    Excellent review! Thank you for the detail you put into it. You touched on the improvements from the previous model but kept it short and to the point. We saw this at Costco this week and decided to check into it. Your review put us over the top and we will go and pick one up next week. Summer is coming and I like that we can make slushies with Crystal Light, making that a healthy option. Also, I use to buy frozen fruit and blend it in my food processor. I believe this will make the process easier, less messy, and create more of a smoother product. Also, the add in feature, I can hold back some of the frozen fruit to give it a pretty, texture feel.

  • @doadventurewell
    @doadventurewell Год назад +6

    hey! So with your experience, do you think the deluxe is much better as far as durability considering you can use water in recipes without worry (when compared to the original where you're not supposed to use straight water)? I would prefer the smaller pint-sized containers, but if I'm going to spend $200 on an ice cream machine, I'd like to be able to make whatever I want and not have to worry every time that it might break on me, if you know what I mean!

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад +4

      I'm gonna guess that the durability is very similar to the original. There isn't a power bump or anything, so probably all thr same parts in the drive mechanism. I still would use frozen water it... The amount you can hear it trying with stuff like syrup doesn't make me think it will Be able to handle that too many times. I could be wrong, but it makes me uneasy.

    Hey Joe, great review as always. I was never able to get ice cream that wasn't powdery out of the original Creami, so maybe I'll better luck with this one. I was really disappointed with the OG because my family is like an ice-cream eating tornado, strong enough to swoop up Dorothy and her little dog Toto, too - if they were both made of ice cream.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад +3

      This is such a surprise to hear. I’m a complete novice to ice cream making, I followed no recipe and I have yet to produce anything but the creamiest ice cream my family has ever enjoyed with our Creami. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Wondering if your machine had a faulty motor or broken part?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад

      That happens sometimes if you use certain ingredients.. You can always add a tiny bit of milk or cream, and respin. That'll fix it right up.

    • @signalfire6691
      @signalfire6691 Год назад +4

      It's powdery because it's still too cold. Probably your freezer is set very low. If you microwave the frozen container for 10-15-30 seconds depending on how much water vs. fats is in the mix, just to warm it up a tad, it may very well process correctly the first time. I used to own a frozen custard business and sold pints and quarts of the stuff. It's got very little air (called overrun in the business) and therefore was rock hard out of a freezer. Nuking it for 15-20 seconds depending on how much was in the container made it a lot easier for customers to scoop and recreated the 'right out of the store' texture. Works the same for the Ninja which has to work really hard to process the right-out-of-the fridge mixture. They suggest to 'leave it out for several minutes before you process it' but the microwave is quicker. It also tends to slightly warm the stuff on the outside of the container more so than inside - also making it easier to scoop.

    How long have you been using the Ninja Creami, have you had any problems with it…I was considering buying one but I’ve seen ALOT of bad reviews on Amazon…Motor burned out, the creami blade came off while using, cut up the side of the pint containers-plastic particles in the ice cream, black powder coming out from the machine and so on…after using a couple months (10+ times).
    Have you experienced any problems similar to this?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад

      Nothing yet... and we have 2 here.. the orginal and the new deluxe model. I wonder how many of those reviews could be based on using stuff in it that you're not supposed to though. For sorbets, the manual is super specific about which can and can't be used due to hardness, and I know you have to use different settings between real sugar and substitutes. Also, fruit packed in water is supposed be be a no no as well... There's some hoops to jump through for sure, and if the mix ends up too hard, I can see all of the above going wrong with it.... or I could be lucky. Time will tell, but we make a lot of creami content, and haven't had anything weird going on yet. (knock on wood)

      @@JoesPhenomenal Yes, many of the problems people are having is because their freezers are set REALLY cold. Heya, Larry. The original creami pint is just that.. It's called a Creami pint, and holds a pint (2 cups). When they released the deluxe version, they kept calling it a pint, but the capacity went up to 3 cups.... So it isn't correct, measurement-wise... Nice and confusing, right? Ninja uses the term "creami pint" as the name of the component, but not as a distinct unit of measurement. Hope that helps!
