Excellent video that started with my favorite-a fast SpongeBob hauling the freight. I think they look so cool charging down the rails. The NS high-speed with the BNSF “War Bonnet” on point was even cooler. And that top it with a “Triple-meet”, followed by a cool-looking tanker consist. Thank you for the awesome video, much appreciated.

I have to say this: Back in the seventies there was a fire in Seney National Wildlife refuge in the U.P. of Michigan it encompassed 10,500,000 acres of forest, and it did the same as these fires but most people don't know about it.

A nice triple train meet to start things off today. WWoT likes that kind of train action. Another chance to see the WWoT car today,, but it was nowhere to be seen. Santa Fe had the best paint scheme for their locomotives and BNSF has continued with the scheme on a number of their locomotives.

I was in a place called Round Rock Texas and saw two trains one coming eastbound and the other westbound in all my time spotting trains I have never seen two in the same day almost minutes after each other plus one of them had a Nathan Air Chime K5LLA 3rd generation horn my favorite horn of all time!! and I was kind of surprised like you were seeing the train coming out of nowhere the other way also!!

Great video. All those UPS trailers on the TOFC car. I’m a feeder driver at UPS. I go to Croxton N.S. Rail Yard regularly and North Bergen CSX yard regularly to retrieve UPS trailers.

0:40 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York on 28 June 2023. We are looking west at CSX train #W085 comes around the curve from the east end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. It is hard to see the train because of the smoke from the wildfires in Quebec, Canada that is causing visibility and health problems in the United States. CSX train #W085 starts across Middle Road at 1:06. At 1:08 the engineer of CSX train #W085 gives you a horn salute and a wave. CSX train #@085 is a loaded welded rail train. At 1:39 CSX train #W085 passes Middle Road.
2:51 We are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 28 June 2023 at the CSX tracks. At 2:56 we hear the horn of an approaching train. You walk closer to the CSX tracks. You look west and there is no train visible from that direction. At 3:17 you walk across the CSX tracks to walk to the Norfolk Southern tracks where the gates are still up. We are still hearing a train warning of its approach to a crossing. At 3:25 the lights on the Norfolk Southern gates start to flash and the gates start to lover. t 3:31a. At 3.40 we see the lights of the Norfolk Southern train coming toward Berry Road. As the engineer warns of the approach to Berry Road. At 3:48 the Norfolk Southern engineer gives you a horn salute. At 3:50 Norfolk Southern train #22B starts across Berry Road. A black, yellow, and orange BNSF unit powers the train. The second unit had a BNSF Red Santa Fe War Bonnet paint scheme with the Santa Fe name on the front of the nose rather than BNSF on the nose. At 4:26 Norfolk Southern #22B passes Berry Road.
4:07 We hear another warning horn, and you turn to the CSX tracks. At 4:08 CSX train #I009 starts across Berry Road. You walk toward the CSX tracks and turn east so that we can both the westbound CSX train #I009 and Norfolk Southern train #I009 going east. At 5:08 CSX train #I009 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on the end of CSX train #I009 as it continues west through the snoke and haze. At 5:41 CSX train #I009 passes Lake Road. At 6:33 you zoom in on the CSX Milepost 44.8 signals and we see that there is a green signal for an eastbound CSX train that will be coming on track #2 at some time in the future.
7:42 You start to look west on the CSX tracks, and you notice the headlight of the eastbound CSX train that has the green light on the Milepost 44.8 signals that we were just looking at. At 7:22 you zoom in on the oncoming train which is approaching Lake Road. The lead engine is barely visible through the smoke and haze. At 7:27 we hear CSX train #M634 warning of its approach to Lake Road. At 8:19 CSX train #M634 starts across Lake Road. At 8:37 CSX train #M634 gives us its first horn blast of its approach to Berry Road as the gates we are standing near comes down to block part of our view of the approaching train. At 8:53 CSX train #M634 starts across Berry Road. At 9:46 a mid-train appears in the train. At 10:53 CSX train #M634 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on CSX train #M634 as it continues to Selkirk, New York. At 11:37 CSX train #M634 passes the Milepost 44.8 signals.
12:41 We are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 27 June 2023. CSX train #I158 is approaching Berry Road. At 12:48 CSX train #I158 gives us its first horn warning that it is approaching Berry Road. At 13:00 CSX train #I158 starts across Berry Road. AT 14:11 a mid-train DPU appears in front of us. At 14:41 CSX train #I158 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on the end of CSX train #I158 as it continues east. At 15:18 CSX train #I158 CSX train passes the CSX Milepost 44.8 signals. At 15:38 the lights on the Milepost 44.8 signals go dark.
15.50 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York on 29 June 2023. In the distance to the east, we see CSX train #B778 as it approaches Middle Road. You zoom in on the train and we see that it is about to pass under the Control Point 37 signal bridge. At 16:20 CSX train #Myy8 blows its horn to warn us know that it is coming close to Middle Road. At 16:34 CSX train #B778 starts across Middle Road. At 17:49 CSX train #B778 passes Middle Road. We watch the train as it disappears around the curve that takes it to the east end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. According to the CSX Train Symbol list dated 21 June 2023 found at Railroadfanwiki.com, CSX train #B778 is an as needed train of empty ethanol tank cars that originates at Sewaren, New Jersey and terminates at Blue Island, Illinois where the empty ethanol tank cars are turned over to the Iowa Interstate Railroad. The Iowa Interstate takes the empty ethanol tank cars to an ethanol plant on the Iowa Interstate Railroad. There is a CSX train #B792 that originates in Albany, New York with empty ethanol tank cars that terminates at the Union Pacific’s (former Chicago & North Western Railroad) Proviso Yard in Melrose Park, Illinois. The CSX receives this empty ethanol tank car train from the CPK Railroad at Albany, New York. The Union Pacific takes this train to an ethanol plant in Iowa located along its line.
19:17 We are on the Center Road bridge over the CSX tracks in Sheridan, New York on 25 October 2022. We are looking to the east at CSX train #M562 which is approaching the the CSX signals at Milepost 35.1 east of Center Road. You turned the camara away from CSX train #M562. As a result, we were not able to see the lights on the Milepost 35.1signals turn on nor when the train passes the signals. At 20:58 CSX train #M562 started to pass under Center Road bridge. You started to walk across the Center Road bridge to view the train’s passage west.

Thank you for capturing the triple meet at Berry Road on 28 June 2023. That portion of the video was very enjoyable to watch. It was nice to see the fall foliage in the final train video from 25 October 2022 that you added to the June 2023 segments on this video. It’s been said that were a nuclear holocaust to occur, the only things remaining would be cockroaches, Fender Telecasters, and EMD SD40-2’s … and the Telecasters would still be in tune and the SD40-2’s would still be running perfectly and pulling hard. 😊

a 1 grey day!! and to be fair trains, that 7 track crossing has an unusually long distance between the trip point and the gates! it's at least a third to twice as long as most crossings so if there's enough space and time?
It's like over half a mile
@@WideWorldofTrains and it takes like 30 to 40 seconds plus for the train to reach the gates (it's also slowing to mainline yard speed as it comes in) so plenty of time between gate trip and train to get across if you're sure there's not one around the bend you can't see!

If you could count the rails and multiply by 30 you'd have the tonnage of just the rails then if you knew the weight of all the cars and added that then you'd know why it's noisy.
