I cannot explain it, but the part where she sings "what if the dead are never truly dead" is so beautiful and terrifying at the same time. The sudden change of key definitely plays a role in it
This is absolutely incredible. The changes in tone, the harmonies, the aggressive output to somber. There's just so much put into this. Vocals are equally as beautiful to the instruments. Please never stop, guys.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
"When I run over the frightful catalogue of my sins, I cannot believe that I am the same creature whose thoughts were once filled with sublime and transcendent visions of the beauty and the majesty of goodness. But it is even so; the fallen angel becomes a malignant devil." - Victor's creation
Sometimes your song's melodies and harmonies are so fantastic I forget to actually hear the lyrics. And then when I process what they're saying I realise they're just as amazing as everything else 😂😂👏
I discovered your band 3 days ago, at a party, someone added "enchanté" to the playlist. Im listening your songs since, discovering 2 or 3 per day. And Today i found this one.. What a f***ing MASTERPIECE. OMG I'm shocked. When the chorus hit. I started to cry in the street, in front of everybody. Crying, AND smiling. I don't have enough words to say how i felt. Just, thank you. Thank you so much.
I really love the oh's in the background. Really ties the whole song together! But now I cant decide if Never a Key, or this one is better ugh! THEYRE BOTH TOO GOOD
OMG I love the song! I can't get enough of the first 30 seconds, and the rest of it is fanTAStic. It almost feels like the song is being sung by a villain.
Besides thunderbird, this is perhaps the one I struggle the most with in terms of placing in the timeline. All the thematic pieces line up superbly, but it seems to fall on a watershed moment between the AI's rise to prominence, but early enough that flaws can still slip in somehow -- At least based on the references to the metal army marching on, about the individual sojourning, and the necessity of the duty remaining little known; To say nothing of the distortion at the end of the song. Definitely a puzzler I'm still not sure how to dissect, even after these weeks. Its good that your work is so thought provoking, even after all these listens through!
I'm feeling the sci fi themes in this EP more strongly, also I love these lyric videos so much! (Sometimes I have trouble separating words and your lyrics are always so full of meaning, so I'm glad to never miss a word here)
My 4 year old asked why I paused the song then said “I like that song, is it an avenger song?” 😂 high praise coming from marvel obsessed kiddo 😆 But I agree, this fam loves this song 💯 Also love effects of this lyric video, wow!
I love this song, a lot, definitely one of my favorites (I love to sing along!), but this has been bothering me since I first learned the lyrics: "And through the forest haunted/I sojourn forward dauntless" Why dauntless when undaunted rhymes with haunted? Are the subtle differences between their definitions really worth not rhyming?
@@imgayareyou I did think of this. I prefer near rhymes over perfect rhymes when they are available. It feels more conversational and allows for surprises. But I agree, this one could have easily gone the way you’re suggesting.
I've never thought about using near-rhymes instead of rhymes. Thank you for clearing that up! It's been on my mind often enough that I once had a dream I had to sing Wax Cylinder Sonata, and I paid extra attention to make sure I said dauntless rather than undaunted, haha. I'll definitely be thinking about it the next time I try writing lyrics!
This song is exquisitely poetic and powerful, one of the first ones that grabbed my brain from Deadhorse and wouldn’t let go. That said - tangentially, it occurred to me when listening to the Beethoven sonata bit at the end of this track that there are a lot of similarities between the sonata Pathetique movement 2 and (I realize how goofy this may sound, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to Beethoven!) that song the little mice sing to each other from “An American Tale”! So now I’m wondering both if this was intentional on the parts of the songwriters of “Somewhere Out There” and if there was any intent by DPR to evoke this at all, seeing as the mouse movie would be a contemporary film with “Return to Oz”? Probably a reach but that’s where my pre coffee brain is going…
bffman200 there is. We haven’t discussed the story for the Deadhorse project yet. Our previous series was called the Raven Locks. We did a number of Facebook Lives where we told the story. There’s a sub reddit where someone has posted the links to these videos. Following us on Facebook helps as well.
I never find a dirt poor robinsons song on purpose, they always find me.

@Cristiano Ronnie Instablaster =)
The imagery of the lines of text on the page of a book as the bars of a cage is powerful.

I haven't heard a song this otherworldly and haunting in a while.

I gotta say never a key is just a bit better
@@bffman2004 I agree, as amazing as it is, "Wax Cylinder Sonata" is my least favorite song from gold, the other songs are just that breathtaking x3

Not all villains are evil. Some are just lost.

Steampunk Serenade. Another glorious offering. Thank you for this.
I’m not sure if this is my favorite from Gold, or if Saints 1&2 are, or if they’re all my favorite. I’ll just go with all of them

Best way I could describe y'all's music is if you could hear a steampunk-style galaxy. I have no idea what it means but it has the right vibes

It really should be an avenger song though, would've fit well in WandaVision
My favorite from the new EP, love it!
Definitely one of my new favorites. I love everything about it!
THIS SONG IS SO GOOD IM GONNA PUT IT ON REPEAT FOR THE NEXT WEEK THANK YOU
TRUUUUUU
I always think of the inevitables from dnd when I listen to this, anyone else get those vibes?

@@dirtpoorrobins thanks that really help's, love the music btw
I cannot for the life of me. Remember what the tune to the end of the song is called.
Sonata Pathetique by Beethoven
@@dirtpoorrobins Thank youuuu!
How Delightful
This is beyond my imagination :O What a song
Wow, this is awesome
I can see Kansas covering this one
They would crush that bridge!
