The suit is battle damaged bro thats why the top isnt as blue as the bottom, the right are goes from burnt to light blue, while the left is completely burnt.

The reason why the upperpart of his suit is darker than his legs are brighter saturated blue is because he has been clearly blasted fighting really hard against something that has darkened the upper part of his suit

Even if you don't like the suit, at least Gunn is making bold choices and trying new things. When any other director would do a standard superhero pose that is as flattering as possible, GUNN shows the character is relatable despite his godlike power.

What if the super-suit lines are an auto adjustment feature? Once he finished suiting up, it became more form-fitting. Think Back to the Future 2 with Marty's self adjusting jacket or Spider-Man's suit in Homecoming.

I absolutely love the worn torn and baggy-ness of the suit. It makes it feel real, reminds me of the first two spiderman suits.
We need more in 2024 not the same grounded suit.. I mean not Snyder like, but something new! Something alien but also superhero type of suit but not intendes to be for a superhero. Maybe the cape could be the only part from earth in some way

I really like the blue color on his suit. It's a dark blue but not too dark like Cavill's. That's one of the reasons why I ranked Corensweat's suit slightly above Cavill's.
They clearly will be shooting outside soon; hopefully that means we get reveals for the rest of the cast as well.

I’ve watched about 8 suit breakdowns and this is the most balanced and detailed one. Keep it up.
I think it looks great. The lighter blue, the chest symbols nice and big. Love the red. I’m really hoping for the yellow crest on his cape though 🙏🏻. Can’t wait for this film!!

At first I had mixed reactions…I needed time to process it
But after continuing to look at it, it immediately took me back to exactly what I was feeling when I first listened to “Superman” by crash test dummies…
It might not necessarily be the most flattering or clean suit…but it’s about what it makes me feel. The context of the image. How he is putting his shoes on one at a time while sitting down like we all do.
How he is working, and alone. And sort of inwardly sad.
But he doesn’t show it all the time like Batman.
This feeling, that I didn’t feel as deeply as when I first did when I first listened to this song years ago, immediately made me fall in love all over again with Gunn’s vision.
Superman isn’t about being the strongest, most good looking, flying and breaking the sound barrier in the sky with his cape flapping.
Superman is everything this song states.
It’s his character.
His nature.
His nurture from Kent Farm.
It’s about suiting up and sort of not wanting to do it all the time. He can get tired.
In this photo, What if his parents just died? Then of course he’d be sad, and not want to immediately go off to work all over again.
He goes around stopping suicidal teenagers, and helping children who got lost from their parents.
He does that because he cares.
But on the inside he can feel deeply alone.
No one understands him.
All that he has given for everyone and how much he never receives.
So yes, he’s sitting there…alone, putting his boots on one foot at a time with Metropolis getting attacked in the background.
He knows what must be done and what he is about to do all over again, for nothing in return.
His suit is worn, it’s all broken down, faded color and not all perfect and clean. It’s wrinkly, it’s bunched over, it’s not tight and fitting. It’s most likely made by his Mother. It’s all these things yet he still puts his uniform on.
Now I have all the faith in the world for James Gunn’s vision all over again
That’s the true essence of Superman
If the situation is as you say, I would like it too, but if it was designed not by his mother but by Kryptonians who are thousands of years ahead of us in terms of technology, it would upset me because the costume literally looks homemade.but I have to say that I am impressed by what you wrote, I hope that Gunn thought like you and designed the Superman character and the movie.

On the contrary I love the realistic aspect of the suit, the creases and stretch lines make sense in real world. Made me think that maybe this suit is thick toughened armour that which is so strong and rigid that only superman can squeeze through it and flex inside it. It could be a clever way to address that

Haven't watched the video yet but I saw it a couple hours ago and after looking at it myself my first thought was "I need to know what Boba thinks of this!" And then I was refreshing RUclips hoping for this video, it looks incredible and that background Cityscape is looking bananas
I don't think anyone should think of this as a permanent suit. Coz we have seen in both MCU and DCEU that superheroes tend to change their suit with almost every movie. So if Gunn thinks the suit is not working, he might change it in future.

I would bet real money that we’re seeing Solaris in the background - a living sun of sorts that coludes with Lex Luthor in ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, a comic Gunn has mentioned before as an important influence. In the animated adaptation, Solaris’ role is to absorb the sun and deprive Superman of solar energy, which is also part of Luthor’s plan. In the photo, it looks like storm clouds darkening an otherwise daytime sky. It would also be like his use of Starro in THE SUICIDE SQUAD, which of course had no casting because it was all visual effects. The reveal is similar to Starro’s in THE SUICIDE SQUAD because no one was really talking about Starro or expecting him until part of him showed up in an early trailer.

The first photo dump or trailer that's color corrected will show the true aspect of the suit but I love the collar trunks combo. That's something we've never had in live action before.

The thing I love most about this Superman suit is the fact that it actually looks like a suit and has taken some damage. New 52 Superman definitely served inspiration for David’s suit and i love it !!!!!!!

So I don’t understand the hate for the suit, I think it looks really good and there is a lot of intrigue with the photo like what the hell is going on in the background and people are ripping the suit for looking practical and Superman not smiling like relax the guy looks like he had a long day as Superman and maybe Clark Kent and he’s clearly tired like it’s night time now who knows what he has done that day, his suit looks like he’s been through some shit and I can imagine this being a scene where he sits down to take his boots off after a long day and then that thing appears and he’s putting it back on to go fight some more

I think the underpants are some sort of suspender-like harness to change parts of the suit separately. I believe both the pants and boots are new, and the chest part hasn't been changed yet. That might be a reason why the pants and boots don't seem to have any damage.
I LOVE how the suit looks! I was hoping for the classic similar to Reeve, but this looks incredible👌 I hope that we'll get that yellow S on the red cape & I also can't wait to see more of that iconic suit.
My only complaints are
1. A little baggy
2. It little dark but may just be the lighting
3. A little overdesigned with the lines

BOBA…this is a no go! 🤦🏾♂️ but I think this is a preliminary suit and he will have his final version at the end of the film.
Whatever happened in the movie before this picture was crazy, because the suit is beat up pretty bad. He OBVIOUSLY was in a few big fight scenes before this moment in the film. I bet it looks dope all clean and crisp. I'm not a huge fan of the collar, I'll be honest. Maybe in some different angles it will look better but for now, not a fan of the collar. That's REALLY my only big complaint. The lines don't bother me as much at all. I do kind of wish the suit was more tight fitting, though. It's a bit baggy in this shot, but when he's standing up, I bet it will look much better.
But he was ABSOLUTELY in some big fights to acquire all that damage. The whole suit will be the color of the blue on his knee in the beginning, and we've already seen the logo up close. I just wish he would've gave us a little video or multiple angles with the suit clean. How it looks without all the damage.
But for now, I'm ok with it. Don't LOVE it. But definitely don't hate it either. I think it will look dope asf in certain shots.
I’m a bit torn much like I was when I first saw the suit for The Batman, so I won’t rule out the possibility of the suit growing on me over time like The Batman suit did.

It's just OK, the background is ugly to me, a comment saying it's AI really hammers me.
But the suit alone in the vacum is ok, kinda wished something else, it has something odd. Hope in the movie it looks better so I can eat my words
I really want to like this, but it reminds me of the new 52 suit a bit too much for my liking. The logo’s fine, the color’s fine, I like that it shows battle damage since that’s never really been done before, but the collar and those lines bother me. There have been multiple Superman suits in live action that have almost not extra lines in it and they look great. It feels a bit unnecessary. I’ll wait to see it in motion before I judge it further.
Also the wack boots are these of CW batgirl season 2 copy and paste unfortunately
I have high hopes about this movie and even though I'm not crazy about this costume, I must say that it looks good. The picture itself gives me the vibe that he literally just finished putting a big bad away, arrives home and starts to take off his boot when suddenly war world appears and starts blasting Metropolis..Then he slowly slips his boot back on, that's the vibe I get from this photo. Hope it's awesome.
I really like it! Love the cape, symbol, boots and trunks as well as the colour of the suit. I'm cautiously optimistic about the lines on the suit I just hope they aren't too noticeable while in movement. Over-all I love it

What this suit lacks, is the muscle mass shown in the suit, that shows how powerful Superman is…THE MAN OF STEEL!!! 💯💯💯
I think the suit looks good the only thing I am not convinced is the boots hope we get an image of him standing up.

I just think Superman would know by the time he hits like 25 that his skin is boarder-line invulnerable and he doesn’t need pads so he would probably make a more simple suit being that he doesn’t really need to be protected.
@@EobardFerguson but of course, yeah if his parents sent him with a super suit, then it would be anything Kryptonians would find protective and at that point I don’t really have a problem. I would just hope that Clark would realize that the suit would probably even slow him down maybe a bit too much and want to change it out for something sleeker and less tactical. (obviously I’m trying to get as close to the justice league animated series suit as possible.)

I was worried when I heard the woman who did Guardians was doing the costumes for DC. It feels just like the Marvel suits.
It looks very cheap, much too thick, and a bit baggy around the wrists, neck and chest.
It should jusy have been a plain simple suit

Bobba hear me out - the ball of laser in the background - there’s a green beam coming from the right side - what if that’s green lantern vs the evil super man’s laser vision?! Imagine that’s how powerful this version of superman is - his laser vision could wipe out a city with ease 😮
