroic Strike, a card that I don't remember ever seeing play, plus 2 Armor. And the Harmonic side is worse than an Iron Hide + Pounce.
I was thinking maybe ASStalor rogue isn't THAT strong because you need to get to 10 mana before it deals 14... although you probably can still do a lot of damage dealing only 7...
I feel like the issue with Freebird is it's a bit expensive to put the first one out, and it only starts to feel good when you hit the 3rd or 4th one, which seems like a non-ideal combination. Like, it seems hard to believe that whatever gimmick you're using to bounce and replay it wouldn't get better results with something that was more impactful right out the gate, you know?
@@Cuestrupaster Yeah, that's definitely part of the issue, printing Astalors both sets up lethal damage at the end, and gets you a ton of armor in the middle, etc. Perfect example of what I was thinking of. Mech Mage will 100% be a top tier deck. People slept on it during the pre release I guess due to the 10 card rule but the deck is nuts with rotation and what was added. So much tempo with the new 1 drop into shark curves and fat refill
Yeah I can see Mech Mage being super good. Also with how much mech discover the deck has. So many Zilliax' incoming.
you think holotechnician makes the cut in that deck? maybe in etc?
It's not that people slept on it, I will say it's more that people wanted to try something new, but sure it will be good deck...
@@Cuestrupaster Trump said mechs will not be good lol
I would say the major problem is the corpse spenders that aren't that good...
Wow, that Tony combo move, brings back memories when we played Togwaggle, Explore Ungoro followed by Skulking Geist.
I always preferred the ratings when it was obe by one - now its too much on the screen at a time.. 😢
It just occurs to me that Shadowstep sounds likes a dance move too, just like Bounce Around and Breakdance, and all three do similar things.
I WILL WATCH THESE FOREVER!!
Rogue does have some really brutal combos with Astalor. A late game finisher would be Astalor, swing with Record Scratcher for 7 refresh (up to 9), MC Blingtron, Bounce Around, and Astalor again for double damage (42 total).
Obvious overkill and not needed in most cases but it just shows the potential.
Edit-Guess he ended up trying something like this next day, lol. I'm sure he didn't get the idea from me, BTW
Is it just me or are his star rating videos getting shorter with every expansion? :D
He for long tried to make it in one video to make it shorter, he tried a bunch of things in the past like reviewing each class, then 3 by 3, and I think he finally got it, being very concize is good...
Probably because 90% of the neutrals were 1 star and not much to say about them
:D :D :D :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
rowdy fan seems good in unholy aggro dk as an egg activator (even if nothing sticks which is unlikely, worst case scenario is using it on hero power)
You know what to do, invest in every deck that Trump rated 1* and 2*
that would be a great way to waste your gold and dust and possibly time
Thank you for making this video in a format that I can screenshot for quick reference!
Kind of surprising that half of the card stars here were wrong
I can see weapon removal being a prominent thing with how many good weapons that require buffing them to exist.
I have been waiting for this video since all the Festival of Legends was announced. Trump's star rating videos are always so entertaining to watch!!
I’m quite fond of this format, good editing too.
I feel like beast hunter is being highly underrated, considering its already a tier 2 deck and were getting rush minions and a full board rez is much more than a 1 star.
👍🏻
I'm so surprised the warrior is bad and that Rogue seems good. I never would have thought this.
What's Warrior?
i really midd the old format card-by-card reting with the iconic "five stars" trump catch phrase
this video just dont hit the same spot in my heart yet :/
Bookmarking this for when Kangor, Dancing King becomes an absolute control menace lol
Ok, but how do you win with control paladin?
If you think you can actually get away with playing a 5 mana do nothing against aggro that also doesn't let you play minions in your deck you are delusional. The card is objectively worse Skull of the Menari.
@@amethonys2798 Oh yeah, I'm sure the class with early game divine shield minions, top notch board clears, and borderline infinite healing is really gonna struggle against aggro. Think of it like this: it's void caller, but gives your minion lifesteal. And we all remember how "terrible" void caller was...
@@Cuestrupaster Very valid question. For now, that's it's biggest weakness (only countess/lightray/guy synergy comes to mind). However, once Paladin gets some support for this archetype Kangor is going to be insane imo. Almost every mana-cheating card has been really, really good, and this is a mana cheating card that grants lifesteal.
@@ForceOfWill100 early game divine shield minions? Oh, I sure hope you enjoy pulling the 2/1 off Kangor or the 6 drop instead of Annoy-o-Troupe then.....
I swear do people even read what the cards do? You can't play low cost minions in this deck because Kangor is random. If you have Kangor and a 1 drop in hand on turn 5 what is the play? We playing Kangor and praying it lives or they kill it and we win a 50/50 where we lose the game half the time?
What would have been nice is highlighting a card whenever he first mentions it so you don't have to search for it with your eyes, just a small nitpick :)
can you please keep the star ratings with archetype cards presentation together, not in the order of mana cost. i think its easier to follow
Warlock is tier 1?
"its very hard to heal during your turn as a blood death knight." Well that is a missplaced phrase
arena player he is
besides hero power druid, rainbow DK is the deck I'm most excited to try. If I somehow pack CNE I want to build a mine deck that uses boneshredder as a combo piece and corpse spender, double the value!! Then CNE doesn't have to be my only win condition but still can be or a big heal/swing
Seeing this live was kinda fun
Big Paladin is working out well so far due to nobody running silences, suspect with the way a lot of decks are working out that there's going to be much more run in the next week.
Trump underestimating the Warlock fatigue stuff feels like how a lot of people judged the Abyssal Curse cards during the time before Voyage to the Sunken City came out...although, at least he's giving them 4 stars this time.
It actually was trash and had to be buffed, I think the fatigue stuff is already good as it is
Curse package WAS trash. It got multiple buffs to make it playable.
You mean the curse staff that was trash and got major buffs?
~That still loses to a bunch of aggro decks?
I think Deathrattle Rainbow DK will be high tier 3, perhaps low Tier 2 even
His rating of Priest tells me he didn't watch any of Kibbler's priest gameplay.
It literally couldn't be built in the theorycraft because all it's best cards are in sunken city and core set (and the two amalgams, of course), it only uses "Frequency Oscillator" from the new set.
Thanks for the video!
I miss the old days of the 3 hour long videos
I really can't believe where after like 2 years of people being frustrated with mana cheat and cost reduction, Blizzard not only gives Rogue "Mega Shadowstep" but a card that REFRESHES MANA.
Class philosophy? Never heard of it!
Class philosophy is to bully your opponents out of the game.
Oh my god the horror! Why didnt they just reprint River Croc and Boulderfist Ogre for every class????
great video format, thank you for content :)
I haven't played HS in 5 years...why do I keep watching these reviews
What was he cooking with paladin?
Kangor seemed absolutely busted in the theorycraft stream
I was skeptical before then, but 1 star now? Hmmmm
At what time will the new set come out? 10:00 Uhr PDT?
Trump was not cooking with paladin
10:30 how did he say jazz?
Neutral Minions are rated too harshly, Audio Amplifier, Cover Artist, Ghost Writer and Amplified Elek have some potential
rowdy fan being two stars is criminal.
The paladin control cards are better than they seem.
They aren't bad but Starlight Groove ain't Cariel and control pally was already a tier below Blood DK.
He gave Funkfin 1 star?!
I never click a video faster.
Speaking of why doesnt Trump do the Trump Reviews Trump Reviews anymore. Those were really fun to watch.
You had to play a 8 mana legendary to get that now 2 mana mage weapon. Not to mention barrel of monkies. What power creep?
It's okay to powercreep bad stuff. It's not an inherently bad thing, some creep is needed.
Barrel of Monkeys is a perfect example of good creep.
The paladin slander is just inconceivable. I just can't see a world where menagerie war is tier 2-3 but pally isn't. Also, i feel like Trump, including a lot of stremers, sleeps on new mage mech, and fatigue vombo warlock. Mark my words this decks gonna hit harder than you might think
He gave the paladin weapon 5 stars, which means he thinks it will be in a tier 1 deck (pure paladin).
Bare in mind, in the theory streams you have run 10+ new cards; mech mage wouldn't work, it uses a lot of cards from old sets, mainly sunken City.
Nah bro you gotta put the stats at the end of the review like you usually do!
I look forwars to these every expansion
These ratings set me right day one by crushing all my hopes and memes.
I really hate typing Trump on RUclips. This is worth it.
is there's a revaluation of these cards while new expansion is coming?
No 5 stars for the bananas ?
That's coming back to bite you Trump. The Chimp Mafia is strong.
I fell like you underrated paladin too heavily
Yeah, wild that Paladin had a lower total than Warrior
"Warrior can win when the other guy has no deck" yeah we'll see about that.
Who would've thought that for Warrior to win all he needs is to fight with someone who has no deck...
~Depending on their hand they still lose...
@@Cuestrupaster the other deck of Menagerie Warrior is also like 20 neutrals or whatever so it turns out the other win condition is to just not play Warrior cards....
He didn't even say any of the star ratings, just what tier they were gonna be at.
Curses, now I am sad.
funny how Trump feels like combo rogue is gonna be insane, and yet gives no value to Rin and her potential to kill off combo pieces 4 TIMES, like that is INSANE.
Mark my words, combo decks will run rampant and Rin+Dirty rat will be the saving grace for Warlock.
Combo rogue is about playing cards with the Combo mechanic, not playing a specific combination of cards tho
@@benkolya right, but if you take away astalor or whatever bounce payoff minon they want to play with, what is gonna happen exactly?
lol
what is a star rating? Never heard of that. A plug in?
I can't believe this disrespect, bunch of Bananas is 6-star. Best card in the set.

Appreciated.
Haven’t seen anyone rate Shaman this highly. Looks so average to me
If you build a 3 frost rune deck, can you put a blood rune card in ETC band manager?
No, ETC respects the runes you have. It’ll even show the runes locked when you build the sideboard
Tomorrows the day!!
weird, saying paladins not great and overheal priest as well. They both looked quite strong to me.
It’s been months since i played hearthstone, and it seems as if warrior is never gonna get anywhere near playable. Which sucks, since it’s the only class i play. I kinda miss the game
Boogie Down: 1 star.
But what if I just toss in bubble (divine shield) 1-cost minions and play it on turn 3? 😂
The priest spell i rlly think is a 5 stars card, that spell make infinite value and infinite mana chest for priest
What about Trump's Top 10 of the set?
14:25 "It's really inconsistent because they're both legendary cards" Do we have less chance to draw a legendary ? Never knew that or I'm just misunderstanding?
he's just saying it's inconsistent because your deck can only have one copy of each, so it's difficult to draw both of them.
It's because you can only put a single copy in a deck instead of the usual two, thus drawing it less consistently.
@@joaosena3727 Ah okay thanks for clearing that up
@@guyston684 It's also in Warrior which has horrendously bad card draw to dig through their deck to begin with ESPECIALLY for this sort of combo which wants a lot of minions (to play the buffs).
Toni Warrior also relies on drawing a legendary, but since the win condition is a small assortment of cards, you can run next to no minions and tutor both Toni and Steamcleaner with the Chorus Riff and only have to hard draw the Fires.
It’s here
I don't agree with most of those.
Paladin looks underrated
Rogue looks VERY underrated
Mr Mukla slots in the same decks as bunch of bananas, in Face Hunter, because it's a 6 mana 10/10
Rowdy Fan (the best card of the expansion) getting 2 stars is a blasphemy.
ETC at 5 stars is a lmao.
The background image should be subdued, seems a bit too busy.
Taste of chaos 1 star?!???????? this card is so good
Good to see Trump gave Synthesize a 4* rating. Zeddy rated it worst card, when cards like holotechnican exist in the same class
The rare cards appear in the same ratio as common cards. The epic and legendary cards appear in almost the same ratio aswell. Every year it gets worse. Why are we not speaking about this?
1 star for harmonic mood is deranged
Why? Dissonant is Heroic Strike, a card that I don't remember ever seeing play, plus 2 Armor. And the Harmonic side is worse than an Iron Hide + Pounce.
Saved 6 minutes only for warrior lol
Mosh pit 1 star is a massive joke 😂
so you not gonna say anything how low he rated pala cards?? XD
I was thinking maybe ASStalor rogue isn't THAT strong because you need to get to 10 mana before it deals 14... although you probably can still do a lot of damage dealing only 7...
yeah and by then a control deck will just have theotar, and a faster one will kill rogue. rogue is awful against good aggro
@@qwejy go ahead and theotar their astalor....they only have 3 more in their hand.....
Please make a video reacting/rerate to the previous ones are leaving
Lul Trump rated Freebird as 1 star and rogues bounce package 5 star. My bet Freebird will be the new "Caverns Below, 1 star". :D
I think Freebird will be the card that will haunt Trump this expansion. Imho definitely not a 1 Star card and could be extremely powerful in Rogue.
Won't you fly...
Meh... ASStalor seems better...
it will haunt him all the way down in tier 4, lol.
@@Cuestrupaster Yeah, that's definitely part of the issue, printing Astalors both sets up lethal damage at the end, and gets you a ton of armor in the middle, etc. Perfect example of what I was thinking of.
That being said, I'm sure a deck with a good enough bounce/recursion engine could get wins with Free Bird, it's just they'd get more wins if they did something else.
OTK Priest inc to standard, pin this and mock my words.
How is blackrock n'roll better than the paladin legendaries
