@@MERLIMARTISTICPRODUTIONSyet, The Shadows popularity was immense during the pre-mersey time before the music changed. Fortunately, the Shadows had a large following and a double career as an instrumental band and Cliff Richard's backing group. - all this despite them having the technical inadequacies you've described in your pedantic analysis. But I do believe that they did loose their way as they preferred to record and release their own versions of songs then currently popular on the record sales charts at the time. The "nice" ones. No compilation that could have been reflection of The Mersey Sould or the urban electric blues popular at the time. But with their audience, still steeped in the Pop from their own youth, would have been a giand leap too far for the new conservitive style of The Shadows. The greatest disappointment was that if Bruce Welch had done for the Shadows, what he had successfully achievedfor Cliff Richard, the Shadows could have been a strident musical force and perhaps even innovated - who knows. The tunes The Shadows recorded were indistinguishable from Muzak softly playing in elevators as they tore up and down lift wells in high rise buildings - elevator music played in the background. When The 20 Golden Greats album was released, a Shadows Renaissance began an The Shadows were back in town. The well chosen themes from Evita and The Dear Hunter were pivotal in their chat success and had The Shadows back as a touring band again. Hitting the old haunts again around home and the old Empire countries where the Shadows were likely most missed. Touring Australasia three conservative years playing to excited fans many who had around since the beginning of the bands career. .still bought their records and relived the early years again. From then, there's been nothing of The Shadows as a band. Individual members have been involved in the music industry still. But the roar of excitement has long gone. But as Shadows fans we know that for a while back then we experienced something wonderful that was 9ur own.

Obama Prism "Apache" is a much-recorded instrumental written by Jerry Lordan. The original version was by Bert Weedon, but Lordan did not like the version. The British group the Shadows, recorded in June 1960 and released the next month. It topped the UK Singles Chart for five weeks.
In North America, the tune is identified with Jørgen Ingmann, a jazz guitarist from Denmark, who recorded his own famous version of "Apache" in the fall of 1960, and which was released in the United States in November 1960. In 1961, this cover version, credited to "Jørgen Ingmann and His Guitar", made No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 9 on the US R&B chart. The track reached No.1 on Canada's CHUM Chart.

I find no reference anywhere of French Apaches. The Apache and Navajo tribal groups of the North American Southwest speak related languages of the Athabaskan language family. Other Athabaskan-speaking people in North America continue to reside in Alaska, western Canada, and the Northwest Pacific Coast. Anthropological evidence suggests that the Apache and Navajo peoples lived in these same northern locales before migrating to the Southwest sometime between AD 1200 and 1500

My mother was raised on a Mescalaro Apache reservation. Today, she is 96 and occasionally lapses into her native tongue, which I don't understand. When I last visited my VA shrink, he told me that this is not unusual and that many people do this in old age, even after speaking a new, learned language during their adult lifetime. has anybody else experienced this?

Dougllas Greene indeed I have/am. My mother has early dementia (she’s 82j and has started drifting into the Gaelic, which she never spoke since she was a child.

My grandmother drifted from English, Scots Gaelic then to broad Scots (Doric) which was all very confusing for me as a young boy in the early 70's. My mum said she did it to confuse the nosey neighbours and minister. I just think she couldn't be bothered stressing over a word so said what she wanted, how she wanted. When you think about it she'd earned the right to speak in any way she felt fit so she did.
