What a great video.. so much of "I didn't know that!" For me. Beautiful country is right.. the old, the new the vibrancy . And Craig, what a wonderful way to bring your father with you.. you done good. I won't say I needed a tissue but suffice it to say, glad I had long sleeves on! I wish I could get from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean so quickly!! Thanks for my Thursday night entertainment Craig and Lu!
Lucky to have toured Costa Rica twice, and can't wait until the next time. Tamarindo is my favourite beach town there. I’m from Scotland so did not find prices that expensive. If I compare to some other places I have been it is actually very affordable. As for the bill in restaurants, I actually like them putting the expected tip (service charge) there. I can just use my card or cash and leave without worrying did I leave enough or not. This is a great area. Sit in a beach bar near dusk, the howlers will be walking through the trees above your heads, (or after dawn the other way). Go to Jaco before or after, and you will really know why this is my favourite (though for other great things near Jaco), I will also go there.
Thank you for your comment, your right it’s a matter of perspective as to cost. In the past 2 years we have travelled to 8 different countries on 3 continents and this was the most expensive place we have been to, Australia was close. Tamarindo does have some beauty, no doubt. Glad you found your place !! Thanks for watching
Great video. Thanks for the tips. I guess the bottom line is that travel has become expensive everywhere. I had heard Costa Rica was a budget place to go but that was probably years ago. Enjoy the rest of your travels down there!
We could t believe the costs in CR. We went to 4 places there and WOW. We feel for the local’s because we can’t imagine how the daily living costs affect them. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Have a great week !
Well I can add after 20 years of hearing this would happen, the backside bypass road to Tamarindo is finished being paved. And not the usual fake asphalt pavement but real asphalt and it is nice. Other than that after 5 years full time I’m considering going elsewhere. The prices, import taxes and most roads are terrible and at some point you have to decide if it is worth it or not. The dollar is not worth much here in the past year and now it is roughly 500C to one dollar. 5 years ago 700C to one dollar.
so - cheap to get there - not so cheap to stay there. I think there is probably also a premium cost as you are likely in the nicer area - as you say, big ex-pat community, so I think that that could be a little "inflationary". I know a guy that lived there, and it was fairly cheap, but they were off the beaten path.
LOL. Haha I was thinking about that also. I had to re edit a few times to keep from being to neg. It really was a nice place but for us 2 weeks was too long
Hey Craig really enjoyed this video, you do a great job doing a travel review. Looking forward to your next one, cheers and be safe...Dave
Thanks Dave !! Hope MX is treating you both well !!!
You two really do a great job showcasing the area you visit. Fantastic job, as always.
Thanks Buddy !
super informative. Thanks Craig.
Thanks for watching !!!
Cheers
Hey great video, quite the experience. You would never know if you didn't go. But Costa Rica is still a beautiful country. Travel safe.
For sure. You’re right, it’s such a beautiful place that’s for sure !!!
That’s why we are testing multiple places out to see what feels right.
Thanks.
@@SHHHMotoTravels Good plan 💯 👍
The beaches look really nice 😎👍
Yes they were ! Great place for a beach holiday.

We heard the same thing but 2024 ! Wow. Really expensive here. Make Canada look like the budget place to travel to.
Cheers
Great video guys ! I love the fact you share the history, the good, the bad and the ugly. I couldn’t avoid to notice the Caipirinhas 😅!
Love those drinks !!! Was surly to see them here !!!
Good video. We will pass on CR now. Gringo pricing out of control. Keep running us off CR and the tide will turn.

Great information. I enjoy the information...the quick transformations are a bit distracting.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.
Have a good week.

Well we have been to 3 others areas now in CR and we’ll show $$ in each of those too !!
You’re right ! Cheap to get here but then …..
I'd love to visit Mexico but, we are so far away. This island continent has plenty to see though.
You are so right !!!! Up the middle !
The good, the bad, and the ugly😂😂. Just kidding. Beautiful beaches.

So a parfait would break the bank
Hahaha. Yup !
As a experience d gringo...watch your wallet...literally!!!
You are right !
Thanks for the comment, good for others to note that if they plan to go there.
Third world country, first world prices! 😅
You have a point there !!!
Capitalizing on tourism any way they can
