True love was written all over the face of Christene Lakeland. You could tell she adored her husband JJ. She was just radiant around him, and JJ lives on in her heart and music. Beautiful. Vaughn
Hey thanks for your comment. I didn't know that the girl (Christine Lakeland) was JJ's wife - but she was so obviously with him - yeah that was so gorgeous to see. :)
This is the coolest rocker who ever lived and a genius songwriter who made so many rockers famous. He didn't want the spotlight but he sure gave it to so many others! RIP JJ!
It's truly a delight to watch this video, over and over again, just to see Christine and the looks she gives JJ, what a beautiful and happy lady and what a lucky man.
I beleive so! And in love too, like each of us should be, and this world would run much better. Merci Christine, oui c'est tout une belle expression qui nous est offert pour tout ceux qui aime la musique, de votre homme JJ et votre accompagnement tout autant splendide. Longue vie à vous Christine, Beautiful et encore merci, Daniel
I saw JJ at a club in Boston, he played for almost 3 hours. Then he stayed there and talked to everyone that wanted to talk to him, he was so nice. Rest In Peace JJ, you made a difference
Never got to meet JJ, but I truely respect that he was a humble musician rather than an artist. He was just happy that people came to hear his music. I am envious.
He's one of the only 3 people I've ever dreamt of seeing live. Another was Bowie. Never got to see either. :'( But I got to see Jango Edwards - at least one third of my triad of dreams has been locked into my heart forever. J.J. Cale, I'll keep kickin' him down, just like you.
John Weldon "J. J." Cale (December 5, 1938 - July 26, 2013) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he deliberately avoided the limelight his influence as a musical artist has been widely acknowledged by figures such as Neil Young and Eric Clapton.
The love those two had for each other is palpable in this video. My condolences to Christine for her loss. I've been humming JJ's songs for a week now. We lost a great musician last week, but she lost the love of her life.

@@robertm2000 Check out Christine's indie releases FIREWORKS, RECKONING and more recently TURN TO ME. Just avoid the LIVE album with her band THE CODE from a winery. Sounds like a contractual obligation that never shoulda been released due to sound quality. I remain confused as to why more young bands and artists haven't recorded her material. Bonnie Raitt, especially, has issued some albums with weak material and I can think of a dozen songs Christine has written and cut with The Code and with Cale under various names that coulda connected. Jazz singers especially should check out her songwriting on these albums for fresh sounding material that has that intimate quality associated with true artists like Cale... One of the greatest, yet most unknown American artists of the last 50 years. I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve introduced to JJ who have fallen completely in love with him…
I bought “Naturally” when it first came out in ‘72 and fell in love with his music. I have every album he ever did. It’s fantastic to see a video of his studio work.
Something in water? OKLAHOMA has sourced so many great musicians. JJ Cale, Leon Russell, Vince Gill and Garth Brooks notably with others I apologize for not mentioning. Missing you JJ Cale, God Bless and thanks for all the great tunes, riffs and making it all look so easy.
...see the love they share through a song (nice one by the way), music, in their eyes; really magic and trully nice, as nice as they are, despite JJ left us, what a pitty... I hope it's not too hard for Christine (Lakeland) Cale, may God help her to keep on her way, in memory of her missed man, so sad.

J J Cale & Eric Clapton = awesome musicians 🎶,
Eric Clapton turned me on to J J Cale's music
🥰❤️
I love the interaction between JJ and his wife in this video. Music and sweet love!
She's been his muse for decades...it probably made him so sensitive and melodic and totally mellow.
But Magnolia is the best he ever had.
She's a babe, beautiful woman
BC Blue , I wish they had punched a few kids.
Mater of fact they did! I once saw JJ Cale live, and the person who appeared with him was his son!
God Christine loved him; you see it in every video going back 30 some years. Lucky guy. Lucky girl.
Certainly was a lucky guy.
Yes, I noticed that too. Check out his live versions of Boiling Pot & Sensitive Kind and it really shows.
Christine Lakeland was, I suspect, VERY much a part of all JJ Cale's music! And Ms. Lakeland was a gifted singer-songwriter herself!
Not lucky. Blessed.
