Wow Armin - I heard this live-music with Christine Lakeland first time. Ans while I did it, I felt same as you: There is the soul and the ghoast of JJ Cale in background ! I'm an old fan of him since time in university around 1970 ... have many albums and very often enjoy his music. To I have albums of Christine from that years, as she tryed to find her own way beside JJ. But NOW with this song she is sitting on his chair!!!! >>> Soon, 2022 July 26th is his 9th year when he passed off R.I.P. JJ Cale

Amazing! Ms. Lakeland performs this song pretty much as JJ Cale would have, I think - solid, insistent groove, vocal in her own voice which I think is beautiful, not a lot of flash, but done with skill, artistry, and love!

I guess you know her 1992 album "Reckoning". For those unfimiliar with that release, look it up as soon as possible! Performers, amongst others, J.J. Cale, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Debra Dobkin, Phil Jones, Jim Keltner and James Hutchinson.
I guess it's a Variax acoustic 700.
JJ probably “reworked” whatever he played!!! That’s one of many reasons he was so special....
