So proud of you bro. 4:05 is still crazy for all you’ve been through the past couple years. You’re breaking 4 next season 💯. Keep grinding! Love the vids.
What makes this race so incredible is these guys had no season, right? So they ran this fast from just training. Normally you have to race to get “sharp”. For that reason, this really is an amazing achievement.
I wish someone leaked the race location to me before I drove to different high schools in Sacramento and eventually finding it with 20 minutes to spare
I'm impressed with the collaboration, coordination, and camaraderie around this event. I won several High School State Championships. PR's are always what matters most, and what I remember best. Congratulations to each athlete.
According to LetsRun, Jim Ryun, Lukas Verzbicas, and Michael Slagowski ran sub 4 in an all high school field as well. Not that that makes it any less impressive though, congrats to Leo and all of you!
Thank you so much for coming back to running, Easton. It means a lot to me that you didn't give up despite having probably the biggest setback ever and it motivates me to work harder everyday knowing that you were able to make such a crazy comeback. I know for sure that you're going to get that sub 4 eventually!
As on of the MileSplit photographers, I had a front row seat for this incredible gathering of talent. I've seen some incredible performances, but this one will go down in the history books and I am so glad I was able to witness this in person. Congratulations Easton and to all the competitors who made this so incredible. I'm not your target demographic, but enjoyed the vlog as well. All the best in the future.
Jim Ryun ran a 3:58.3 at the 1965 Kansas high school state meet, so this wasn’t the first sub 4 from a high school only field. But a great race from you and Leo nonetheless!
I went and got a pic with you. I found out about it cause I happened to go to oak ridge that morning to pace someone for a fast 5k and mile split was setting up. So much fun and it was crazy when Leo just got sub 4. Congrats Easton on the amazing new Pr!
This is absolutely incredible! It was a fun race to watch and great to see the friendship and brotherhood among the runners! And Easton, best of luck at BYU....I’m sure Eyestone is excited to have you run for him!
Love your vlogs! I’m so glad XC & Track runner’s can have content like this! Great job to everyone. I’m proud to say that Leo who represents my state AZ🌵 broke 4!
Man I know that feeling after a race where you tell yourself that you could have gone faster. But it's way easier to say you could have afterwards than to actually go faster in the moment. 405 is insane, you should be so proud of yourself.
This is crazy in to watch! Keep being you and keep pushing. You’re already making history, as well as being able to compete against other people making history and it’s awesome to see. Also you should do more live streams whenever you have time and maybe even make merch and stuff :)
First, I Love that blue steel is still a relevant phrase haha. second, I dont know if alot of people know how impressive this is. awesome job! I cannot wait to see how your journey progresses. also side note, a person that went to my HS (now he coaches there!) ran against Alan Webb for the Olympic team and Alan beat him by .01 seconds or something crazy. I remember it , it was a sad day haha.
hey easton!! love your vlogs and they actually inspired me to get back into cross country and competitive running in hs, but any advice for runners struggling with a lack of self-confidence especially during races??
If you are on the cusp of sub 4, every fraction counts. The rabbit screwed up the pace on lap two, and the runners screwed up the train by having the gaps too big. If they had been closer together the drafting effect would have saved them enough energy to go maybe a second faster.
Do you know why nico didn’t come? I feel like he could have not only easily run sub 4 but push the others to run faster like Cole sprout. I mean the dude ran 4:10 in a workout
Still a while to go. Last year the best runner at age 18 was 3.52, 28, already at 16 Same guy ran at 3.56.29. That guy is only 1 year older than the oldest guys here. They got some competition. (3.28.68 at 1500 at 19)
I dont know if it is just the way it looked on the camera, but when you came up on Leo’s shoulder at around 650 to go and the pace setter started coming back on the turn did it badly effect your race? It looked like it caused you to slow down a ton and I was curious.
Wow, I wish I watched more of your vlogs ngl
Now we are talking
This man is a king 👑
leo’s top secret is his leg hair
So fitting that this video is 16 minutes and 9 seconds, like 1609 meters... AKA A FULL MILE 🤩
Nice race by the way, Easton & crew!
"I wanna go through 800 at 1:58"
Us: you won't believe this...
👀👀
Just casually running my 400m pr for 4 laps in a row
Such a great race! You killed it! It looked like the pacer kinda cut you off going into the last lap.
Ya for sure, but not a big deal
So proud of you bro. 4:05 is still crazy for all you’ve been through the past couple years. You’re breaking 4 next season 💯. Keep grinding! Love the vids.
Leo sounding and looking like Trahan 2.0
That was a crazy race. Nice job Easton.
I know right!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!

I think there were collegiate runners in all 3 of those
Jim Ryun had one at his State meet
Josh Ladd yeah I only looked at the first time they went under 4 my bad
Hunter Groffin Ryan ran a 3:58 at the KS state meet his senior year - an all high school meet.
Hunter Groffin I know for a fact Michael Slagowski’s was only hs and basically solo the last 800
Thank you so much for coming back to running, Easton. Thank you!! I certainly hope so.
Boyden: I probably want to go through the 800 around 1:58
Pacers: Let me stop you right there

Great run Easton, don’t be down on yourself because you were part of a field of H.S champions! You are a champion!!!

It takes dedication to keep training through all this, you guys are unbelievable!
Congrats on training hard in these difficult times - and especially to Leo for making history - used to be one of those boys running the mile

Great job to all you guys! Especially Leo. Will you guys go after another attempt is the question?
Loved the vlog, and the race was awesome good stuff.

Hey Easton, can you do an update video on your IT band surgery and how you're feeling now and if you would recommend it?
So glad we had this amazing event vlogged 🙏
Do you plan on doing another race/time trial later or was this the final one?
Great race Easton!!

Hey Easton! Great race👌 I was wondering how important mileage is to increase my mile time
Boyden ran a really selfless race. Props to him for taking over and getting them back on pace!
That race was insane!!!!!!!!!!! Good job everyone!!!!!!!!!! Stay safe everyone!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know why nico didn’t come? I feel like he could have not only easily run sub 4 but push the others to run faster like Cole sprout. I mean the dude ran 4:10 in a workout

Heads up Easton, no hate but you misspelled the second slide to the start.

excellent question
i’ve met Easton, Mark, Cole and Thomas so sick to watch them all get so close!
Never been more excited to watch the 2020 class kill it in college. 2021 NCAA natty’s isn’t ready

didnt Jim ryun do it in his state meet no hate just wondering
Matt is definitely right about that. The Toyota Rav 4 definitely is a bae magnet 😂
How come you used the xc spikes instead of the vics?
why'd you guys not get nico young in there???
didn't easton kinda get boxed in by the pacers near the end of the third lap?
That was one of the best races in high school history
Leo should intro every video.😂
Where is Nico? Great race!
Totally awesome!
All the boys did great
Didn’t Jim Ryun do this in an all high school field??
Super Nice!
