No. It can be used on any profile now. If the second profile is a consumer account, it may not have the feature rolled out to it yet, but you can force it by creating a workspace on the profile that has it and sharing the space with the account that does not have it. Once the account without the feature accesses the workspace, the feature should then become enabled for that profile. This is how I have activated it on at least three or four consumer accounts. Hope this helps.
Hello my question is after having more than one profile open can I close down one profile's set of windows (saving where i left off) while keeping the other profile open? Thanks for the video.
You can close down any of the individual windows just like you would if you were only using one profile. Closing one Window should not impact any other profiles you have open. The settings for each profile can be customised, and there is an option in Edge's Settings -> Start, home, and new tabs -> When Microsoft Edge starts... In this area, simply ensure that "Open tabs from the previous session" is selected and each profile should remember its previous sessions. I believe this is in fact the default selection, but you can always jump in there to confirm it is set up.
Each profile that you have set up will have it's own Sync settings. Just open the appropriate profile that you want to set up sync for and head to the settings via the ellipsis (...) menu. Alternatively, you can open edge://settings/profiles also. This will take you to your profile settings where you will have the option to select what items you wish to sync with that profile. This can include bookmarks, passwords etc. You can't have these different profiles mirror each other and stay in sync though and to be fair, if one is your work profile that you IT Admin could potentially access, I wouldn't want them to be.
Great question. For some reason, it isn't in the UI of Edge itself, but if you open one of your other profiles, you can right click on the taskbar icon for that profile and pin the shortcut to your taskbar or start menu from there.
I liked how simple it was You will not believe I used both edge and chrome due to not being able to add a new profile. However, the only thing I don't get is that the second profile also ask for a microsoft account for backup. Should I use the same one? or it will become a mess??
For backup purposes, Edge will require the use of a Microsoft Account (similar to Chrome using a Google Account). Edge won't allow you to use the same account on multiple profiles on the one device, so you would need to use a different one for the second profile. If your workplace uses Microsoft 365, you could use that address for the "Work" profile. As a separate thing though, if you are looking for a way to simply have two independent browsing sessions but sharing the same profile etc, you could maybe look into using Workspaces. I use this feature to allow me to basically sync my browsing session (all my open tabs etc) between computers. ruclips.net/video/jkowmKQS2eg/видео.htmlsi=AKIEp7QB4serpPkM
When you say merge profiles, what exactly are you trying to achieve? What data are you wanting to merge? Generally speaking, the purpose of using multiple profiles is to avoid data being merged between them.
Whilst you can't Import/Export everything from a Profile, you can move any favourites across manually via an export process. You can export your favourites from the profile that you want to move from by selecting the ellipsis menu and opening up your favourites panel. Then use the ellipsis menu there and there will be an option for you to export your favourites. This will export them to a file for you. You'll want to switch over to the profile that you want to import these favourites into and then use the same process but on the panel when you select the menu, you want to select the option for import favourites. Then simply select the file from your export and your favourites will be merged with the profile.
hey when I open 12 accounts at once on edge and continuously searches in all my 12 accounts with abs extension then my edge crashes even my pc work properly without lag but my browser starts to lag please tell me what was the reason behind this their was not gpu and processor related issue because if that so my pc also lags but in this case only my browser was lagging
Opening that many sessions of any modern browser is likely to result in your device running slower. This doesn't really have anything to do with your CPU or GPU (although your CPU would be getting a lot of use by doing this). The bigger issue here would likely be that you are running into limits in the amount of available RAM on your system. Once you start hitting this limit, all programs on your device are likely to run slower, especially if you are trying to toggle between these different browser sessions.
Hi, the edge newest addition of warkspaces, I can't use it on my second profile. Was the feature can only be used on one profile?

Is there way to sync fav URL shortcuts between work and personal profiles?
