I’m convinced he knows something the rest of us don’t. Playing that and singing at the same time is a HELL of a challenge
I'm trying to learn this song and man it's rough to do both
I feel like it’s the way he keeps his eyes open while he sings. Idk. I get what you’re saying though.
You should check out neon by john mayer if you think this is hard to do
John Mayer Neon Where the light is concert. You'll know when you see it.
Hell just playing it is hard enough for me!
The man writes lyrics like no one.
The lyrics are literally just names of old jazz songs copy and pasted
who yes BUT his other stuff? his lyrics are stunning. Nina Cried Power is a great example. definitely check it out if you haven’t!
@@Ella-iv7wvomg you answered so calmly to a hate comment! That's what I call a Hozier fan! *proudly saluting*
@@who7063 Except he formed an entire narrative with those titles, adding in words of his own too and thats no small feat. Also, his other songs are lyrical gold mines.
@@who7063 yeah and he still managed to tell an entire story with half of his lyrics just titles of songs
Those women are so coordinated what
Pros
The rhythm is pretty easy once u get the hang of it. Just takes a bit of practice
Right?? Respect!!
Misha Robinson and the guy playing the drum and the tambourine! Amazing!
metronome in the ears
We have truly been blessed to exist in a universe with this beautiful being.
Yes! Blessed feels like just the right word for how I feel too, when I listen to him. He lavishes his beautiful streams of beauty and wisdom on us.
YESSS
Damn straight
Jehovah god has made everything and everyone wonderful is just the conditions that we are living in and the one controlling everything that makes many of us terrible people
Great talent. But he’s a man. Good and bad. Just like you. Don’t worship celebs
Hozier serves as a constant reminder that I have absolutely no musical talent.
if it's a balancing act the universe did to take my talent (lack thereof) in music to to give to Hozier then by all means take it all away.

Take him as example and start practicing. Aim high, start low. I did, I started playing guitar this summer and I took it one song at a time, if it seems easy enough I have a go at it and I keep at it untill I can manage it enough. Then I go on to another.
Do you know AURORA? Every time I sing I think about her perfect voice. I will never be as good at this
And, yeah, the same with Hozier, totally agree x)
Same
Hozier's backup singers are a special kind of attractive
The whole lot and kaboodle of them got pulled right from the Seelie court to support and share in the magic making of their Prince, of course they are a special kind of attractive.
Seelie? Nah this is beyond courts, this type of magic is far more ancient.
They are forest nymphs so obviously they are deadly gorgeous
the audio quality on all these are fantastic. kudus to corey schreppel you funky lil sound engineer
Perfect 😂
Nu-ntelege nimeni nimic 😂
The 27 dislikes are from his rival forest spirits
My skin has been cleared
The way he sings sounds so effortless, it’s amazing
Listening to hozier makes me forget I exist for a few minutes, it’s nice
1:13 to 1:35 might just be the sweetest 22 seconds of lyrics, melody and backing vocals ever recorded.
I need a Hozier and James Bay collab ASAP!
How has this not happened earlier??
I got to see James Bay open for Hozier in Nashville in September of 2014! It was beautiful!!
OMG, YEEEESSSSS!!!!!
Exactly!!!
To be honest I would totally just listen to him reciting the alphabet but this is nice too.
I thought i was the only one listening in India.
That's fair
@@AyushSharma-15 count me too!
Sometimes I look at this man and instantly become a Renaissance sculptor slaving away carving stone to capture his likeness but not even coming close. It's one thing to wonder what it would be like to be this man's muse; it's another for him to be your muse.
I came in from the outside
Burnt out from the joy ride
She likes to roll here in my ashes anyway
Played from the bedside
Is "Stella By Starlight"
"That Was My Heart"
The drums that start off "Night And Day"
The same kind of music haunts her bedroom
I'm almost me again, she's almost you
I wouldn't know where to start
"Sweet Music" playing "In The Dark"
Be still "My Foolish Heart, "
Don't ruin this on me

Tell me who, and I'll be thanking them
The numbered lovers of Duke Ellington
Do I owe each kiss to lip and cheek as soft
As Chet can sing "Let's Get Lost"
And "Let The Good Times Roll"
Let "Smoke Rings" from this "Paper, Doll"
Blow sweet and thick 'til every thought of
"It Don't Mean A Thing"
I've got some colour back, she thinks so, too
I laugh like me again, she laughs like you

I wouldn't know where, I wouldn't know where
I wouldn't know
"The Very Thought Of You" and "Am I Blue"?
"A Love Supreme" seems far removed
"I Get Along Without You Very Well, " some other nights
The radio news reader chimes
Reporting "Russian Lullabies"
She'll turn to me awake and ask, Is everything "Alright"

Absolutely wonderful
He’s an Irish Bob Dylan. Poetic.
A round of applause for that synchronized clapping 👏
Hozier makes my existence feel so surreal sometimes
Why doesn’t this video have like a million views already? This is pure perfection
AMEN!!!
And 3 thumbs down, what the hell.
Right.
It does now :)
Took way to long tho...
That lil dodododo shes hitting in the background is something special too. Jst every person and every aspect of this is breathtaking to me
Hozier's voice is forever my drug
This whole band is absolutely incredible. Also shout out to the sound design. It's a masterpiece
The syncopation between the claps, bass drum, guitar line and time signature is sick AF. Beautifully recorded and produced.
His voice, the lyrics, the band, the arrangement, the rhythm, the time signature. This song is pure awesomeness!
He's heaven on earth
My mans killin it on the bass
Such a ' sweet music' for my ears.
ive watched this nearly a million times and i cant get enough
It's really incredible. So glad you found it. Thank you for watching!
Wow, the sound quality of this version is stunning! You can hear all the instruments and voices so clearly. Such a work of art.
Wtf. This is so good
The chills I get from the layers and amazing vocals of this song 😎
His lyrics are poetry and his music is soul fulfilling.
His voice is timeless. Just a gift from God
I'm still working on doing the clapping part lol not quite there.
Hozier's singing could stomp on me and I'd still say thank you.
As a lifelong jazz fan I love this song
Years from now people will discover this genius. How blessed we are to walk among him.
The band's names are a bit off... It's Cormac Curran and Rachel Beauregard. Jess Berry is often introduced to the audience by her artist name Thandii, and pretty much everyone calls the violin girl Suzanne Santo (her last name is Santosuosso).
Wow, thanks for the insight, Romi! We've updated the personnel list. Thank you!
Suzanne's band Honey Honey is fantastic, btw
@@NoNameForThisGuy any song recommendations?
@@devikamittal8798 start with Slow Brains from their album First Rodeo, or maybe Your To Bear from the album 3
He has the most beautiful words

I am fully convinced it doesn’t get better than Hozier. Like he’s reached the peak of talent
Mind blowing great! Human Masterpiece

Thankyou for sweet music to help the soul thrive to create in the land of distraction 🌅🌈🌅🌈🌸🌟
Loved
His music is the first I listen to when I rise in the morning and the last to bless me to sleep at night. I also listen to him throughout each day ! Blessings and love to him - always !
This has always been my favourite Hozier song but this makes it even moreso. I hugely admire him for the love he gives all the artists in this song. Duke Ellignton, Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald... all the greats
1st ever youtube video i see without any dislikes.. this is a great song
oohhh honey why do you look so exhausted? please don't forget to rest and eat well. your voice and soul are divine.
What an amazing talent. I haven't found a weak cut on any of his lp's (try doing that)so his song writing is impeccable. He has beautiful voice and his guitar playing is exceptional. I sure enjoyed his show at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
This song is amazing, he’s so talented
