    Here we go for another Trainz remake, in this case, the scene in Super 8 where a US Air Force train heading from Area 51 to a secure location in Ohio collides with a pickup truck and somehow derails like it's in Microsoft Train Simulator. In the Portal 2 interactive trailer, the manifest on the wall of the car says that the train on its 7th stop picked up 10 reefer cars of frozen meat.

    I do kind of wish that the movie had at least one or two scenes showing the train picking up it's cargo at a freight yard, because then that way it's not so much as the train's appearance is because of plot convenience, but rather those two extra scenes would act as more of an explanation of why the train was traveling through Lillian, OH, but man that wreck scene was beautiful, yet highly unrealistic

    • @acoproductions6877
      @acoproductions6877 2 года назад +4

      I don't think it wasn't realistic because all that Kentic energy would of kept it going and crushed that car but it's fine , but the explosions are a little to much

      @@acoproductions6877 Indeed. In very VERY rare cases, a car can derail a train, but nowhere near this dramatic. When I first saw the wreck scene, I thought I was watching a train wreck from Microsoft Train Simulator

    Even though it doesnt make any legit sense how a shunter locomotive could pull almost about 100 + freight cars and also the crash is unrealistic, every movies that have trains something the crash doesnt as realistic
    My thought the train is pull by a big locomotive like SD70ACE
    It hit the pickup truck and drag about couple meters a long to way there a set of switchs the truck hits the switch and the train is derail, the locomotives did derail but the locomotives will remains upright but the freights cars that light weight derails

      Reminds me of the accident that occured on NS's ex NYC Chicago Line a year or two ago, where an intermodal train of containers and trailers bound for Chicago struck a stalled abandoned vehicle at a grade crossing and jumped the tracks due to the car getting lodged in the crossover switch. Check out Delay In Block Productions' video on the aftermath of the incident for more info:
      ruclips.net/video/NlUf-lmoWHo/видео.html
      Also there's a correction I'd like to make: the train was actually made up of 83 cars, as shown on a manifest paper in the Portal 2 interactive trailer and as stated by the wiki

    A mostly accurate Super 8 train crash. For some reason in the trailer it has a K5H and the horn in the movie is a K5LA and RS3L which is quite inaccurate for a Baldwin Lima Hamilton Corporation S12. Also RIP USAF BLHC S12 #1912. Thats not possible for a car to crash a train catastrophically like the crash shown in Super 8. Basis is USAF #1864 which was scrapped in 2015.

      It wasn’t the car who derail the train it was the aliens because in the movie you see the whole wreck the aliens were moving to much that the train made a whole wreck and that truck driver had a map on what time to make the train derail but that wouldn’t make sense if a car derailed a train.

      Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia, since whoever wrote that had to be blind. In the trailer, the boxcar that the alien is kept in clearly has the USAF logo on it. As for the consist we see in the movie, it really is mostly freight cars. The only sign that there was any kind of passenger car on the train was the Interactive Trailer featured in Portal 2, where the nameless character we play as is riding in what could be a troop car, though I'd bet it's a converted boxcar(that way, it'd blend in with the rest of the cars).

If you payed attention in history class, around the time Super 8 takes place, the US Was suffering from a massive gas shortage, considering the train was likely being dragged about 50/60 miles from a conrail interchange to whatever government facility, it makes more sense for the USAF to just send out whatever locomotive wasn't doing anything terribly productive at that moment
