W0W! Hey, isn't this whole sailing thang supposed to be FUN!? Ha! Nonetheless, Job well done. Thanx for keeping it real & sharing the ups & the down of sailing with us.
Thank God for St Martin. I have heard all the couples that I watch sail, say the same thing. In stressful situations while sailing, voices get raised. I can't imagine sailing into an anchorage in that kind of wind and getting anchored with no motor. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Nothing breaks down when it's convenient, but at least you have someone else onboard to help out. Once I get out there, I am completely on my own with this kind of stuff. Love the videos, keep em coming
ok, now I'm up to date, I've watched all your videos, from the first to the last, I really like them and have subscribed, now I can just follow along every week.
When in doubt, always dive to check your prop. Happened to me while in a ferry crossing and sure enough, line was wrapped around the prop shaft. Great video, guys! Fair winds and following seas ⛵️
I think you did pretty good on sailing with no engine, it’s stressful and all along you’re wondering what is the problem. On the wire connections going directly to the bilge pump make sure those stay above the water level all the time if you can.Being underwater can cause electrolysis at the wire connectors, I’ve had that happen more then once.On the repair on the cooler have you checked the zinc plug?I would think that electrolysis is the culprit to the hole in that cooler.Keep a close watch on that problem,if it happens again soon it’s a electrical problem ,Hopefully your transmission is ok.Good job too on trimming the sails.👍I really enjoyed this episode 🙏🙏🙏😍
Thanks Mark! This trip definitely taught us a lot. Thanks for the tips! We will be checking our electrical for sure. Our model Yanmar doesn’t have a zinc, but I will check the prop shaft ones. Cheers!!🍻
JB Waterweld; good stuff, I use it quite often. I think everyone likes Marigot Bay in Sint Martin. Hopefully, your engine and transmission is ok. Well, if you're gonna be stuck somewhere, ya picked a great spot ! Right Jaclyn !?
Hi Bandits, I was pleased to see my boat from a drone shot at the beginning of the video, that was cool. I am in St-Martin as well and if you need help with anything give me a shout, I am inside the lagoon. I am hoping your transmission issue got resolved quickly, Cheers, Richard
The most effective way to get the water out of a boat is a frightened man with a bucket. I carry a small rule bilge pump with about 30 feet of wire and alligator clips so it can be hooked onto a battery or any other 12v connection. It's also got enough flexible hose that the discharge end can be put overboard as a last resort. It's also handy for bailing out the dink if I'm feeling lazy.
Hey guys, stupid question . With all you had going on, did you remember to open the seacock? Trans cooler leak - trans overheating after repair... Hoping for an easy inexpensive fix. Congrats on bringing her to anchor under sail!
Hoping transmission fluid is the end of that issue and look on the bright side, at least now you have a spare pump should you need it down the road. Cheers guys ❤
Traveling like you do you should have all the service items for the engine, a spare hose for each size, impellers, filters, bilge pumps and fresh water pump in your spare parts dept. Make a bad day good as fast as possible :). Best of luck to you both!
@@TheOceanBandits fan belts, water filters, light bulbs... it goes on and on! Expensive up front but there is nothing better than a quick fix of something that would have delayed you a day or 3 otherwise. Best of luck.
Word of warning. The heat gun solder/heat shrink connectors are junk. Outfitted wiring on many emergency vehicles, Lot's of connections, and had to go back n properly solder on new ones after those failed. As far as not being secure in what you are doing out there? Gas welded a drag racing motorcycle together in the garage when I was 16. When I raced it the people in the stands either gave me crap or cheered me on. Point being, They were in the stands and I was on the track!!!!!! Admire and hope to follow future adventures, I'M Cheering
I swear you two are the king and queen of clickbait and I think it is hilarious thank you.

Most of the time it is, we like to work on the boat with a line in the water 😊 hope you guys are doing ok x Jacinta
You’re awesome! Thank you!
Yes, fixing problems in exotic locations!

We definitely have our moments! 🤪 Thank you, Steve! We tried our best! ❤️🙌
Great vid guys. High highs and low lows! Thanks for sharing it all. And kick ass sailing into anchor after a very stressful night at sea!
Thanks Josh!!! 💪⛵️
Glad you made it safely. Enjoy your time there
Thank you! ❤️

We do appreciate having each other’s support in hard times. We admire those who do this solo! 💪

Agreed! ❤️ Saint Martin is seriously the BEST place to get stuck! 😂 We have yet to come across a cruiser that doesn’t love it here.

Hey, that’s awesome! Glad she was in the shot! ⛵️ And that’s great! We really appreciate that, Richard and will let you know🙏
Awww you guys deserve a big yummy meal and a vacation after all that! Or a little joy ride on a catamaran always helps too ❤
Amen! 😍
your logo is fantastic. the liquid tape is good stuff, nothing wrong with doubling down on water proofing.
Thank you! 🙏 Tanner designed it for us!
J don't cut yourself sort. You are as salty as it gets. Own it! You got this girl 💪🤘
😘❤️🫶
Hang in there guys, brighter skies lie ahead
Thank you! 😊🙌

Sea cock was open! No question is stupid 👌❤️ and we share more in the next video!

Yes the glass is always half full! Ha!
Absolutely! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️

lol. I’ve beat myself up over missing something so simple before. I’m down an engine right now myself luckily I have two. Glad you guys made it in.
Right!? 😂 Thank you! Appreciate you!
Never a dull moment. 😂
You two are fun and amazing. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! 🙏❤️
Looks like you might need to update your maintenance schedule
Yup! We agree!
Well seems you needed a spare, but now at that price. Would have sent you one if I had known. 🤔
You are too kind! ❤️

You’re awesome 🙌 Thank you for watching!
You said you were going to head back to florida is that still in the works?
We are exploring some remote job options right now as well, but we are still headed in a northern direction!
The tape shoulda worked? Did you pull and stretch it? It doesn't stick to it's self until stretched. Alot.
Yeah it was just in a tight space so I couldn’t stretch it as much as I needed to! The JB weld ended up working just fine 👌
Unless your sinking there is no reason to go under the boat at night at sea!
Agree with you there! 💯
That´s why you have a sailboat and not a motoryacht, so that you don´t need an engine. I am a smartass or just an ass I know. All the best.
😂🙌 you are correct! ⛵️
So many trans (mission) jokes left unsaid………Wish you guys the best. Be safe.
Thanks Mike! ❤️
