  • We have all been waiting and anticipating a new generation of Toyota RAV4 to come. With the 2025 model Toyota RAV4 around the corner, we have not heard of any redesign as of yet.
Which means RAV4 redesign should get pushed to the 2026 model at this point. I highly believe that Toyota is not going to hold out in any regard with making this. The absolute best Toyota RAV4 ever made.
    What do you think?

You mentioned this current design would have been around for five years, but since it was redesigned in 2019, that would make it 7 years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025)

Slope the hood down instead of extending it out straight. I want to see the road better.

I would like the hood to be sloped down more for road vision, electric folding side mirrors, and some kind of theft protection for the catalytic converter! Theft is rampant.

Increased sound insulation / reduced road noise. Change position of petrol/hood release buttons - make visible from normal driving position. Great choice of interior and exterior colours (new korean and chinese cars in Australia) look great. Increase tailgate speed.

I agree on sound and road noise insulation. Also, a new configuration for the rear electric cable for a better protection and therefore reliability.

I'm a 2019. Really need better control of road noise, really an issue with higher mileage.
      I LOVE my car.

More great insight, thanks so much Marcello!! I had settled on getting a Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE. But after watching your video, I checked out the Rav4 XLE Hybrid and you're entirely right; it has everything I need for just about the same price. And from everything I've ever seen, the Rav4 is an awesome vehicle. So, I know Rav4 Hybrids are kind of unicorns here in Toronto, but if I go into the dealership now to order an XLE Hybrid, do you think it'd be likely I'd end up with a 2026 vs 2025? I am not in a hurry at all, I have no problem waiting as long as it takes for the right vehicle for me. Thanks again for all the info Marcello, you've been an amazing resource as I try to nail down my new Toyota purchase!

After being more aggressive looking for 2019, don’t believe Toyota will reverse course and make it more car like. I think the 2026 will lean more towards its big brothers in the SUV class.

'23 XSE w/ tech pkg is my first new car in 16 years since I keep car(s) for long time. But I'm looking forward to 6th gen. No power passenger seat, no front ventilated seats, no power folding side mirrors, and weird door handle position are giving me bit of buyer's remorse. I know Limited has'em but no way I'm taking a loss and trade it in for the same gen.

No turbo, 2.7L naturally aspirated engine, 9 speed auto. Toyota should spin off the Adventure/TRD Offroad into a new model SUV, completely different from the Rav4. Make it like a mini 4runner. Subaru has the Crosstek, Forester and Outback that fits every niche buyer, Toyota should do the same.

Toyota tested an 860 watt solar panel on a Prius in 2018/2019 and reported the panels provided an additional 27 miles of range... can one of their new Prime vehicles include useful solar panels like this? I'd be able to drive to work on the roughly 35 mile battery range and almost drive home from the solar charge. Make the radar be constantly active outside of cruise control to force ppl to keep their distance. Maybe copy some of the technology BYD is using in China (especially if it's legit). They've copied the technology from other countries/companies for decades so do the same to them.

I am planning to wait for the redesigned version. I just hope it's does not have those oversized ugly front grills like the Lexus. Those grills are so unattractive to me. The headlights on the 2023 model are sleeker and more attractive than the 2024 model. Having a turbo hybrid would be the cherry 🍒 on top.

A smaller version of the Land Cruiser would be great. I’d like to see improvement in the plug in to stay ahead of the competition. Have more EV range and a more powerful motor in the rear. Maybe they can have a larger battery one that is more energy dense. Maybe with their experience with the gen 5 they can make it even more efficient.

I love this model, but waiting for the refresh to get one. I'd love to see the interior updated with better infotainment center and a panoramic sunroof to keep up with the competition. A more extreme want would be a convertible version. Can you imagine how fun that world be to drive? That would compete with the Bronco and Jeep.

I was hopping a redesign for 2025 RAV4 model to trade in my 2023 RAV4 XLE AWD gas engine but I can see that Toyota is going in different path going away from gas non hybrid engine for all models after 2025 to all hybrid, so unfortunately for me that is it for me no more Toyota, I had a 2017 RAV4 LE AWD which I traded in for my current 2023 RAV4 this is the end of the line for me unless they came out with new technology on batteries, I don't trust EV or hybrid at all, batteries go bad after 2 years it just the same as batteries for phones , I have friends who own EV and hybrid cars and their feedback is not comforting after a year, I feel now they want to make cars more disposable than before exactly as the phones it need to be replace 2 or 3 years apart no good at all
