The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
He's really out here with like a dozen forest nymphs and witches that have all mastered this really difficult clapping and snapping while adding ethereal vocals to his already outstanding voice...like how
hopefully the music video is an animation of this comment.
It is very cool and well done but any muso should be able to do that or they wouldn’t be in a band of that caliber.

You know I’ve felt a little guilty after my earlier comment in that I don’t want to make it sound like you have to be something special to do those claps.
You could absolutely do it too with a little practice. Firstly there are 2 (maybe 3, I can’t remember) different parts going on. Watch and see how the 2 parts bland to give a more complex result.
If you focus on one part only you will see it is much more do-able. Concentrate on one of the simplest one to start just keeping in mind where the beats are. 1 2 3 4.
Practice makes perfect, just like you can rest assured they did plenty of, and you’ll get it.

Hozier: the king of incredibly complicated off beat guitar parts to play whilst singing in a different beat to the already off beat guitar.

Yeah, the whole rhythm of this song is basically a mess that turns out perfect haha. Pretty hard to learn too.

Its the same pattern repeated three times with a clap at the end. Its called a clave and its a standard latin syncopation tool.

I totally agree, it's very genuine. you can tell everything she sings is coming from a place of honesty and real emotion.
lately I've been listening to the stuff she's done with the band HoneyHoney as well, and I'm enjoying that too.
