Thanks @jmark7390 !! I can’t believe all the buildings made out of petrified wood and how it’s just laying around out there. It’s pretty crazy right?!?
Great entry into AZ with Fort Courage! Glad you got to Holbrook for that wheel bearing fix! The Wigwam Motel was a class stay and then a movie at the Roxy Theater. The Bucket of Blood Saloon was a history lesson in this Arizona stretch of Route 66. More fun on the Route 66 adventure!
Great video and much appreciated for the knowledge and history of yesterday’s effort to build communities in the middle of nowhere, I applaud their efforts.
@@jeffthisted Mate, I'm thinking about doing RTE 66 and RTE 50 next year. rentacar tho., with my lovely partner. From New Zealand. Love those motels, do you have a list of where you stayed? Cheers Jeff keep up the great work.

All the vehicles that have crossed that concrete pad.........WOW
Hi jeff thanks for the tour f troop was one of my favourite shows it would have been good to see it going back in the day the old mobil would have been good to see back then . What i think of was saving a few minutes by passing a town worth all the jobs lost an places closed down . Cheers mate🇦🇺
You’re welcome @peterselten500 !! The F-Troop location was pretty cool right?!? I want to go back and look inside the old Taco Bell. It’s sad what the interstate did to all these small towns. Thank you for coming along for the ride with me!!
Ok Jeff you should pack your wheel bearings about every 30K :} The original 55,S had Ball Bearings had to pack them about every 15K Thanks for the fun.
Thanks @larrybaugher2366 it has a brand new Roadster Shop chassis. The bearings were professionally packed. Thank you for coming along for the ride with me!!
There was an old greyhound station that stood before Querino and Houck. Plus an old gas station that was used in the movie Ace in the hole with Kirk Douglas.
@@jeffthisted the greyhound station and store is gone, the foundations are still there. At that gas station in Lupton, there is a gentleman named Navajo Elvis who lives down the road. The old greyhound station is where young navajos were taken to Intermountain school in Utah.
Everything on that car is very DIY fixable. Feel bad you are having a few issues but you do drive the hell out of that "55". Wheel bearing on that should be repacked and inspected yearly. It is actually something YOU could do in a couple of hours just hanging out in your driveway having a couple of beers on a nice summer's day. Learn how-to old-school hand pack them, don't be using that junkie plastic bearing packer. The video was great. I haven't been there (AZ) yet but I'm looking forward to it this June.
@@jeffthisted hopi ave? I love following along & if I ever get back out there I’d like to see these treasures for myself. The one I worked at is gone & now a sheetz
You watched the video @linj638 and you’re asking me “did something break down?” If you actually watched the video you’d know it was a wheel bearing just like I explained in the video. Have you been drinking again???
I saw the part where they had to take off the tires and some brakes plates from overdriving long distance, etc….. but I know nothing about cars, so the parts that I am pointing out to you may be wrong.
That's what cars are for to drive they're not like at no difference in you driving that car every day and somebody go and spending $60,000 for a new Ford truck and driving it
I agree with you @davidjustice5805 !! That's why I built The 55 to drive it. But you're wrong when you say it's the same as buying a new Ford truck. Modern vehicles have modern conveniences that classic cars don't have - like anti-lock brakes, shoulder belts, air filtration systems and a whole lot more.
If only we could go back in time and experience these places in their prime.
At least they're still there for us to enjoy and not demolished right @2000TA ?!?
@@jeffthisted absolutely!! I hope they're still there once i get my wagon.
