The only thing missing from this video is the callout of the awesome collab that MVP did with St. Jude's Children's Hospital, sending a percentage of sales on that Shift to the charity.
I just picked up a shift. It is the most understable disc I have ever thrown. I turn it over on a backhand on the regular, but it’s fun for forehand flip ups.
I'd be curious to see the Shift vs. a non-halo Sphinx. You kept mentioning how the halo was more overstable- maybe a metal flake would be more comparable
Funny you say you would retire a first throw ace. My buddy threw my disc I just got that day for the first time and aced first throw. The Rare filmed non-owner ace. He Retired it and its on his wall after 1 throw!
I got my first ace a couple months ago (course owner was walking with me thankfully) with an MVP spin a couple months ago. I bought a new spin online before I even made it home that day. My ace spin got retired immediately and it's chilling on my wall lol
How would you compare the Shift to the Virus by Axiom? Is the shift a solo molded Virus? The proto plasma insanity is such a money disc! Lots of high speed turn and a surprising amount of low speed stability… a shot shaper’s dream! I have one you could use for a video, if you’d like, but I would need it back as it’s both sentimental to me and my favorite fairway. I only have one and no budget for backups 😂
Going along with your question by the first basket, I have asked people that if you had aced on your very first throw EVER when you first started playing disc golf, would you have continued to play or would you quit at that moment and become the only disc golf player to have never missed a shot? 😂
It is wild how dumpy MVPs drivers are. That was a flippy control driver and it still just wants to plummet to the ground when it slows down. That sphinx just wants to keep going forward even as it slows down.
I’m a big lover of the Insanity. Every time my form takes a turn for the worse that disc helps me see what needs to happen. Also, that video from Trevor was electric. You guys should throw together sometime!! I don’t think you guys are close in location though

I have a swirly S blend Sphinx and I can’t flip it either. I’m bagging a Wing It Stratosphere that’s been giving me good flip up and turn.
I do have a prism proton insanity and it is really floppy, but it's also like 156g

My max distance shot was with an avenger SS and it was 364. Definitely more useful with a tailwind but it’s so fun
