The low light performance on this drone is just mind boggling. Awesome review, very well put together
Nurk is looking super good here, must be dieting and gettin' after it!
Dieting and 30+ miles of running a week
@@NURKFPVlooking good mate!
@@NURKFPV Definitely looking good Sir.
But…. From a now retired firefighter who never thought I’d age…
Please remember your JOINTS! Arthritis is a real bitch.
Thanks for your videos. It inspired me to get off the couch and get outside and experience flight.
Great video! thank you for all the information. We need to get an Inspire 3 now!!
Really impressive drone, great footage and a great team! You two really work well together you can tell
We have a lot of fun.
Just been away shooting for a month solid with the inspire 3. Was honestly so so impressed.
wow you guys have gotten so good with your pair flying its really great to even see the review stuff as it looks really profession, great review.
Thanks a ton!
Nurk,
It's so cool to see how far your vlogs have come since the train days! Keep it up!
omb that video was a total elephant tvrd at an intersection
millions of 1d10t5 looked at it,
but there was nothing worth seeing
Great Job on this video, informative with a good base of actual production experience,
Dude you’re shots and flying is on point.
Another amazing product from the DJI team
As always another Great video. Definitely on a professional level. Really enjoyed the night footage of the city.
The comparison between the two , FPV quad and DJI drone, is definitely a good talking point. And you are totally correct, they both are great tools for aerial photography.
Keep up the good work! It's always fun to watch and follow along with you on your journey. Lincoln and I will be looking forward to seeing what you do next 🎉❤
We had a blast making it! Thanks for checking it out
dude. i have ALWAYS loved the inspire series. (besides its famouse inspire 1 n 2 death spin) BUT. seeing this new cool looking I-3 With that kind of low light ability? Im in love. Good job dude
Nurk, you and Winston are super Hollywood ready now!!! You already won the Emmy, now on to the Oscar 👍🏾🏆🥇
Excellent review! Thanks
What an awesome tool the Inspire 3 is. I love that you could get great shots on your own by using RTK and then controlling the gimbal. Very cool.
It's an insane bit of kit
@@NURKFPV Very cool indeed. I think you'll be in a job for a while yet though haha
I've been using an M30 doing high voltage powerline inspections for a few months and I love the new RC Plus controller! Dual ops is great with the new controller! I can't wait to get my hands on an I3!
I've flown that beast a few times it's nuts
Looks great guys!!
Wow Paul great vid man . That inspire 3 is pretty nice. I would get one if I can afford it . 👍🏻👊🏻
Yeah the lowlight is insane 👏🏻
Indeed
I love it so far!
Looks like an amazing piece of kit, now i just need to find a co-pilot/gunner for that gimbal. Great video 👍
Having a good drone AC is a big asset.
"communicates with the sky" is the best description of RTK I've ever heard
Back in 2015-16 the yuneec typhoon H could do the 3D dolly. Also could run with two controllers and had lifting landing gear and a 360 never ending rotating 4k camera. Don't know why they didn't get better market share. Could it done with a battery camera for sure
that rolling shutter creeps in
DJI are amazing when above water for sure but ya different tool for different job, but you got a lots cool drone around you😀
Intresting🎉Thank You
OMG, that fpv beast is sick
Very nice. I would've liked to see what the pilot sees with the cinematic scenes - you show a bit of that later in the dolly part.
How's latency?
Happy Thursday 🙂
Damn! I wish I had a hold of that one!
So awesome it's a Nurk Video! So the Inspire 3 is another but very expensive tool for professional film making! Cheers bud!
Trying to get into a bit of a bi-weekly rhythm
If you had a tighter lens that tracking car shot through the trees would look stellar. I see later where you mentioned this. Also, platform speed. The FPV heavy is capable of much faster speeds which is useful in some situations. thanks for the review. finally, speaking of unemployed...the strike will take care of that...
Ah man 😔 been there...its just parts bud she will be back in the air in no time! Sweet smooth flying bro! 😎
3DR Solo perfect cable cam and video waypoints in 2015, it was my first drone, and I’m sad they didn’t make it because I can only imagine the features it would have by now.
I can’t understand why o can do a waypoint hyper lapse in a consumer drone, but not a video waypoint.
I can’t understand how this doesn’t work for a drone of this level.
Awesome shots of my hometown Louisville!
Louisville, especially the river, is epic
Nurk, the repeatability problem you mentioned is probably due to how you had the RTK base set up. I use RTK a lot while mapping. There are a couple of ways I can think of that would result in that problem you had. I don't fly with a DJI RTK. I use a Emlid RS2 as my base. The same principles apply though. If you reach out I can probably help you resolve that. Great video :)
DJI put the Inspire on the same diet program as Nurk!
Looking sharp mate!
Can you record the 3D Dolly Manual flight path, so that you can replay that? For example, could you have recorded the manual flight you both did in tandem at 9:50 so that it could be replayed and recorded exactly as you flew it with the same speed match?
the rtk is really good for b roll shots and repeatable shots but close proxy is the land of the skilled operator
That's a fair assessment
Thanks!
I would love to know more about the cinalifte lifter and gimbal that your using to compare the i3 to? What's the set up?
Cm accuracy repeatable routes are impressive
I think you still have a job. Sure, the I3 is impressive, but it's another tool in your toolbox to use depending on the situation. The CMW rig or heavy lift rigs that use a specialist UHD recording camera still have their place.
It all comes down to what is required for the shoot.
I wanna see this footage without RUclips compression, great work 💯
I think we can make that happen if enough people are interested
@@NURKFPV is 4 likes enough? 😃
I"m curious to know your RID thoughts for commercial flights... No prob on the dji stuff but not being able to self build for commercial is really... well, it'll give that inspire 3 some more use.
It's a nice package to have in the lineup for sure
Lookin good mate... what'd you drop? 30?
Great seeing another of your vids.
you and Winston making it to WCT?
Wish one of these was on my to buy list...
45 lbs right now!! 💪💪
@@NURKFPV Hellz yeah !!
nice work
Paul, the link to your CatalystMachineWorks frame is broken.
correct me if I'm wrong but I think for the progammed flight path to be more accurate you need the DJI RTK-2
We had it up and running and connected
How did I miss this episode???
Hey Nurk, totally unrelated question but I'm just getting into film making. Got a BMPCC 6k G2 and I was wondering if instead of buying a 100 sony NP-F batteries is there a way to use 4S li-po's instead?
There definitely is. I think I've even made a video about it. Search "nurk cinema camera bec"
That Inspire is pretty neat
It's an insane bit of kit
It would be great if you could figure out how to use googles with the FPV camera. As you know being in the googles is infinitely safer for close proximity work.
1000%
Can a normal guy with a normal job buy the setup you reviewed so nicely
I've been going back and forth with DJI's engineers over the "centimeter-level" positioning and how inaccurate the positioning actually is when doing repeatable routes. The takeaways have been as follows:
• It's not actually centimeter accuracy, because though the drone is accurate to the centimeter, the RTK-2 is only accurate to ~1 meter (horizontally).
• Vertically, they say that up to a 3-meter variation in ellipsoidal height is normal. But in my experience, I've seen variation up to 10 meters. Either scenario makes "matching" shots for long-term timelapses very difficult.
• They said that the reason for variation between shots was because the gimbal positioning has an error margin of 2-3°. However, in addition to gimbal variation, my shots are often very difficult to match up because there seems to be significant pacing differences between the different runs, leaving some clips longer/shorter than others. So, Waypoint 14 does not always happen when another clip's Waypoint 14 occurs. After bringing this up, they said that's normal too.
So, it's all cool and better than no RTK. And it works well for this scenario- masking different runners in different parts of the frame. But it's not so plug-and-play when you want to crossfade whole frames from one shot to another.
Good to know, I've been searching for this type of explanation. Curious if a different RTK system can be used if it's anymore accurate?
Did the engineers mention trying to further enhance and perfect this?
I've used waypoints on the mavix pro 3 cine and with hyperlapse or video city scapes never lined up to the point in post you could line up some buildings but nothing like they demonstrate.
@@JustinJung after talking with them, my understanding is that it's simply a limitation of the technology and there's no way for them to improve it via firmware updates or whatever. I will say, since my first few times using it (I've been going to the same site over a few months, and I've gone six times now) the difference between the first and second runs were VERY significant. But since then, it's been less so- things have been closer matched. I'm not seeing as many wild 10-meter variations anymore. It definitely helps to let the antenna / controller run 15 min before doing anything at all (to let the positioning update and settle), and it's definitely helped to hot swap batteries between flights / clips. (I have about 20 paths I fly at this location, so it can take a few hours.) I wasn't hot swapping before, and everything would have to recalibrate.
For lining up in post, it helps that I'm shooting a big pole barn in a cornfield. But, I'd imagine that if I were to do city buildings where the foreground / background building positions would be much more noticeable, it would be harder to make seamless.
@@BeauRosario thanks for all this! Extremely helpful!! 🙏🏻
@@BeauRosario I wonder as far as the gimbal positioning though if they'll find tune that? You'd think with the invention of AI you could have it match an image positioning or something you show it.
I wanna see you come back and push the RID back to the core. Freedom is the free in USA
Is it possible toUse the camera of inspire with gimbal without drone?
Not currently as far as I'm aware
I just want one 😳
neat drone, for an operator I can rent. Will the service with this be cheaper than a drone with an FX6 on it?
It will be cheaper than an fx6 rig to rent yes.
I did get a chance to briefly use an inspire 2 and found that phenomenal, So I just googled some pricing for this Version......Yikes.
Is there at colour grading on the video? The video looks so dull, more like raw D-Log colour profile.
There is a grade. It's shot with dlog. During the filming the wildfires were happening so everything was kinda flat anyways and we couldn't find an official DJI rec709 lutn
Interesting
So when you dont have access to a fpv buy a inspire 3 ....be cheaper to fly me out from hawaii ......great video !!!!!
They definitely did close that gap between pilot skill and tech assistance.
It's super good but it also requires skill to get the most out of it. Kinda like lane keep assist vs a racing driver. Two different things but super nice to have
Dont forget about autel evo!
@OfficialNURKFPV whait what???
Nice to see Winston. You make a great point: brain meat in the loop makes all the difference. Robotic precision's unnerving - and just ends up looking like CGI.
Absolutely
Why don't you have any RTH on ur lifter? o.O
Cuz I don't trust it more than it just dropping
@@NURKFPV I guess that's understandable... but you do trust DJI's RTH then?
Precisely the ''not kidding'' version of my Mini 3 Pro
Amazing gift?!
good video - but man - it's not only the drone that's light - you've lost a bunch of weight lately - good for you man
Dji tiny whoop 6k?
8k
first thought after 1 min watching .... U R getting in go(o)d shape M8 ---- cheers ¶ ;- )
Appreciate it!!
they let you keep that?
It's a press loaner
@@NURKFPV You should etch your initials in that so the next content creator will know who had it lol just kidding
@@pizzyfpv im into it
that thing is pretty much a ufo lmao. and I thought my dji fpv was cool LOL
haven't seen you in a long time Nurk, lost some xtra I can see,, 👀
Working on it! 💪💪
same thing will happen as everywhere else, the market will separate. There will be ultra high end stuff for the pros and automated overpriced junk for the masses. But it will have cool software that will work sometimes too.
Robotic shots? I don’t think any professional prefers them over manual shots, except for repeatable routes and dollies following the operator's execution of the initial route.
lets put 3D mode on that shit :D
You should have tried flying Inspire 3 in goggles and THEN tell the difference.. :)
Backdoor The bride is crash down
lot of the drone shots are over exposed
Looks crazy expensive
$16k is rough.
surprised it could keep up with usain bolt over here
Nuuuuuuuurk
pit stop..>WEOOOO
:-)
@OfficialNURKFPV Wish I won this drone!
I’ve been really excited about the programmable routes, but really disappointed with their execution. Even with the RTK base flying the same route the pitch and yaw of the camera can each be off by 5 deg. This seems like it really shouldn’t be that hard, but after dozens of tests the I3 really can’t do it 100%. It is always off by enough to make a difference.
These I can see in the footage.
Now supposedly there is cm level accuracy with the drone position, but if the camera is off by that much I’ve been really hesitant to fly a slow route close to things and then fly it fast. This is too bad as it really is such a great potential feature. Unfortunately it usually takes a model or two for the drone to catch up with DJI’s marketing department.
wow i havents watch any of your video for a long time,,you lose a lot weight..:)
For a start.... It's slow
To bad drone laws are a pain in the ass now....
At that price make sure you get your investment back in less than a year................................otherwise stick to our hobby.
Agreed
Must have😬😳😳20,000$ drone WHO can afford IT😂
wow, $1600 dollars is like a use car, no way, only for professional's.
I think you are missing an extra zero, btw.
RTK it's a joke. You need to be in ATTI mode
I can unsee you standing inches away from poison oak and ivy at the park! yikes!
Didn't even notice. There's a good old video of me crawling through it that a bunch of viewers pointed out as I was covered in poison oak
@@NURKFPV It’s so bad here in Indy. Everywhere! you must not be allergic to it. i get it from just looking at it haha
Do you get to keep the drone?
It would be so sick if there was just all the sudden a car accident and you had the most perfect shot of it
