Great job Carl. Over the last year, I have seen just about every reaction video made of this performance by young Emma Kok , including by some very knowledgeable people whose business is music and vocal performances. Your analysis here pretty much affirms their assessment that Emma Kok is a most extraordinary young artist whose talent and ability extends far beyond her years. She is, in fact, phenomenal.
Emma is 16 now, and, believe it or not, has only gotten better over the last year. She has been touring the world with Maestro Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra while continuing to hone and refine her skills. Everywhere her performances have been acknowledged with standing ovations from enthusiastic audiences. She has become a major draw, and the heart of Maestro Rieu's shows.
Meantime, on breaks in her touring schedule this past year, she has rendered a number of remarkable performances, all of which can be found on RUclips if you care to watch them. Given your obvious appreciation of moving vocal performances, you would not be wasting your time.
Suffice to say, I believe, we are witnessing in Emma the ascendance of a generational talent. If she is this good at age 15, it is almost unimaginable how good she will be in 5 or 10 years. This is going to be interesting to say the least.
    Take care. All the best.

Without getting too serious, you talk about Emma’s resilience. In a world where I believe young people are not naturally learning about empathy and resilience, Emma is indeed a beacon of hope.

I enjoyed your reaction to Emma enormously. Whilst you didn’t show the introduction, you clearly listened to it and stepped out and did a little research. It adds so much that you made the effort to do that and it shows respect to have done so. Thank you. I look forward to hearing your reactions to other of Emma’s performances, Dancing OnThe Stars, her Disney In Concert Medley and Father (the 2024 version) all are extraordinary.
    Well done, really well done.

Wow, you really did your homework, thanks for checking out Emma Kok! One thing though, Emma cannot eat food at all, she has said in interviews that during family dinner she may nibble a bit on a rice cake just so she can taste something and be part of the family meal, but that's about it.

from what I understand, she does not speak French. She learned the song phonetically there is a more recent song again with Andre called dancing on the stars. This one is sung in English. She has been touring the world with Andre. She is now 16. She created a foundation called gastrostars.. Thank you again for another reaction and analysis.

Very good reaction to Emma Kok who is 22 hours a day connected via a tube with a feeding machine. Also listen to 'Dancing on the stars' on the same venue, a year later. She also sung 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen at the 'Max Kerst concert'. And very recent she did a Disney Medley at Musical Awards: The Kick Off 2024. Watch and listen to this performances and you will hear she is even better now.

One year later, on the same stage at 16, she sings an original song "Dancing on the stars" that --> ruclips.net/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/видео.html --> if you can believe it is even more astonishing than Volia. Then at the same time, she recorded a promo for a disney concert that will be held on Jan 2025 here -> ruclips.net/video/rhALa-baZGA/видео.html that demonstrates her amazing range of singing styles. Also outrageously good.

Emma chooses songs that she has an emotional connection to. She doesn't speak French, she had a French tutor teach her the lyrics phonetically.
VOILA, by Barbara Pravi from France, was written for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 (it placed second). Pravi is a victim of domestic abuse, the song is about vulnerability, strength, and self-acceptance, saying "This is me. Here I am. Accept me for what I am, voilà.". Here's a link to the same performance with English subtitles: ruclips.net/video/telyzClalVs/видео.html

Carl, one minor negative that I couldn't fit in to my comment, below, your microphone does unhelpful things to the sound level of the recording that you're viewing, in that it changes the volume level, and it's a bit disconcerting to have the volume drop while you're speaking if it's playing as well, it may be better to pause the playback if you're going to comment, or another option will be have your microphone open all the time, to avoid the sudden chops.

Where to start? You're new to Emma, she has very much impressed you, and you have a very good understanding of her vocal techniques, and the quality of her singing, and her overall talent, which is sublime.
I have a huge area to play with, but the limit is the RUclips limit on comment length, and while Voila was deemed by many, including me, as perfection when it was first released, her new most recent song has effectively redefined perfection, she has massively raised the bar that defines perfection, and then given us a gold medal performance that effortlessly cleared that bar with room to spare.
The song is not new, it was penned 20 years ago, before Emma was born, but it's never been performed until now, that said, the writer has written two other songs in recent years for Emma,
LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly
    ruclips.net/video/jAsjpnpGY2M/видео.html
    Strijder
    ruclips.net/video/rL0GLdnWEKk/видео.html
Her new song with Andre, Dancing on the stars, was released just over a month ago, and the video already has nearly 7 Million views on just the RUclips channel.
If you don't watch any of the other videos I'm listing, you NEED to see this one. Andre introduces her, and then Emma also speaks briefly, and beautifully in her third language, and captivates the audience before she sings a note, a wonderful extra that shows her versatility as so much more than just a performer.
    ruclips.net/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/видео.html
Voila was Emma's first ever appearance with Andre, on his stage, in his home town of Maastricht, each summer, there are a number of performances during the month of July, both 2023 and 2024 have seen 12 concerts, each to capacity audiences of 12,500 people.
12 months on, Andre presented her a Diamond disc that confirms 50 Million streams of Voila since the original release, it's massively more than that when other social media sites are added, and the RUclips figure is now in excess of 68 Million views.
While Emma had significant stage experience, Voila was her first appearance with Andre, and the first ever performance of the new version of the song, Emma had learned it (phonetically, it was the French entry to Eurovision 2021, sung by Barbara Pravi) because the words so express her life experience, she was born with Gastroparesis, to keep her alive, she was put on tube feeding at 9 MONTHS, for 22 hours a day, so she's never had the experience of eating normally, she can only eat very small pieces of rice cracker, with slivers of other foods on them to let her experience the flavours, so effectively, she cannot share in any of the normal experience of meals with other family members, or close friends, and to make it worse, as the medical profession struggled to diagnose her, they didn't fully diagnose her till she was 10, during those intervening years, things like her gag reflex was damaged, so she can't vomit, which is a serious issue for her condition, as her stomach doesn't properly process and pass food through, and vomiting would be a regular issue for most sufferers of this disease.
In addition, her growth was significantly delayed, even now, at 16, she's still only 1 Mtr 50, and weighs around 50 Kg, so still tiny, and as a result, her stamina is significantly reduced compared to most, she struggles to climb more than 2 flights of stairs, even longer walking such as through a large airport is a challenge, made worse by carrying 2 feeding pumps in a shoulder bag or similar for 22 hours a day, the equivalent of a boat anchor, but she absolutely refuses to allow her disease to define her, and is determined to live as normal a life as possible, but on a bad day, she does sometimes resort to using a wheelchair.
Her first ever appearance in a show, during Covid, so no audience, was in 2020, she was 12 at the time, the concert was arranged by her brother, Enzo, and among other things, she sang a powerful version of 'Opportunity',
    ruclips.net/video/oMyqCs6zZP4/видео.html
I love the way she ends it with a spoken, 'I guarantee', and that beautiful smile that says she absolutely meant it, and at the same time knew she'd just nailed that performance, it happens a lot, that cute smile at the end of a significant performance, it was the same with Voila, she turned to Andre, arms wide, with a smile, no words, but it was clear what she meant, 'How was that?', and Andre's response said it all, one word, 'Fantastic', the embrace and bringing her back for more of the standing ovation, a wonderful moment.
Her next major appearance was the Voice Kids contest in 2021, which she won, and the video of that progression shows so clearly that even then, she had incredible presence on a stage, and was very much able to shine as a performer,
    ruclips.net/video/20gXikNRjbo/видео.html
A very different event, not a professional recording, but it is acceptably good, she performed with the Maastricht Star Male Voice choir, singing 'Hallelujah',
    ruclips.net/video/o3uskk3objU/видео.html
She's also sung this last Christmas, part of a Christmas concert on Dutch TV, with a full orchestra, and it's another indication of how she's developed as a performer,
    ruclips.net/video/9qVHQuPQud0/видео.html ,
Earlier this year, in May, Emma was honoured to be asked to perform as part of the annual commemoration events in May of this year to remember the huge number of lives lost liberating the Netherlands from German occupation in WWII, she sang at several events across the country, the most prominent being a duet with April Darby, singing ' When you believe',
    ruclips.net/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/видео.html
This concert was in Amsterdam, in the presence of the Dutch Royal family, and a significant number of high ranking politicians, and she absolutely nailed the performance.
For me, her strongest performance of this series was in the Hague, a Demi Levato cover of a technically challenging song, 'Father', and she absolutely excelled in this one, an incredible performance.
    ruclips.net/video/zXWBj7-edWU/видео.html
From the same concert, another cover, 'Hero',
    ruclips.net/video/rohP0V3ECRY/видео.html
From the same series of concerts, 'You raise me up',
    ruclips.net/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/видео.html
A beautiful home video recorded several years ago during Covid, A Disney film cover, 'Part Of Your World' - @halle (The little mermaid)
    ruclips.net/video/itxs-aNyRJY/видео.html
Another song that is special to Emma because of her health situation, a Miley Cyrus cover, 'The Climb', recorded for Tube feeding week.
    ruclips.net/video/dOhzlDEuCBg/видео.html
When I Get There - @PinkVideoVault, unaccompanied, a song about the passing of a very close friend, given Emma's own situation, so incredibly deep and moving, just incredible.
Translation of the note in Dutch,
Last night my dear friend Angela became a star!
I'm going to miss you incredibly much, but every time I look at the starry sky I know you're looking back
    ruclips.net/video/0nIpN86mw6E/видео.html
A very recent upload, a video of an upcoming Disney concert in Amsterdam next January, this preview from the awards show is stunning, her stage presence is incredible, and she absolutely dominates the place,
    ruclips.net/video/rhALa-baZGA/видео.html
I hope this gives you a feel for where Emma has come from, and more importantly, where she's going, there is no doubt that as long as her health situation doesn't worsen, she will be making bigger and better waves for a long time to come.
I will close with my normal appeal to everyone reading or listening to this channel, Emma deserves and needs as much support as possible, as her foundation works to help find better treatments, or even possibly a cure for this awful disease, her foundation is almost unique in terms of the work they are doing, there's been very little research into what is a devastating illness, the effects on the sufferers are huge, and her situation hasn't changed since that first appearance with Andre last July, she is still tied to her two external feeding pumps for 22 hours a day, and I know from recent social media posts, she finds that hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre.
Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl
Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure.
Please also be very careful if you post or respond to anything from Emma on social media, her increased visibility has resulted in significant numbers of bad actors creating fake accounts, and looking for money to fund 'special operations', or to get access to fan web sales or VIP event tickets on payment of a significant initial membership fee, they are ALL fake, the ONLY valid web site that supports Emma and others like her is the gastrostars site, and she NEVER makes private message appeals for donations or support, and NEVER sends private messages or similar asking you to make contact, or log on to an external site to claim the wonderful ticket you've won, they are all fake and fraudulent.
One of the main people in Gastrostars is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in treating gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day.
It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
