  • This is an Air Baltic ticket via Riga. The first flight from Helsinki was operated by Carpatair flying a 31 year old Fokker 100. Although, the ticket said it was an A220 and I prebooked seat number 7A. Would have preferred a rear window seat for this flight. The transit time in Riga was nearly 12 hours, so allowed a trip into the city to see the historic centre, a UNESCO world heritage centre, followed by a night flight to Tel Aviv, arriving just before 4 am the following morning.

The no. 22 bus from the airport goes through downtown in about 30 minutes for 1.15 euros. It leaves about every 15-20 minutes from 5:30 in the morning until about 11:30 at night. Air Baltic has grounded 6 A220s because of supply chain problems with spare parts.

Thanks for that. I also read about the grounding of 6 A220s. Is bus number 22 from Tel Aviv airport to Jerusalem?

@@robertmaher184 Sorry. The 22 bus is in Riga. It leaves from a bus stop in the airport parking lot and the return bus drops off passengers directly at the departures door for Air Baltic. I will fly to Riga on Sept 15 from Oslo on Air Baltic.

@@peterrisbergs7156 Yes, bus 22 would be cheaper than a taxi. All the best for your trip!
