In their songs sometimes Vessel is singing from Sleeps perspective. In the video, Vessel is being created. Offering his heart to Sleep and Sleep offering Vessel an apple of eden.
This definitely is the "birth" of Vessel. Also, yes its experimental. This being the beginning of Sleep Token, its more raw and eclectic and they start to really find their "sound" as each song progresses. The wonderful part of Vessel's lyrics and music is that it's left up to the viewer/listener to interpret it based on their own experiences. Truly genius! The fact that he's writing about his personal experiences and people can find meaning from their own life is amazing. I didnt understand this when I first heard it, it took me a few times before I started to "get" the song. And after I went through the entire discography did it start making sense, And as I went back to the beginning, with the knowledge of the lore and further understanding of it, did this start to be a song that was so unique and creative, it just started ro mean more as my understanding grew. Nice reaction tho. I can't wait for you to start understanding what's going on with their music 😅 i cant wait for When The Bough Breaks 😊. Then onto TWO!! I like it better better than EP ONE. But i can appreciate the first one better than I used to. Worship ❤
Its going to be a fun journey, trying to piece together things that everyone already knows. The way you describe it is kind of like a museum art piece. Everyone can look at a painting of lines and dots and essentially see a reflection of self, even if they don't realize that's whats happening.
@@RichInReaction exactly 💯!!! This is art, totally! They do experiment with their songs and that's what makes them so good. You can listen to a song 10 times and hear something you didn't every time 😁. His lyrics are poetic and then the sounds he plays with that gives you goosebumps, Vessel is brilliant and he knows what frequencies/vibrations can affect a person physically 😊😂😋. He's that good 😆
@@darcystcorner2580 I see how Vessel was visited by Sleep and that his acceptance allowed Vessel to find his path in life. That by putting his faith in Sleep allowed him to grow, mourn, and finally accept the outcome of a toxic relationship. You can love someone hard, and long for them to love you back the same way, and it's painful when they don't. And by the end, with all the ups and downs, Vessel finally accepts the outcome and is able to find a little peace by the end. The whole TMBTE album is like he's taken all the punishment he can take, all the longing and begging to be loved back the way he's loved them throughout this trilogy of albums is passionate, beautiful, melancholic and soul stirring. Vessel feels that Sleep is his salvation of sorts and gave Vessel the strength to grow into the man he is today. What a beautiful soul he has by sharing his pain, longing and suffering with the world. At least that's my interpretation of the trilogy.
Aww, it's baby vessel ❤ earlier songs I believe were only him and II came in later. I may be a fan but even I am not up to date on everything 😂 his first songs are definitely different, but after a couple listens, they grow on you. Sleep token has always been one to experiment with their sound.
Please don’t get hung up in the “lore” thing. People out here will have you believing all kinds of nonsense, seriously. The only “lore” Vessel ever spoke of was that sleep is a he, they worship him and their songs are offerings to him. They are not written about some weird ass relationship with a male deity they are written from his human experiences and his toxic relationship with “her”. If you know vessel beyond sleep token then you know what’s up and if you don’t then you believe what the masses made up. I get a lot of hate for making these comments but it doesn’t make me wrong. Sorry if this came across as a rant it was not written with that tone. My interpretation of the song is this: It’s their first time together, he offers himself to her completely because he’s in love with her. The taking of the apple represents the loss of innocence. Spending the night in fascination in the invisible space means they are getting freaky and no one knows. Threading the needle is also a metaphor for sex. You turn the lights down is obvious and come on and find out… need I say more lol

I would’ve never guessed that lol. I thought there was a symbolism of birth there. May have to rewatch with that in mind
Worship....😊

What is your understanding of the “lore”?

So far each song has been its own experience lol.

Maybe I’ll check out if there are any interviews in between EPs. If nothing else the songs do seem to mean something different for ppl
