  • @c4rn199
    @c4rn199 8 месяцев назад +2

    We had emissions in my county for a few years but now they just do safety inspections. Even for our safety inspections they do visual checks for the stock cat and if you have an aftermarket cat they go to the scan tool to make sure the sensor is reporting correctly. This is just for safety so they more strict on the emissions side. That o2 sensor extender is a dead giveaway that you're trying to bypass the system. When I had to do emissions they would print out a report on how efficient my cat was, they would actually stick a sensor in the exhaust and the state decided if it would pass or fail.
    That emissions readiness is a good tool to have in the torque app, most states allow you to have one of those systems not ready. Usually you can get the system to ready up with a short drive with your gas tank between 1/4 and 3/4. If you try it on a full tank most of the time it takes a lot longer or the evap doesn't ready up.

    The O2 sensors meassure how much O2 there is in the exhaust. The information from the upstream one(s) feed back to the ECU that regulates the Air Fuel mixture accordingly. The sensor downstream of the catalyst converter should read less O2 than the upsteam sensor and the extention gives the sensor less access to the O2 in the exhaust due to reduced pressure on the sensor when using the extention.

      @@PhillipsVision ah got it. thank you! last question: any issue/problems installing these with a catted dp as opposed to catless? want to go with a high flow 200 cell sport cats to get most of the benefits of catless without the smell. but it will still prob end up throwing a CEL and was hoping to avoid that with an O2 spacer. thanks in advance!
