I was the Media Manager for the PDGA from 2011-2019. Left right before the COVID boom. I really appreciate these kinds of videos. Good stuff, dude. Keep it up.
🤣Because it was greatly overpriced then too? You don't lose your # if you don't renew it, you just don't have any of the benefits it offers if it's not active.
Agreed! PDGA is a monopolistic, money hustling caveman company! I'll go out on a limb and say the organization rarely if ever donated back to the community in terms of course development and maintenance. They expect local disc golfers to grow the sport while they take in profits. Get bent PDGA , and Innova who work so closely together!
tour courses need to be built to allow for a gallery on either side of the fairway with walking paths. designers can take a look at how ball golf allows their gallery to be able to walk the courses and follow their fav players. some simple investments on the courses themselves can take the sport a long way
Keep in mind that disc golf is huge in Finland. There's far more local interest than usual, and the spectating space is limited, at The Monster especially. If it was $100 for a free-roam ticket, every casual Finnish disc golfer would be buying one, there would be far fewer international tourists as the tickets would run out, and that's far less profitable for the cities of Nokia and Tampere. I don't know the actual numbers and I could be mistaken. But to me it makes sense that the prices need to be a little higher to prioritize the international live audience, which is probably going to be the biggest money maker for sponsors/funders. Obviously no ticket is worth 15k. But I don't blame them for offering it.
It goes both ways on tour. Some events the Vip's do not get any value. Look at DDO. We got 4 metal bleachers which the GA people could set up seats beside and literally nothing else
A friend of a friend was a waiter in a very upscale restaurant. A customer came and started moaning about the high prices. He just said "It only feels that way when you're poor".
Yeah um, NO. I will never spend 15,725.25 U.S. dollars to watch disc golf live in Europe. LMAO. IF.....IF....I ever flew overseas to watch disc golf, it would only happen if I can do it all (airfare, lodging, food, transportation, tickets, etc.) under $3K per person. LMAO. I wouldn't spend $15K to watch an NFL, MLB, NBA, The World Cup, or The Olympic games in Europe, so yeah, I would NEVER spend $15K for the DGPT. LMAO. 🤣🤣
The fansale site only allows you to resell your tickets at the original price or below that, so scalping shouldn't luckily be so easy. It even says that in the screenshot you posted.
Charging ppl SO much money to watch disc golf is just ridiculous... Just ensuring only the most dedicated disc golfer will pay .... Did they not watch the Estonia event with thousands of ppl there that's growth almost never see that at tournaments with these dumb prices ....
I think the point of the $15,000 ticket is not that it's economical, it's more of a "You're giving a substantial monetary gift/donation to the sport, and so we'll accommodate you very well for doing so". Their target audience/market aren't those of us that are just trying to get by, or maybe those of us who are well off. Their target market is the very top dollar earners who happen to be fans of disc golf. The aim is to give them an avenue for their dollars to go into the sport
you're missing many big points here, the 15k ticket is whatever, it's for the people that has a lot of money and just want the best there is to get and give back to the sport, and that's just smart to have something like that available (it also sold in an hour or so, and i think i heard they are putting more up to sale, maybe just one more, maybe more). and for the vip tickets, first of all, that was only the early bird sale, they are not "sold out" yet. secondly, they are VIP, don't forget that. there are many more tickets up for grabs that cost way less than vip tickets. and people are able to watch the worlds free, every single day, there will be two pools for the first 4 days playing both courses, tampere course is heavily wooded, which is why there HAS to be tickets sold so ppl can actually see something and stay safe (and players have room to actually play) but nokia will be free as always, with some wooded holes only for ticket holders, same reason for that.
It’s just a good fundraising move on their part. Some people who have the money to spend can have a cool experience. I don’t see anything wrong with it.
It's not "15,000 euros for 1 ticket", it's a package as you go on to describe. But of course you're desperate to make it into something that will create clicks... Weak.

And this is why, after almost 30yrs playing, I refuse to get a pdga#. I saw the greed on the wall. It gets worse yearly.

@@stitch438 Dont want a number to be associated with these bums. Like me.

The DGPT has nothing to do with the prices for Worlds. The event is owned and operated by the PDGA.

Genius idea, can't wait to see how it plays out.

It's greedy people putting their ideas in a hat to see who's idea gets the most money grabbing it every chance they get

There are lots of 40ish year old men with money to waste.
I would go to the OTB open every year if I didn’t have to pay.

For that price you should be able to stay at silva or Evelinas house.
you NEED to edit pauses into your talking. the constant unclear robot speech combined with the jumping cuts makes this almost unwatchable
Gannon is a zero time world champion….doubt that he’s one of the world champions you’ll get to meet with this ticket.😂
PDGA and DGPT will do even worse this year. Prestigious A-tiers do not fill anymore. Greed bankrupted the sport.
"for the love of money is the root of all evil" PDGA and Innova reps need to wake up and realize what they have done to the DG community
What a take on things......
Babe, wake up, worlds tickets dropped and it'll only be $7500 a piece!!!
Is that jbeast?

LOL, that's a joke, right? I guess not...
Idk why anyone ever paid to watch when we grew up watching jomez ( which was always the best view) for free there is no point in ever paying
