Good product vlog with some great information, when i saw the reels that you were using i thought that they look like great reels, then i looked them up on the web OMG at £375 each that is where they can stay. For two rod's and two reels = £890 you have got to be having a laugh, You say that these rods pack down so that you can fit them in your car boot for more convenience, i don't find £890 convenient in any way. Your title says Which retractable carp rods are best? so you are saying that these are the best with no comparison to any other rods, that a great unbiased video that you made!!!!
I have three of the custom ones that Daiwa did for Total Fishing Tackle. Nicer looking, better guides, nice red details. It’s the 3lb versions and they are really rather nice. My only complaint is that all three are slightly different lengths when extended.
Phenomenal rods. I got 3 10ft 3.5lb for £200 which was the price on one scope. Caught fish to 44lb 8oz on them, great playing action. I was casting 5oz solid bags which is possibly not what they were designed for but coped with it. Coupled with my castizms (older version of those whiskers) they are very well balanced. The infinity 3 rod hold-all is good for £50 too.
@@ashleyhorton1042seriously just get the 3.5lb they have a soft tip and not at all over the top broom handles. If ever you want to fling a solid bag you’ll need the 3.5lb.
@@jhardy1971 i only really fish smaller lakes m8 with lighter leads so think the 3lb should be fine 3.5lb seems to be out of stock everywhere aswell did you get yours online ?
How are you finding them? I’ve got some 8ft sonik extractor recon’s in 2.5 and 3lb tc, they are really nice but fall a bit short when using decent sized pva bags, so fancy something longer and higher to.
Hey i saw your comment and was thinking about buying the 3lb tc version. Are the black widow ones like the ones on the video with a really nice soft tip but strong back bone?
Have been using mine this season as my main carp/commercial rod. Originally bought beacause I needed someting to carry on my bike as summer cycling to the local river and lakes where I live is easy. Also meant I could be more mobile. It plays everything from 2 to 15lb with no surpries, very responsive and not heavy when playing for longer periods. So for the price it has been great value. Yes there are other rods, but for the price it does the job. This vid helped me make that decision. I use a small Daiwa Ninja or Shimano depending on which reel I forgot to bring. Lines 6-8 lb. I find casting is accurate to about 25 metres, but thats just me. If I broke it would I buy another one, probably yes because it works and I have confidence in it. Are there better rods? Of course. But for the price increases am I getting significantly improved performance? No idea.
Had those Daiwa Crosscast rods, but unfortunately Daiwa managed to screw this one up, the finish of both rods was degrading after only 3 sessions so i’ve returned them
Sonik Xtractor have better guides, can tell just by looking at them. A suitable reel to pair them with (to match the price and not just the size) would be Okuma Inception 6000's. Brilliant reel for the money and ive used mid tier daiwa and shimano reels in the past so i do have expereince to refer against.
@@mark13724278 I can't comment as to whether or not the sonik options available are better than these. judging by looks alone in the video, the eyelets/guides are better on my xtractor's. The insurgent rod's are even better than xtractor. If you are looking for a set of rods to fish small ponds to medium size lakes, you can not go wrong with a set of 10ft xtractor, paired with the okuma inception's. The drag on the inception out of the box is excellent. I was going to fit them with carbon washers but was so impressed that i decided it wasn't worth it.
I'm outraged at the price of those rods. I think my hearings going 👂 you're going to have to repeat the price of the reels again. I'm seriously outraged at the price of those reels, in fact so much so I'll be writing to the prime minister!

Gotta respect the phone footage not easy to do while playing a fish! 😂 When compared to similar telescopic rods these look very good, is there a holdall that would fit them properly?
@@Yosser70 There is one long pocket for landing net or banksticks. And two external pockets with straps, so you can attach two additional rods/brolly/long landing net. See YT video from Carpology magazine channel on Infinity range products. There are shown all infinity products in detail.
You should do a comparison on several different makes of retractable rods.
They should do, seeing as it's what the title suggested.
Agreed misleading title. I've been using 9ft dwarfs and I'd be interested to know how they fair against the other brands
I don’t think they can. Pretty sure the way they work is doing paid reviews/demos for companies, so comparing stuff isn’t going to happen.

What are the new reels like?
Does the crosscast ext’s have the same parabolic action as the scopes if someone can tell?
what is the casting? 150g? 180g?
If they did a 3.25tc in 9fts they might sell a few more tbh...sonik have sold thousands in that size, more than any other company.

They do the Black Widow ext, same size and to range but £35-40!

also if you want extra yards have your spool furthest away from the reel if that makes sense
