    Nice video dear sir , but what i got the churn pressure is pr at which pump is runing with water and gate valve at discharge pump line is completly closed ,
    So if we run the pump at 100 % flow capcity with closed Gv at discharge
    then pump will get heated , and bez of the K.E is converting into heat , there is a relife vlave line to atm with small dischage line to cool the pump casing , but for how long we will run the pump , if we run too much pump will burn , so is it for 30 sec ,
    AND FOR THE FITTING AFTER THE discharge of pump does it has to with stand pr = or > than churn pr rating while selection this will increase the cost of material ,
    Is it like that fittings near the pump discharge line we consider pr rating of it to be churn pr , and for fitting far a way from pump room we consider it to withstand normal pump pr , as pr decrese as we go far a way from pump room

    • @TanweerAhmed

      You got right from my point of view but it is NFPA standard requirements

      @@TanweerAhmed thank y , but still i have one point that , if we are taking churn pr to be with standing pr for fittings in system
      , so while the main pump start set point = jockey start pr - 5 psi
      = 155 psi - 5 psi = 150 psi
      So it means when the main pump will start it will exert a pr of 150 psi on all fitting , and we considered the fitting working pr to be churn pr = 115 psi ,
      Isnt in this case the fitting will fail

    • @TanweerAhmed
      @TanweerAhmed  2 года назад +2

      In firefighting, fittings are used PN25, it means fitting can sustain 250psi nominal pressure

    Thanks for shareing knowledge, this pressure setting is followed by globally or it varies from country fire force department? During fire case the fire pump start and running continues after fire put off. Do we need to switch of the pump manually or it automatically switch of depends on pressure or timer?

    • @TanweerAhmed
      @TanweerAhmed  Год назад

      JazakaAllah, this is NFPA recommendations pressure setting for fire pumps. All fire pumps run and stop automatically except diesel fire pump.

    • @nizamuddinz4392
      @nizamuddinz4392 Год назад

      Water flows out of the system through sprinkler, pumps will be continuous running and no chance to build up the pressure in system with fused sprinklers. In this case how main pump will auto swith off and reaches the cut off pressure.

All Fire pumps start and stop not to be based on actual line/pipe pressure instead of churn pressure since actual line pressure is far less than churn pressure due to losses Darcey law ? . Here I am considering Churn pressure is the pressure at pump discharge line when gate valve is fully closed i.e. max pressure. Please guide me.

    • @TanweerAhmed
      @TanweerAhmed  3 года назад +1

      In this condition, no city water and underground tank therefore suction pressure consider zero or negative as per site condition. If considering zero then jockey pump stop 225psi if head is calculated correctly and then jockey pump start 225-10=215psi and fire pump start 215-5=210psi

      1. Pressure relief valve is installed at pump discharge for relieving excessive pressure from set or cut off value. Moreover, pump head is design for centrifugal fire pump which does not increase head pressure from design, therefore no problem of pipeline damages.

      Air Vessel Tank is an expansion tank or expansion vessel is a small tank used to protect closed (not open to atmospheric pressure) fire or chilled or domestic water systems from excessive pressure. The tank is partially filled with air, whose compressibility cushions shock caused by water hammer and absorbs excess water pressure caused by thermal expansion. Therefore, in this tank only air filling with air release valve.

      PSI is unit of pressure and KG is unit of mass or weight therefore can't convert. However you say that convert psi into kg/cm2 then 1psi = 0.07kg/cm2
