Bentley will be just fine on the boat. New Year’s Day, 1985, I sailed out of Longboat Key on an Islander Freeport with a Hot school teacher and her 55# Blue ChowChow. We spent a year crossing the Atlantic slowly. When we arrived in Gibraltar, the school teacher left the dog, the boat and me but not in that order. The ChowChow sailed with me for another 17 years on 3 boats including a sail to Cape Town and Rio. I would never sail again without a dog onboard.
Awhhhh that’s amazing. Hahaha Did you do anything special for him in hotter places? Being Floridian and knowing the heat, it’s always been so “normal” and when I had my cat Chloe (bless her little soul) and lived in the VW bus for a while, I would get her the lion cut and she LOVED it. Plus she enjoyed the beach and all that so it worked for her. Of course, you’re not supposed to shave these dogs, so… and he is a Florida dog! My friend had a chow chow when I lived in the Virgin Islands and he did alright, though occasionally she’d shave him too. He does get hot and loves his AC, I just don’t know what to tell him when we get underway on the middle of summer. Hahaha 😂 We need bigger solar panels! Hahah

You say that, but we can't even really use the hot water because we can't shower in that head! If you haven't already ordered the lifeline netting, look into buying netting from a professional fishing net company, they sell it by the pound. I bought 5 pounds at $15.00 a pound, enough to net my '38 Pearson, and have enough left over for hammocks, cargo nets and more. I bought mine from a company in Mississippi, fast service and good quality.

The vent cover you bought is meant for a floor vent, so there are no holes to mount it for a wall vent. You can either drill holes in it for mounting screws, which I don't recommend, or get some silicone sealant and just put some large quantities inside the 4 corners to hold it in place. Good luck.
It had 4 holes. It is two pieces. A plastic piece that snaps into the brass cover. The plastic base screws to the wall and the brass cover snaps onto that.

“Turkish Bath towels” from Turkey they $7-8.00 off eBay they work great and dry quickly and when rolled up don’t take up a lot of space. Just one of my favorites for the boat-life
Hose clamps eventually will come loose from hoses hardening. If the hose has the length to cut off an inch then I like to put a wrap of butyl tape around existing end of hose and put a new hose clamp on it and tighten. The butyl tape helps keep the clamp from piercing the hose. Works on power steering hoses too! You two both attacking the projects will make for some interesting discussions, lol.😮
butyl tape, solid recommendation. There's no length to cut. It's tight in there! I suspect sometime this year this entire boat is goin to get re-plumbed.
Thread tape goes the opposite direction. It is applied the same direction if you want to tighten the nut or bolt. Then it stays where you put it rather than bunching up and leaving a gap sometimes. It will work both ways most of the time, it will always work if up put it on "righty tighty" Unless you have rare left-hand threads.
You really did quite a few chores done in a short time, so give yourselves an “Atta boy”! Seeing you wrestle with that show fixture reminders of many things I have purchased online that never did go together easily! Hope you find a way for your pup to get down below too.
Oh he goes up and down smoothly now! Took him less than a day and he had that dialed. That was the very first time he ever got on the boat so we had to throw it in there. Hahah Yeah we’ve been on the boat almost two weeks and we’ve done A LOT!
nice meeting you guys, wish could stay longer, but my cats are staging a hunger strike.Big shout out to Capt. Hal for fishing me out of the drink! Good luck with the delivery, we;ll meet again.
Motor sail with just a bit of help from the fore sail or part of the main 🧙♂️ Re rig with dyneema like i said save money ..avoid cracks corrosion problems ..and carry repair materials on a drum bellow decks .. just in case.
Glad to have caught up with this kind of vid, so early, usually, they are years old. In respect of your dog adapting to the boat, believe me he'll manage...did it once and, she loved it!!! They to spend as much time ashore as you can, otherwise your dog will get sailors gait! My dog Winnie was a fast runner, and it never effected her in that way, though. Nice boat, I am so envious!!!
Thank you so much! Yeah, Bentley is doing AMAZING on the boat! He's been a foster dog and we've been trying to find him a home but honestly he's done so well with this, I don't know how we could take him away from it.
congrat!…trust me, you have no idea where the water is actually penetrating the decks …that water runs all over the place before finding an escape spot into your boat …sure hatches and masts leak , but i’m pretty sure you’ll be chasing them until you remove all decks and hardware and such… she is a beauty! i’ll be watching and hopefully find you with more pleasure than pain…
hahah Oh I know it! There are some really obvious spots on the deck though that are DEFINITELY taking on water and I'm going to start there. Honestly, as a whole, the leaks in this boat aren't terrible. Grateful for that.
you’re way better off dealing with a few small leaks than ripping everything up now…especially if you can determine if you can see where intrusion is occurring inside, and it’s not causing catastrophic future damage …hope you find the most pervasive ones…like the ones right above your pillow…cheers!
Looking good, I missed as to why you can't sail. If its a rigging issue I would think it OK to sail in light conditions ,at least with the head sail. A 1000 mile trip under motor is a long way, over that distance you will stir up the fuel tank and find out what lurks in the bottom as with the Engine sump. So have plenty of filters. As for the deck , there is nothing wrong with giving it a sand , especially as you are going to replace it down the track. Old Decks collect water in the tiny recesses , a sand helps shed the water. Maybe even do some re-caulking . Obviously where its paper thin there is nothing you can do. All in all the ship looks in good shape.
Port chain plates. One has a crack and the other just looks iffy. I plan on using the jib or stay sail to help the engine but, only if the wind is putting the weight on the starboard side. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, the surveyor called us after the survey and said the chainplates were a lot worse than we all thought after zooming WAY in. We want to change the chainplates out anyway and put them on the exterior where they should be anyway, and we went through the logistics of doing that here and ultimately it's too much to do here and now. It's better for us to get the boat home where we can be working and making our summer money while tacking these projects in a place we have all the resources and tools. The deck! ohhhh man. Yeah, we're back and forth about what to do with the deck. I reckon if someone will sponsor us the caulking (because THAT is a lot of money and that's what makes it not worth rehabbing), I'd be on board with pulling the seams and re-seaming and sanguine and sealing. In the mean time, I've cleaned and brightened the teak, and today I'm going to patch the deck in the places where it's obviously taking on water, and then I'm going to seal it with Starbrite's version of Semco. (Thank god we've been sponsored by Starbrite for over a year) That should help as a quick fix to get us home.
Priority--Bleach the water tank! Carry a few gallons of store-bought fresh water with you. You will find when living avoard you will have to bleach the water tank avout every 6 months. Bleaching is simple and effective, I will advise if nec.-------Mikey
Thanks! We have a new jug of Starbrite tank cleaner (We've been sponsored by Starbrite for over a year, and that helps us out a lot) and are doing that as we speak! Bleach does great too though, I agree. We do plan to carry store-bought water with us for the trip until we have a bad ass filter system.
Please do not get rid of Bentley. He is beautiful and a keeper. No one will even think of trying to board your boat with him on deck. That's wonderful. Consider the couple who had a catamaran in Grenada last week and were boarded by 3 escaped criminals who are suspected of killing the couple and stole the boat. The boat was wrecked shortly after being stolen and police arrested the 3 suspects. Violence on the boat was apparent but the bodies have not yet been recovered. The couple was from Falls Church, Virginia. As a sail boat owner I have a dog for this reason. 🐕🦺 Be safe. Cheers. S/V Cork~Texas🇺🇸⛵
whoa..... Didn't hear about that. That's scary! I feel like they could just shoot the dog though, if necessary. But you're right, good point. Don't tell, but he loves EVERYONE! hahahahaha
That 90 degree fitting the head discharge ine needs to be removed--shit does not move well through 90s--a garanteed problem area. You can either add more hose for a curve or use a Slow-curve 90. Best to rplace all that 1 1/2 sanitary hose with new, routing is critical---Mikey
Just a comment on installing tephlon tape. Follow the thread direction. Since you are threading "on" you will turn it clockwise. Therefore you wind the tape in the same direction. Enjoyed your video. Good job. I've subscribed!!
Yeah, surveys are important for everyone, even savvy boat owners. A luxury, frankly, to have someone else spend the day going through every nook and cranny making a clean cut to-do list. On that Mikelson, we already had a fresh survey and we went in and did the video after the surveyor. Of course on all the others, you have to put down a deposit before having a survey or sea trial done.
On a boat a Wet bilge is a happy bilge. Also another reason why you have a bilge pump. Unless you figure out the pump is running continuously. Then you need to find the source of the water.
We purchased our last Power Boat (yacht) built by Ocean Reef in Taiwan 64 footer! We live in Arizona, sold our house and moved on our yacht in Ft. Lauderdale. Hired a Captain and Crew member and went to the Bahamas, Turks And Caicos, Jamaica, Panama Canal, up the west coast of Central America, Then Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta then Cabo Mexico! Then back up to San Diego. Then we spent a year in Puerto Vallarta. We are 70 now and look back with great times! Enjoy your new sailboat my new friends!!!
Nice!!! Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun, a great sized boat, and really nice having crew to ease the load. We’re finally underway and enjoying it! She’s a good boat and truckin along good so far.
So happy for you..imo while you have things like the vent cover, velcro strips might be your friend. Also I have seen a few other sailing channels that used fishing rod holders mounted near the back of the cockpit to hold their Starlink dishes and the sails and rigging didn't interfere with the signal. See you next time. ☺☺
Ahhh good idea with the starlink and the fishing rod holders. We were concerned that the solar panels would block it there though. Haven't totally worked out a solution for that yet, and it's been at the bottom of the priority list with everything else going on. We'll get there! haha
I love the thumbnail for this video. That wonderful dog is going to be there for you throughout all your trials and tribulations with that yacht, he is your rescue reliability ❤
I had power/boats and yachts most of my life! Even one 42 foot sale boat! Really enjoy how you are enjoying sweat equity! Can’t wait for your videos motoring 1000 miles! Great job!
A new 42 foot Hunter! We were docked in San Diego, California. We motored to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. My wife being the smart one said “ if we are going to motor everywhere, why don’t we buy a power boat”? When we got back to San Diego… we put the Hunter up for sale! There is very little wind along the California! The only place we could sail we in San Diego bay… the wind would funnel through the bay and it was fun to day sail there! No trade winds!
Oh nice! hahahah My family used to build Hunters here in Florida for many years. My grandma retired from the factory. I should do a YoUTube video with her one day. That's actually how my parents met, building those. Good boats, especially back in the 80's. Not really my style, but still cool. My sailing experience on the west coast over there is somewhat minimal but I have sailed a bit over there. I know a lot of people find wind to Catalina Island! haha Seasonally, like anything. But your wife is right. If you're motoring everywhere you go, get some comfortable, beamy, twin screw.... may as well! hahaha @@stevenschude3885
Hi to ya both I just want to congratulate you on your purchase of this beautiful Boat …..also to compliment you both on the way you communicate and the co-operation and your way it shows you have a perfect compatibility to each other love this episode as best I’ve watched of you …at last you’ve moved past being reviewing and surveying boats well done both of you
I've had a lantern (the brass one) I've had numerous years & knew it was nautical but have never seen it in any videos until now,& I've watched thousands of yachting videos.
Thanks! Hal was able to muscle that back plate off and he went ahead and screwed it in. That'll probably stay with the boat forever now, so no problem with screws there.
No need to drill on the vent cover , just get 3m double sided trim tape . That will hold it , any automotive parts store will have it !The shower and faucet diverter might have NPT threads and your faucet won't have !
Just a comment on AC vent, the brass one is just a floor register Gravity hold it in place, the white vent is the style you want ,That way you can control the air flow by opening or closing it and also the direction of flow. Like the show👍
Thanks! Actually it does have screw holes, and it’s a two part contraption. We screwed it in. It also has toggles so we can control air flow. 👍🏼 It works good!
We have both been professional mariners. We both played different roles. She is the Chief Stew, and Deck Hand. I am the Captain and Engineer. We both hold or have held credentials and positions in these departments. She also does all of the bright work. I don't touch the teak.
If you call vacuuming up black water from a head multiple times "fun", then hey, that's you! I also do a lot of stuff off camera that I can't film and do at the same time, as does Hal. You guys are only ever going to get to see bits and pieces.
Absolutely! That is in the next video! And actually, we have a little issue and it doesn't get resolved IN that episode, but basically, "teak deck sealer" in the caulk tube, and also Sikaflex 295 UV is good. We will go into detail Sunday!
Watched sailing good bad and ugly for 6 years as they rebuilt a boat they went through alot of challenges, but made it through, will tune in next week all the best
Hi Siren, I knew your Mom really well. She was my step-cousin but we always kept in touch even after Sue divorced Mark. Johnny was also my cousin and so we stayed related by marriage to her and the rest of your family. I've watched your videos for several years and found them interesting. I just want to wish you and Hal the best of luck. I think it's amazing what you two are doing. I know you're facing challenges as well but what an adventure you're embarking on. I know another couple who are starting a similar life but with a pull-behind camper and a baby going cross-country for the next year at least. I look forward to seeing your videos. I bet your Mom is looking down on you with a sweet smile on her face.I sure do miss her! ❤
Hey! Nice to hear from you and that’s so sweet you’ve been watching the videos! Thank you so, so much and please let us know if you’re ever around. We’re headed around the state back to Panama City.
I really need to get down to Florida for a visit. We live up near Savannah and I hardly ever get to drive down to Lake City to see my family or friends. I do message with most of them regularly. Just talked with your Aunt Teri last week actually. @TheSirensLog
We’ve literally said that ourselves! lol between the dog hair, my fricken hair getting caught in everything, and Hal’s back, we are the hairiest boat on the dock.
@@TheSirensLog I’ve had dogs most of my life. borzois, whippets, Briards, bullmastiffs and long-haired whippets. Hair management is impossible so much of the time but it’s worth it.
I agree. Bentley sheds but honestly he doesn’t even shed as much as my cat I had for ten years. They’re big hairs and they ball up together on the floor immediately in some magical way that makes it fairly manageable. Plus that little vacuum helps! It’s really not as bad as one would imagine.
Or maybe it’s not done yet. lol There were definitely some things that got pushed aside because there were bigger projects that were more important. Once we get the boat home, we’re going to be doing a lot of work!!
hahahah Thanks! Yeah, he's getting better everyday. Gonna be harder and harder to want to find him a home, especially after we're done with this trip! We are debating having the bottom cleaned ere before we leave, or taking it south just a little bit and cleaning it ourselves. It's not terribly dirty right now, at least.
uh oh... gosh... hahahah It wasn't until THIS week that we started to think we may actually keep him. We have to teach him not to eat cats though. ooooh... We have decisions.
I understand your growing fondness for Bentley, but big dogs like him don't do well on small boats, especially offshore. I would give @warezdog's offer serious consideration, if I were you. He may be happy to drive over to where you are to adopt Bentley. Who knows?@@TheSirensLog
Re: your heat vent. If you think you will be removing it frequently, try some velcro fasteners on the wall and back of the vent. If you think it will be once a year or longer, try a mild adhesive . All the best, Hal
The water under the grate is black water, we're absolutely positive. That pipe has blown free more than once now, and it was a slow leak before we bought the boat. That pipe under the sink is on the back side of the backwater pump, and when the pipe blows, it's very obvious that it's blackwater.
Many happy adventures on your way. will keep looking for videos. Congelation on your boat. Maybe you good put some type of wood box for him to go down and up to the lower area...
Actually it took him just a few hours and he had that companionway mastered! He’s very good at it now, he just has to have a few feet to get a running start to go up. He’s turned out to be a really good boat dog! He is behaving better than ever, he has learned to handle other dogs and cats on the dock, and we are actually thinking this may work out beautifully and we actually keep him. Before getting here, we were absolutely set on finding him a home, and that has always been the plan, but he’s just SO good here!
Tons of stuff to do! The teak deck and the rigging and chain plates definitely being the biggest and most expensive things. TONS of little stuff, and when I say "little", like $500 a pop stuff. It adds up!
I can’t recommend enough getting a composting toilet. No leaks, no smell, no pump outs, and no through hulls. I will never own another boat with a holding tank.
I COMPLETELY agree and if I was the only one living on my boat, I would. But Hal is totally against it. He’s also never lived with a composting toilet for any length of time. Personally, I love them.
@@TheSirensLog There is no way to dispose of them within 5 miles of land. It is still raw unmaserated sewage. You can't pump it out and there is no marina that is knowingly going to let you dump it anywhere. So, when its full you sail 5 miles offshore just to dump it. It doesn't sound convenient.
@@haltarpley9237the material that comes out of a composting toilet looks and smells like dirt. We just put it in a garbage bag and put it in a dumpster. It’s not liquid.
We are finally getting people saying they will take Bentley and honestly it hasn’t been until this last week that we started to think w e may actually keep him. We’ve been looking for a home for him since last September!
We supposedly burn .7 gal an hour. I am figuring for 1 gallon an hour at 5 knots. 1000 nautical miles divided by 5 is 200 gallons. I really won't know until our first fill up on our trip.
@@haltarpley9237 I took my '38 sailboat 600 (statute) miles up the Tenn Tom and Tennessee rivers, a motor slog upriver, 4108 Perkins, averaged 0.65 gallons per hour, running usually 1450rpm, 5.3-5.5 kts. water speed. If you plan @ 1gph you shouldn't have any problems with running out of fuel.
There ended up being holes! That black piece was really stuck on there. Hal had to muscle it off and then we screwed it in. It’s nice enough to be a permanent fixture, really. Hahaha
That rusty hose clamp definitely needs to be replaced--the Dremel tool with the reinforced cut-off wheels will be your Friend, Do Not get too far away from your Dremel Tool, and--your Multi-Tool! All your Slow Leaks will gradually INCREASE in a seaway!?-------Mikey
Mine didn’t . On the right top there the pressure relief. And under it on the bottom left is a drain like an outdoor faucet. That’s plastic. The company sells an anode that gos where the drain is . Remove the drain and install the anode . If it has the anode you can tell it has a little metal cock and not the plastic faucet valve . It’s a known problem in all the cruiser forums . The paper work it comes with recommends you purchase an anode. Maybe they changed ,it was two years ago . I welded it and it started leaking again .

I've learned that now. hahaha thanks!
Hahah
Yeah we’ve been on the boat almost two weeks and we’ve done A LOT!
Heavy duty waterproof double sided tape for that grill no holes required.
Or drill four but look where they are going to fix.
Thanks! Yeah that black backing part came off, it just took more muscle than I had.
nice meeting you guys, wish could stay longer, but my cats are staging a hunger strike.Big shout out to Capt. Hal for fishing me out of the drink! Good luck with the delivery, we;ll meet again.
Great meeting you. Get that Cabo sailing and well see you over the horizon.

Outstanding. May the Father bless this new Adventure you are starting.
God bless you to @oldmangibb
Thank you!!!!
Your husband definitely doesn’t let little things concern him which makes him smarter than most
You say that! And it’s true! But sometimes things aren’t little things and we are still letting them slide for some reason. 🫠🤣
congrat!…trust me, you have no idea where the water is actually penetrating the decks …that water runs all over the place before finding an escape spot into your boat …sure hatches and masts leak , but i’m pretty sure you’ll be chasing them until you remove all decks and hardware and such…
she is a beauty! i’ll be watching and hopefully find you with more pleasure than pain…
hahah Oh I know it!
Used towelos are at Yard sales. Buy them and stock up--also handy when your Dog steps over the side--that's his Job !-----Mikey
😮keeping it real I appreciate that. Great video
hahah Gotta!!
Great boat guys...lots of character - congratulations!
Bentley looks very at home on the boat 😊.
Looking forward to seeing your adventures !
Thank you so very much! Bentley is doing fantastic!

Best to rplace all that 1 1/2 sanitary hose with new, routing is critical---Mikey
hey hope ur cooler or icebox is working, it's good to have a cool beer once in a while. Best of luck with ur new home..
hhah Thank you! And thank heavens it works beautifully! It's like the ONE thing on this boat we haven't had any problems with. So far.
Just a comment on installing tephlon tape. Follow the thread direction. Since you are threading "on" you will turn it clockwise. Therefore you wind the tape in the same direction. Enjoyed your video. Good job. I've subscribed!!
Thanks for the info!
I guess you found the value of a survey ! But you knew that too. Still looking good though! Enjoy warren
You have to put in a offer and a 10% deposit before you can get a survey. It has always been the plan to get one.
I don't trust a boat that doesn't leak. lol
Are you talking about under the grate? No sir, that's standing in way too many inches of black water.
You guys are awesome happy to see Bentleys doing well love you guys

Awh thank you. Yeah I think he’s our dog now. I don’t think he’s a foster anymore. Hahaha he loves this boat.
I had power/boats and yachts most of my life! Even one 42 foot sale boat! Really enjoy how you are enjoying sweat equity! Can’t wait for your videos motoring 1000 miles! Great job!
Thank you! Thanks for being here. What kinda of sailboat did you have?

Noticed what looked like a bare green corroded wire while you were filming broken clamp on black water tank
Hal saw it and said "it was nothing" but he's going to go through all of that extensively when we get home. Thanks for pointing that out!
Might be an old bare earthing wire ... best dealt with when you get home.
Hi to ya both
I just want to congratulate you on your purchase of this beautiful Boat …..also to compliment you both on the way you communicate and the co-operation and your way it shows you have a perfect compatibility to each other love this episode as best I’ve watched of you …at last you’ve moved past being reviewing and surveying boats well done both of you
Thanks so much for watching and the comment! Happy to have you here.
And it begins.
Yes it does! hahaha
I've had a lantern (the brass one) I've had numerous years & knew it was nautical but have never seen it in any videos until now,& I've watched thousands of yachting videos.
Just get some double sided tape for your fancy vent cover.
It is a two piece assembly. There where 4 screw holes in it total.
Yeah we screwed it in. Looks great!
Enjoy your adventures looking forward for all that will come
Thank you!
Velcro or double sided tape works for that vent cover if you don't want to use screws.
Thanks! Hal was able to muscle that back plate off and he went ahead and screwed it in. That'll probably stay with the boat forever now, so no problem with screws there.
I'm laughing at the number of times you've gotten this suggestion. I guess not everyone reads comments. 😂
Forward progress... looking good guys ❤
Thanks so much!
what I'm concerned with is knowing where my brain is.
right on track
No need to drill on the vent cover , just get 3m double sided trim tape . That will hold it , any automotive parts store will have it !The shower and faucet diverter might have NPT threads and your faucet won't have !
Ahhh you're right. Oh well, it's drilled now! hahah

To summ up:
He does the important stuff as always and she does the fun stuff and he needs to pretend he is supper happy 😂
Thank you ❣️😊 saving for my own liver board stay safe mick Australia.
So excited for you guys!
Please share the product that you're using for the deck leak issue!
Absolutely! That is in the next video! And actually, we have a little issue and it doesn't get resolved IN that episode, but basically, "teak deck sealer" in the caulk tube, and also Sikaflex 295 UV is good. We will go into detail Sunday!

This will be known far and wide as ‘That Hairy Boat’ over there. Love that they will try it.
Hot water and a shower! Awesome. You need to show the final product when you do something on the boat. Maybe it is in the next video.
Or maybe it’s not done yet. lol There were definitely some things that got pushed aside because there were bigger projects that were more important. Once we get the boat home, we’re going to be doing a lot of work!!
Love following you two! Wish you two the best of luck on the motoring around Florida. Looking forward to more content on sailing!
You'll have to come sailing with us.
Thanks! Come visit us plzzzzz
Maybe try to clean the bottom before the big trip? Charming boat and content guys, keep it up. Love the dog too, I told you it's a keeper 😋
hahahah Thanks! Yeah, he's getting better everyday. Gonna be harder and harder to want to find him a home, especially after we're done with this trip! We are debating having the bottom cleaned ere before we leave, or taking it south just a little bit and cleaning it ourselves. It's not terribly dirty right now, at least.
Congrats! Looks like you have a good handle on the projects, if you need a place for Bentley I'm in Sarasota and would be happy to have him.
uh oh... gosh... hahahah It wasn't until THIS week that we started to think we may actually keep him.
No problem, even if you need a baby sitter for the weekend, a few days, or just an overnight feel free to reach out, we'd be delighted to host.
Thank you for that! Truly!
Re: your heat vent. If you think you will be removing it frequently, try some velcro fasteners on the wall and back of the vent. If you think it will be once a year or longer, try a mild adhesive . All the best, Hal
Hal just screwed it in off camera when he was done using the drill. Hopefully we don’t have to unscrew it often!
We LOVE The boat!!!! 🎉
Thanks!!! Com see it soon!!
That water you think is from the head would be a good place to place a Baby Ruth candy bar it should float….
The water under the grate is black water, we're absolutely positive. That pipe has blown free more than once now, and it was a slow leak before we bought the boat. That pipe under the sink is on the back side of the backwater pump, and when the pipe blows, it's very obvious that it's blackwater.
The fake turd joke.
Happy!!happy!!happy!!!!
That is a floor register, which is why there are no screw.
There was 4 screw holes. They're hidden.
Look for mold when you get to it
Many happy adventures on your way. will keep looking for videos.
It does not sound like its going to be a complete refit. But who knows for sure until you get into it.
Tons of stuff to do! The teak deck and the rigging and chain plates definitely being the biggest and most expensive things. TONS of little stuff, and when I say "little", like $500 a pop stuff. It adds up!
Yeah correct, not a total refit. Super happy about that!
I can’t recommend enough getting a composting toilet. No leaks, no smell, no pump outs, and no through hulls. I will never own another boat with a holding tank.
I get ya. 1100 bucks though. I'd like to put a Air Head in mine.

You might be able to use a smaller foresail if wind is favorable.

Bentley is such a sweet fluffball. I'd love to hug him 🤗
How much fuel do you plan for a 1000 mile trip ??
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Hopefully Hal can watch this closely and keep a log of it so we can share that in a future video.

2 sided velcro tape for the pretty brass looking vent (since no screws).

Better put an anode in from the water heater company my tank got ate up in two years. It’s about 30 bucks
I believe it came with one in it?
They are all built with anodes. Some water is just real hard and it eats them.
We will check! Thanks for the heads up!
Drill holes in the vent matching holes in other vent, get some gold/brass colored screws and screw it in.
