I've been running the Air Manager 4 beta with MSFS for the last couple of months and it's been great. Just bought the full release version when it was released. I absolutely love it. There's no better way to control a plane without a mouse and keyboard. Can't wait for more instruments and panels to be MSFS compatible.
how did you install the plugin. i'm having issues where the Plugin installer is putting the bridge files in C: but my fs2020 installation is on a separate drive (due to it being so big). help would be greatly appreciated.
@@091263david The Air Manager plugin installs itself as a Windows service. It doesn't need to be in the same location as MSFS. Its location doesn't matter at all. It could be on any drive connected to your system. As long as Windows sees it, it will load it up at boot time. Now that said, I've got an issue with the plugin. It will work, but if I shut down the sim and reload it, it no longer starts up. I either have to manually go and restart the service, or take the easier and quicker route of just doing a quick reinstall of the plugin from an icon I keep on my desktop. It takes less than 30 seconds and can be run at any time with the sim running or not.
There's gonna be a new plugin soon. This one was just a temporary one, due to limitations of FS2020. But they have made some updates so now we can make a better one.
@@ralphrietveld Good to hear. This one works well, as long as you know how to work around it when it stops working. Nonetheless, a proper working version would be a nice improvement. Otherwise, AM4 works a treat with MSFS. I wouldn't even dream of flying without it now.

I got this far, but I still can't use the dials for scrolling... it just acts like a click button most of the time, occasionally letting me scroll the dial, but if I can scroll a dial, the lag is HORRIFIC (like a solid 5 second delay). Thank you for you great instruction videos. I started today on trying to put the two G1000 panels for the C-172 (FS 2020). I went through the processes and was able to get the blank panel up as default. When I went to instruments I was unable to locate the G1000 instruments. All that is shown on the Air Management page is 6 instruments for the Beechcraft B58. Any advice? Thank you.

Hi all, i am using C172 Skyhawk (G1000) on MSFS and I created the instrument panel with Garmin G1000 overlay and also tried Garmin G1000 NXi Overlay on the Air Manager, along with Cessna 172 Flaps Lever. When putting it on live, along with MSFS running, the input I made on G1000 overlay on the Air Manager instrument panel, is not making any changes on MSFS PFD, flaps input on the Air manager overlay is also having the same effect, but when I tried flaps in the MSFS, it is making changes on the Flaps Lever on the Air Manager instrument panel I made. I tried the resolutions given on the website, the log file seems good and I even turned off the firewall. I have one system and two monitors connected, so they are in the same network. please help
Yes it is compatible. But you probably did not install the plugin for X-Plane 12. You can either do this manually with the current plugin installer by selecting manual installation, or wait for the updated plugin installer which will be available soon.

You might add the steps to get these panels onto X-plane. I am having a problem getting a newly designed panel onto an aircraft in X-plane. Do you have to work air manager before you start X=plane? Sometimes the panel doesn't show up on my smaller 4th monitor.
Hmm what are the limitations of the Demo? At the moment I would just need to display some Gauges (Sixpack), why isn‘t there a light version or a demo for Android … I‘m not sure if my old Tablet would work so I would like to try before I buy :/
In MSFS 2020 I wanted a way to view panels easily whilst a guest uses VR. This is so I can provide advice based on the panels without being in VR with them. I found the ALT GR click function to show panels but the panels don't update properly when VR is active. Will Air Manager 4 help me in this regard to setup panels a person can see outside of VR whilst a 2nd user is in VR or is Air Manager 4 a bit overkill for this simple ambition. Thanks,
@@ralphrietveld Hi, yes I think it is a msfs limitation, it must view VR as being too much overhead to then go rendering the displays elsewhere on 2nd screens whilst vr is running. Perhaps it just isn't a scenario that many people have enquired about, afterall if you are playing alone and in VR you are not going to be caring much about panels or displays. I am effectively trying to create a '2 player' situation where both can see. I have read about another tool that lets you share flightdeck controls but that requires a 2nd computer configured in the same way so they can communicate with each other and it seemed a bit overkill, I only wanted to be able to see main instrumentation even if it were not rendered in a realistic or faithful way, altitude, heading, speed, rate of climb/descent etc. If you work with somebody in VR at the moment, you have to ask them to look at the speed dials so as an observer you can also see 🤣
@Sim Innovations, I want to try Air Manager before buying it. I've logged into the account that I've created, but the Activation screen is frozen on the "Select Active Licenses" screen. Which ar the free panels available for the Air Manager Demo version; I can't find any?
This is the first I've heard of this product. I'm confused however as to its purpose. Why would I want to use this over the cockpit view that's already available in MSFS?
This is for home cockpit setups with multiple monitors. I am going to be using this to put the instruments on touch screen monitors and have the instruments run that way.
@@Zeleathos that brings up an interesting question in my mind. I don't have a touch screen, but if someone does have a touch screen, is MSFS touch screen compatible, as-is out of the box? I'm figuring it's not since you said you use this air manager thing for a separate touch screen cockpit.

Why is the iPad version so limited and toy-like when the Windows version seems to have a lot of obvious simple things that are not in the ipad version. For example, why can’t I just see all parameters that are in the XPlane system, and just see one of them as a dial, or a number, with a scale of my choice? I am trying to learn to fly helicopters on XPlane and the iPad version is nearly useless for this. I just wanted to be able to pick the core engine parameters for my current helicopters, and map them to dials on a screen, even if they are super basic lines-on-circles.
Because that's not the purpose of the iPad app. It is made to quickly put a panel together and fly. Also, a lot of the desktop functionality would make no sense on the iPad. You would have to have a code editor on the iPad for example. And you wouldn't be able to modify the resources (images and such) because Apple does not let you.
@@ralphrietveld A simple generic widget that has a fixed text output format, and all you can do is select which parameter and how big a font to display it, would let users solve the problem of "there's no gauge for X, and no way to add it". If that could also be shown in a linear or circular form as a 0-100% of some user-entered range, NO CODING would be necessary on the Ipad. It's even funny that on the desktop app, you have to code, to just add a torque number, or an APU parameter, that there is no gauge for in the library.
