This is very cool. For people who own cutting machines would your stencil material work for them?
Hello Anna. Our silk screen stencils must be exposed under a UV light, then washed out and dried. The mesh screen is what holds the stencil together. They can not be cut to create a stencil. Hope this helps!

So you said, "it's recommened you use water based inks," but if I wanted to use plastisol inks? Would the stencil damage with the type of cleaning products for plastisols, even if they are invironmentally safe? Im learning a lot with silk screen printing and this looks like an easier way to go about it.

How long does the "sticky" last - can you reapply "sticky" or is the stencil no good when the sticky wears out?
It will depend on what surface you are using it on. For example, if you are doing tshirts, the adhesive will lose its tack faster than if you are doing a chalkboard or other hard surface. You can lightly dampen the adhesive to make it more tacky, but we don't have anything to apply to the stencil to make it more tacky.
Can I reuse this stencil immediately? I’d like to use this on cardboard boxes for my business
Alex Nguyen ... yes! Check out our other video on onesies, you can see us reuse without washing off the stencil in between. Some people mount them to a speedball screen print frame to make multiple prints easier as well.
How would I mount it to the back of a speedball print frame? Would I be able to wash it while still on the frame?
What if i used this in combination with a speedball mesh, could i place it ontop of the mesh and print multiple items? Very interested in this
You wouldn't want to put it on top of the Speedball mesh, because then you would be going through two layers of mesh (our stencils have a mesh embedded in them). But you could remove the Speedball mesh and mount our stencil film in the frame.

What kind of surface can the stencil be used on? Can I use it to stencil floors, walls, my concrete front porch?

We haven't tested that. We haven't gone through FDA approval for our stencils.
Would this work for very small and detailed artwork? I am looking for 2" x 3" or 4" x 3" silk screens to make for jewelry.
Yes! That should be no problem. As long as you print your artwork dark it should work. Join our Ikonart Crafters Facebook group to see other people do this exact sort of thing.
If you are going to be making several pieces with the same stencil do you need to wash it in between each use?
Hi Pam... We posted a video on the gallery page of our website (the "a true love story never ends" one) where we did not wash the stencil between uses and it worked good. You just have to be careful about the ink from the back of your used stencil transferring to your other pieces. ikonartstencil.com/gallery/
Is this like a silkscreen transfer with mesh in it? And can I use chalk couture paste for it too??

Can you stick your stencil down with tape? Would it damage the result of the stencil if you accidentally over developed the film?

Are these food safe for cookie stenciling? Can you cut them down to smaller squares? Thank you
Hi Marie!! Our stencil film is not technically FDA approved, so we can’t say it is food safe. But we do have people who use them for cookies. And yes you can cut them down to any size you’d like.

Hi Adriana. The great thing about creating custom stencils with the IKONART Custom Stencil Kit is that you have complete freedom over what design you create! You can create your own artwork in a design program such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc. You can also purchase artwork from a variety of clipart sites or use svg files that you may already own. There are also a lot of sites online that offer free clipart and svg files. Hope that helps!
do we print our design onto paper? It looked like the design was printed onto a clear film.
@@doodlindaisies Excellent question! Depending on what type of printer you have, you would print onto either the Inkjet Printer Paper or Laser Printer Paper that comes in the kit. We will be filming an entire video dedicated to artwork... Coming soon!! :)

do you have to use the squeegee, what if I wanted to use an airbrush instead?
Anything that is water based can be used with our stencils. Airbrush works okay. I’ve never personally done it but some people in our Ikonart Crafters Facebook group have posted pics about it. Just keep in mind that you are going through mesh so it might take some practice to perfect your technique.

You would just setup your artwork on two different stencils and screen print the color separately 👍🏼

Can I use a hand drawn picture on the iKON art sheet?
Yes definitely! You can either draw directly on the clear printer film with a sharpie marker, or you can convert your hand drawings into digital art and then print onto the printer film with your printer.

You can use an inkjet or laser printer. We sell the printer film for either one, and the starter kit comes with a sample of each.

Oh wow this is cool and not that expensive either, not a lot of work either. What type of paper you print on, printer paper or transparent film, think I'm gonna save up for this and use chalk paint for decor oh yeah.
The transparency film that you print your artwork on is included in the IKONART Custom Stencil Kit (for both laser and inkjet printers). Then we sell the refill transparencies on our website. :)
Can you use this for a shirt?

That is a design I purchased. You can buy designs or create your own using a design program like Gravit, or we have free designs on our website.

How do you store it?

Can I use flour on the stencil?
Flour?? I’m not sure I understand. Our stencil film has a fine mesh embedded in it. Powder will go through the mesh.
