The writers actually stepped up to speak about Lane's father. They said that he never really came forward in ideas, in the sense that most of the scenes with Lane were fighting or trying to please her mom or just with her band. They never meant to really exclude him, but when it came to writing scenes, he just never made an appearance.
I'm hoping for Lorelei saying it to Emily, cause yeah Rory saying it to Lorelei would sum the entire series up nicely, but we already know this. Lorelei saying it to Emily would be a big deal. This series was about Lorelei, her childhood rebelling against her mom. Her raising Rory was her doing things different from her mom. And while Lorelei 'hated' her mom, Emily tried to get closer to her daughter..unfortunately by force which makes her rebel even more. If Emily lets go and they can make a better mother/daughter bond having Lorelei saying ILY to her mom would be a good ending. I don't remember her saying it to Emily and its kinda everything Emily wants to hear from her. It would be a good outcome to her journey and therefore a good last sentence to this series.

christopher never came off as a douche for me, he is a flawed character but i've always liked him. but i really hope he will have scenes with rory and also with lorelai in the new episodes. i hope he is more involved in rory's life now.
To me, Christopher was the perfect boyfriend for Lorelai. He knew/accepted everything. Unfortunately, Chris has always been lived his whole life. Know what I mean? Others forcing you making decisions or deciding for you. First it was too young, then not together enough, then Sherry, then his jealousy towards Luke.

Why would it be a bad thing? She would be close to 30 now and she's had years of work experience after Yale. Most people were glad she turned down Logan's proposal because she was so young but the character is certainly old enough now to be ready to settle down.

I always loved Dean, he kept Rory grounded and down to earth. Jess was always selfish and abrasive, and was never there when she needed him. Logan was a bad influence and too entitled for Rory. I think Dean was the best suited for her character and I always thought she was happier with him.

I always wondered why in the early episodes when they were searching for an Inn to buy, and in one particular episode, Lorelei had to drive Luke's Ex who wanted to film it, out to the Inn, so she wouldn't get lost. They had to drive way out to the old house that would be the Dragonfly Inn. And then somehow later, the Dragonfly Inn is a street over from Mainstreet, so that townspeople could pop over for lunch, and Lorelei could come and go to get coffee. That always puzzled me.
I feel like the final four words are going to be something like "we are Gilmore Girls" or something unifying like that. Though I liked the one suggestion for "I love you Mom"!!
?? Christopher is only appearing because Gigi will be in the show. They already covered that they couldn't find someone to play Lane's father. They continue to refer to Lane as having two parents though, because he didn't die. Kirk bought the Twikum house. Paris is a doctor and is in the show for a high school reunion. She's in all of the trailers. I think that after Richard died, they kept up the Friday night dinners as a form of comfort. Rory isn't ending up with anyone. That's the point of being a Gilmore Girl. They're not made for marriage. They are single for life. She is an unemployed gen x-er. Hep Alien is still together. The apple and pop tarts are a reference to the episode where they went to see the Bangles.
I love Jess, but I don't want Rory with any one of her past relationships. Plus, I'm hoping that after all these years Jess still isn't still pining over Rory. But, I can see them being really good friends.
Here's how I look at: Jess is nonredeemable; guys like that never change. She was never in love with Dean, she's just a people pleaser and didn't want to hurt him and too young to know what she wants. Logan did some bad things but with some time and a little growing up he could earn his forgiveness. If it isn't Logan I hope its a new character.
Madelyn Today+ She was in love with Dean gave her virginity but too young. Got attracted to the bad boy who was a real ass went on to Logan who is rich and feels entitled. I'm hoping Dean. They are much older now.
Because they are just perfect together ? I mean eventhough I love Jared Dean is just boring as hell and Logan is a douchbag. If we just remember how were the characters at the end of the show, the only realistic match for Rory is Jess, as a grown up woman she could never be happy with someone like Dean or Logan.
I feel the same. I think Rory would be settling with Jess when she could do so much better. Didn't like Jess's winey attitude or his immaturity. At leasst Tristan was a likable kid. If I could choose I would love for Tristan to come back from "military school" aka One Tree Hill and for Rory to have a fresh start, and mature relationship there. Like one we have yet to see. I could always see the gentlemen inside Tristan. Great chemistry too IMO. Such a shame it was cut off.
My relationship hope for rory in preference order: Tristan (along with her happiness) Independence (along with her happiness) Logan (along with her happiness) ... Jess/Dean (along with her happiness)
I liked Dean at the beginning but I liked Tristan more (though Jared Padalecki is wonderful) . So much missed potential in Tristan's character... His flaws would've made for a GREAT story arch. Not to mention he was very likable and the chemistry with Rory was perfect IMO! If chad micheal murry were available we could see him return from military school (aka One Tree Hill) and that would be my dream story line though I know it is very unlikely. Over all I hope to see something different and a happy ending!

loreli didn't break up with christopher because she had feelings for luke. she broke up with him because she realized that things weren't going to work out. also she didn't even know she still wanted to be with luke until the last or second to last episode.
Dean, Jess,or Logan? I would like to see Rory end up with Tristen. There could have been something there if he would have been less of a jerk and I think he could have been a better person if Rory would give him a chance. Plus not many people would guess that option.
He had a great redemption story line! I love Tristan and it would be a dream come true if they ended up together. I can see Tristan being the man for Rory following his leave to military school. Great chemistry there! #TRISTANANDRORYALWAYS
Alba Chaséz Exactly, I mean she did date Logan who was just as bad as Tristan if not more with the whole life and death brigade. I think that is apart of the show that could be explored more like in a spin off. I wrote one myself lol...I mean if the Madeline and Louise came out later after Chilton why couldn't Tristan for a little closure. Plus she didn't go back to fully Jess after Logan "Cheated." Dean didn't work out after a few break ups and Logan probably moved on when she didn't want to pick up and go to California. It would be nice to have the unexpected choice
I did like that Lorelai mentions that she would want to continue Friday night dinners even after Rory leaves for her new job. Emily always assumed that Rory was the draw for these dinners and if she wasn’t around then the dinners would automatically stop. I just wished that Lorelai at least would have tried to reinstate some form of Friday night dinners after Richard died to help Emily with the grieving process. She would have to bring Luke each time since they are now living together. Emily didn’t handle Richard’s death well and Lorelai was her usual selfish self in all of it and that really annoyed me. I also would have liked a heartfelt moment at the end of the revival where after Emily tells Lorelai she sold her house and is moving I think to either Nantucket or the Cape that both Lorelai and Rory surprise Emily on the first Friday night she’s living there and they say something along the lines of “just because you moved to a different state doesn’t mean you can get out of having us over for Friday night dinner” and the scene would end with a slowly zoomed out shot of the three of them eating dinner in the dining room and Emily berating Lorelai for her latest life choices and asking Rory how her journalism career is going. That would have been an amazing scene. It would have shown that a lot has changed and yet at the same time very little has changed too.
If Paris was Pre-Med at Yale, how did she have time to be the editor or the newspaper? Isn't that a position usually filled by a journalism student? Am I thinking too hard?
*SPOILER ALERT WARNING* Just to be clear, I have watched the revival before watching the show properly- it made me rewatch from the beginning- and right now I only have season 7 to fill in. Here are my top 10 burning questions following the revival: 10) WAS MITCHUM RIGHT ABOUT RORY? We were led to believe during most of the original seasons that Rory is bright, intelligent, talented and destined to write, and specifically journalism. Occasionally, we had someone critic her for her writing (Doyle, Mitchum). In the revival she is struggling to find a decent writing job, which begs the question: what if Mitchum was actually right about her, and she was wasting her time in journalism?.. Having her write a book about her and Lorelei's relationship felt like perfect closure, but is it any good? 9) WHAT IS PATTY'S BACKSTORY WITH SHOW BUSINESS- AND WHY DID SHE COME TO STARS HOLLOW? While her character is amazing and brings a lot of color to the show, I've often wondered why she left show-business to be a ballet dancer in a small town instead of being a famous actress. 8) WHAT HAPPENED TO LUKE'S FATHER'S BOAT? He was working on it on season 5 but I don't recall it being finished. Is it still dusting around in Lorelei's garage or something? 7) WHAT HAPPENED WITH JESS AND HIS FATHER? On the end of season 3, he came to his father and it is implied he stayed there. However, every time we see Jess afterwards, it is never revealed what happened there, whether his father behaved more like a parent or kicked him out... It would be really nice to know, since the show did go the extra mile to introduce the characters and setting, but it remained a loose end. 6) WHEN WILL EMILY'S COUNTLESS FIRED MAIDS JOIN FORCES AND SUE HER IN A CLASS ACTION FOR WRONGFUL TERMINATION?! It would be a real hoot to see this. 5) WILL KIRK EVER FIND A STEADY JOB? Honestly, man, it's nice to experience in different things once in awhile, but it seems he changes it almost every episode he's in! 4) ARE TAYLOR AND MICHELLE GAY??? As a gay man myself, I kept waiting to see if these characters were gay or bi or straight or else... I don't recall Michelle ever specifically mentioning a boyfriend or girlfriend, only remember he said he goes to dates- and I rarely saw Taylor mention love life or anything (although the town's meeting in the revival suggests some people think he is indeed gay and in the closet). 3) WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ALL THE DISSAPEARING EXES, FRIENDS, AND ABSENT CHARACTERS? There are so many characters who vanished to thin air, some were inexplicably absent to begin with, some left us curious to their fates: Tristan, Dave, Lane's father, Marty, Sherry, Madeline and Louise, Max and all of Lorelei's, Rory's and Luke's exes... Where are they now? 2) WILL LUKE AND LORELEI EVER HAVE KIDS TOGETHER? The revival actually toyed with the idea, but it got sidelined somewhere along the way. Will they not have biological children together, instead be parent-figures to Rory's baby and have Luke experiencing a newborn for the first time? 1) WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WITH RORY'S BABY? Will she tell Logan? If so, will he leave his wife and raise the baby with her? Or will Rory be a single parent just like her mom, but have both Lorelei and Luke to help? Sadly, only the imagination will answer these probably.
there's one question I think deserves an honorable mention....did Luke & April ever get to take their father/daughter boat trip?

Why would it be a bad thing? She would be close to 30 now and she's had years of work experience after Yale. Most people were glad she turned down Logan's proposal because she was so young but the character is certainly old enough now to be ready to settle down.

I always loved Dean, he kept Rory grounded and down to earth. Jess was always selfish and abrasive, and was never there when she needed him. Logan was a bad influence and too entitled for Rory. I think Dean was the best suited for her character and I always thought she was happier with him.

I always wondered why in the early episodes when they were searching for an Inn to buy, and in one particular episode, Lorelei had to drive Luke's Ex who wanted to film it, out to the Inn, so she wouldn't get lost. They had to drive way out to the old house that would be the Dragonfly Inn. And then somehow later, the Dragonfly Inn is a street over from Mainstreet, so that townspeople could pop over for lunch, and Lorelei could come and go to get coffee. That always puzzled me.
The independence inn is the one closer to the diner. The dragonfly is like 10minutes away from starshollow.
I really hope that they make some kind of joke about supernatural. like the lights at the Inn flickering and Dean getting all freaked out lol

Here's how I look at: Jess is nonredeemable; guys like that never change. She was never in love with Dean, she's just a people pleaser and didn't want to hurt him and too young to know what she wants. Logan did some bad things but with some time and a little growing up he could earn his forgiveness. If it isn't Logan I hope its a new character.

If we just remember how were the characters at the end of the show, the only realistic match for Rory is Jess, as a grown up woman she could never be happy with someone like Dean or Logan.
I feel the same. I think Rory would be settling with Jess when she could do so much better. Didn't like Jess's winey attitude or his immaturity. At leasst Tristan was a likable kid. If I could choose I would love for Tristan to come back from "military school" aka One Tree Hill and for Rory to have a fresh start, and mature relationship there. Like one we have yet to see. I could always see the gentlemen inside Tristan. Great chemistry too IMO. Such a shame it was cut off.

I liked Dean at the beginning but I liked Tristan more (though Jared Padalecki is wonderful) . So much missed potential in Tristan's character... His flaws would've made for a GREAT story arch.
Not to mention he was very likable and the chemistry with Rory was perfect IMO! If chad micheal murry were available we could see him return from military school (aka One Tree Hill) and that would be my dream story line though I know it is very unlikely. Over all I hope to see something different and a happy ending!

I think that is apart of the show that could be explored more like in a spin off. I wrote one myself lol...I mean if the Madeline and Louise came out later after Chilton why couldn't Tristan for a little closure. Plus she didn't go back to fully Jess after Logan "Cheated." Dean didn't work out after a few break ups and Logan probably moved on when she didn't want to pick up and go to California. It would be nice to have the unexpected choice

I did like that Lorelai mentions that she would want to continue Friday night dinners even after Rory leaves for her new job. Emily always assumed that Rory was the draw for these dinners and if she wasn’t around then the dinners would automatically stop. I just wished that Lorelai at least would have tried to reinstate some form of Friday night dinners after Richard died to help Emily with the grieving process. She would have to bring Luke each time since they are now living together. Emily didn’t handle Richard’s death well and Lorelai was her usual selfish self in all of it and that really annoyed me. I also would have liked a heartfelt moment at the end of the revival where after Emily tells Lorelai she sold her house and is moving I think to either Nantucket or the Cape that both Lorelai and Rory surprise Emily on the first Friday night she’s living there and they say something along the lines of “just because you moved to a different state doesn’t mean you can get out of having us over for Friday night dinner” and the scene would end with a slowly zoomed out shot of the three of them eating dinner in the dining room and Emily berating Lorelai for her latest life choices and asking Rory how her journalism career is going. That would have been an amazing scene. It would have shown that a lot has changed and yet at the same time very little has changed too.

*SPOILER ALERT WARNING*
Just to be clear, I have watched the revival before watching the show properly- it made me rewatch from the beginning- and right now I only have season 7 to fill in.
Here are my top 10 burning questions following the revival:
10) WAS MITCHUM RIGHT ABOUT RORY? We were led to believe during most of the original seasons that Rory is bright, intelligent, talented and destined to write, and specifically journalism. Occasionally, we had someone critic her for her writing (Doyle, Mitchum). In the revival she is struggling to find a decent writing job, which begs the question: what if Mitchum was actually right about her, and she was wasting her time in journalism?.. Having her write a book about her and Lorelei's relationship felt like perfect closure, but is it any good?
9) WHAT IS PATTY'S BACKSTORY WITH SHOW BUSINESS- AND WHY DID SHE COME TO STARS HOLLOW? While her character is amazing and brings a lot of color to the show, I've often wondered why she left show-business to be a ballet dancer in a small town instead of being a famous actress.
8) WHAT HAPPENED TO LUKE'S FATHER'S BOAT? He was working on it on season 5 but I don't recall it being finished. Is it still dusting around in Lorelei's garage or something?
7) WHAT HAPPENED WITH JESS AND HIS FATHER? On the end of season 3, he came to his father and it is implied he stayed there. However, every time we see Jess afterwards, it is never revealed what happened there, whether his father behaved more like a parent or kicked him out... It would be really nice to know, since the show did go the extra mile to introduce the characters and setting, but it remained a loose end.
6) WHEN WILL EMILY'S COUNTLESS FIRED MAIDS JOIN FORCES AND SUE HER IN A CLASS ACTION FOR WRONGFUL TERMINATION?! It would be a real hoot to see this.
5) WILL KIRK EVER FIND A STEADY JOB? Honestly, man, it's nice to experience in different things once in awhile, but it seems he changes it almost every episode he's in!
4) ARE TAYLOR AND MICHELLE GAY??? As a gay man myself, I kept waiting to see if these characters were gay or bi or straight or else... I don't recall Michelle ever specifically mentioning a boyfriend or girlfriend, only remember he said he goes to dates- and I rarely saw Taylor mention love life or anything (although the town's meeting in the revival suggests some people think he is indeed gay and in the closet).
3) WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ALL THE DISSAPEARING EXES, FRIENDS, AND ABSENT CHARACTERS? There are so many characters who vanished to thin air, some were inexplicably absent to begin with, some left us curious to their fates: Tristan, Dave, Lane's father, Marty, Sherry, Madeline and Louise, Max and all of Lorelei's, Rory's and Luke's exes... Where are they now?
2) WILL LUKE AND LORELEI EVER HAVE KIDS TOGETHER? The revival actually toyed with the idea, but it got sidelined somewhere along the way. Will they not have biological children together, instead be parent-figures to Rory's baby and have Luke experiencing a newborn for the first time?
1) WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WITH RORY'S BABY? Will she tell Logan? If so, will he leave his wife and raise the baby with her? Or will Rory be a single parent just like her mom, but have both Lorelei and Luke to help?
Sadly, only the imagination will answer these probably.
