For 10+ years I ate a huge spinach salad every day for lunch. My belly would blow up, I’d look 10 months pregnant, feel miserable, but thought this was healthy. I have celiac disease and am allergic to milk. So lots of almond milk and flour. Ate lots of sweet potatoes, chocolate, white potatoes and beans and nuts. My creatinine level was slowly rising, and they’d just tell me to drink more water. I ended up with massive kidney stones and had to have surgery. Every day in the late afternoon (after my big spinach salad), I’d notice this white powder/dust/ crystals on the tops of my cheeks. I’d have to remember to look in a mirror to brush that dust (oxalates) off my cheeks. I never knew what that was at the time. I’ve been carnivore just over a year and have gone through oxalate dumping three times so far- hip/low back pain, joint pain, the dust on my cheeks, crystals coming out my eyes, and cloudy gritty urine. I wonder how many years it will take to get all the oxalates out of my tissues.
Same here! Spinach salads, steamed spinach… name it! 🙄 Nasty kidney stone attack and still didn’t connect the dots! After starting keto lifestyle last August along with yoga and long lake walks I got much better, lost 15 lb immediately, dropped my bp meds and antidepressants, but my arthritis was still there 😏. Weight stalled and bloating was getting insane. Stomach cramps after those bowls of greens (as Dr Berg recommended) got unbearable. After discovery of Dr Berry and Dr Chaffee I switched to carnivore and everything started changing rapidly! Started loosing fat again (the last 15lb) , got tons of energy,so added Pilates and weight lifting to my routine. Toning up like there is not tomorrow and I AM 61! (Female) Arthritis is almost gone, my hair (OMG my hair) 🙏🏻 grew back and became shiny and healthy. They used to fall off in chunks while brushing! 😖 Now… one or two hairs on the brush every other day or so. My sense of smell, taste and hearing came back 👏👏👏👏👏 And (kinda little embarrassing to admit in my age) but sexual drive is back too! Thank goodness my husband is one of those who seems never going to loose it and I was miserable with that. Not anymore 🤭🤭🤭
Very good choice! I was doing spinach smoothies every day for a year and developed acute oxalate poisoning! (I already had an oxalate toxicity issue but that really tipped me over the edge!)
Chaffee is a fraud...he's not a doctor and not in surgical.residency....all lies...just like his lies about food....doesn't understand chemistry at all...
After 11 months Carnivore I am still dumping oxalates-although it's finally slowing a bit. It is SO CRITICAL to know how toxic spinach smoothies with almond milk are - THANK YOU both for getting this health information out to the public. Information like this is saving my health and quality of life!
How do you know when you are dumping oxalates? I have had bumps on my arms and legs for a week now, and I was wondering if that was a part of the process.
Dermatologist says I suddenly have seborrheic dermatitis. It's in 3 places...I went to him because of the breakout around my eyes, but all 3 locations are listed in Sally's book.
Was eating just meat and veggies, was loosing weight, soon as I cut out veggies my whole body healed,my inflammation was gone in two weeks.65 and one year on carnivore, looking and feeling awesome 😎
Finally! I used to pass kidney stones every year - year and a half. All the 'knowledgeable' ER personnel would do is ask me how much alcohol and soda pop i drank. When i answered that i didnt drink that stuff they would look at me with a smirk on their face and say "yeah...right". I decided maybe being healthier would help so i started with more dark leafy greens, berries, almonds,a square of dark chocolate every night, etc. I started passing stones 6-9montgs apart. I always thought that if there was information for me to not pass stones that at least ONE of the many ER people would have at least commented. I started researching and was FLOORED. If just ONE of the doctors or nurses had even said look up high oxalate foods i would have realized that there was something i could do. It was insinuated to me that just alcohol and soda pop were to blame and surgery was the only answer. I havent passed a stone since!
Thank goodness for the internet because these doctors and nurses unfortunately don't seem to give a s*** and if you look at them most of them are really not in good shape at all they're not very healthy themselves and they don't know what they're doing
Chaffee is a giftted interviewer, he lets the person speak without interuption when they are on track, rare these days, u have a natural ecpression of information, which builds confidence in the person being interviewed
Sally is why I started looking into oxalates over a year ago. Her book helped me understand what our diet was doing to us and how to fix it. Dr. Chaffee got me started on the carnivore diet that I very am thankful for. Their knowledge is helping so many of us.
I have vitiligo and thyroid problems. I have been carnivore since January 2024. I am grateful for having come across this diet on youtube. I feel healthy - no bloating no stomach aches. I feel strong. I will never stop being on this diet. I am hoping it has an effect on vitiligo to help mitigate it's spread on my skin. 😊
I am not on carnivore diet and actually just found out about Dr Sally Norton and her book about oxalates. This is some very interesting stuff. I’m omnivore and felt worse months ago when I went on a two month green smoothie & no meat diet. After two months I stopped I feel it wasn’t helping and probably contributing to health problems I was trying to fix, now I have translucent edges around my teeth, my skin didn’t get better in healing (I can’t heal a pimple) my hairfall got worse, etc As far as vitiligo, research into copper deficiency 👍🏽
Lol I just watched a German video from the tvberlin channel, Wie Sie durch Epigenetik gezielte Entgiftungsstrategien anwenden können, all about toxins (not oxalates, mostly glyphosate but also others) but I liked this sentence most: " And this burden on us today is also a creeping burden; every day we eat vegetables, fruits, some carbohydrates, maybe even organic things, yes, if we are already familiar with that. But each of these substances simply contains environmental toxins,...." and the speaker also explains how these toxins travel through the body and damage the mitochondria etc. Interesting! A huge study in Canada has shown that everything except animal products (including eggs!) are contaminated with glyphosate because the animals were designed to deal with it, we're not. ruclips.net/video/wi-IJu-qDQM/видео.html Edit: here's the study, and I'm quoting their findings, not only about ruminants: "Dairy/Meat: This was the smallest category, with a total of 22 samples. This included a total of 10 dairy-based products and 12 meat-based products. (See Table S2 for more information on the samples tested.) Glyphosate was not detected in any sample. As expected, whatever the source of the glyphosate, glyphosate was not detected in these products because the animal will metabolize and eliminate the pesticide before it can transfer to the milk or meat." Here is the study: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.jafc.9b07819 The highest concentration was found in INFANT food!
Vielen Dank liewekesie für diese Beitrage I immediatly went to watch your you tube link On Mr Pottenger's videos , he claims that gelatin (animal product) is great for ligaments and tendons , yet should be taken with glycine , to impede all the glyphosate in the gelatin ..... . Your statement ".... everything except animal products are contaminated with glyphosate because the animals were designed to deal with it " runs contrarywise to Mr Pottenger"s ideas I am confused .....
@@susanneschauf7417 Thank you for this answer . Thus glyphosate and gmo grains are broken in the stomachs of ruminants ! Pigs , which are fed absolutely anything aren't ruminants .... and gelatin comes mainly from them
Best things that I stopped eating vegies and fruits. I eat mainly eggs, beef or pork. Ocasionaly potatos. This was first winter without any cold, flu or cough. My wife knows all these. My wife she had recently covid and few months before flu. She just can’t keep up to give up so many food. And eat more beef and eggs. Now she is seeing how well my body was imune aginst winters diseases . But still she just can’t give up the balanced diet.
My husband is the same. He agreed to try keto which is good. But he has to have something on his plate, so he is ok with low oxalate, low carb fruits and veg (butternut squash, cauliflower, etc)
Yeah, I looooooove beef cheese and eggs, but 30 years of having veg based sides on the plate cannot just be unlearned. I'll have a ribeye, eggs, and chick on a plate, and my subconscious just still goes "some rice or mashed potatoes would finish this".
I expect you are the one that is doing the research? From my experience, people who do not do research, tend to not accept the hard truths. We all negotiate things, and if you do not do the hard work of researching information, you tend to negotiate more with yourself. At least, that is what I have found. I have tried helping family. Passing along what I consider critical information for their health. But they prefer to be overweight and sick. As they do not do the research, they feel it is impossible to live a healthier lifestyle.
Thank you for this perfectly timed episode. Just what I wanted to learn more about. You’re doing a fantastic job with these interviews. So helpful and informative.
So wish I’d of known this years ago. I’m 62 and have been poisoning myself with “healthy foods” for over 50 years! Been carnivore for a year and still experiencing oxalate dumping. But I’ve have enough improvement to keep going. Excellent video!!
Thanks for the encouragement, sounds like what I'm going through but just on my carnavore diet since January. Lots of dumping, nasal drainage, eye scales ... the blahs ... good to know this too will pass.
My concern is not just the oxalates in so call super foods but the iron and folic acid in all grains and flour. So called enriched? One video showed that this enriched is toxic to the gut and body in general. But it’s in all process foods, cereals and breaded meats. Can you elaborate because this is yet another unbelievable crime against humanity health and wellbeing.
The only good thing about Oxalic acid is that it makes a great cleaner so it is the main ingredient in Barkeepers Friend ( a scouring powder ) similar but milder than Comet … not something I want in my body !!!!
I love BKF. My neighbors own the company, but I've barely met them. I had a fire in my business and that product saved so many things that otherwise would have been tossed.
This is encouraging! After breast cancer & 5 years of tamoxifen, my liver function was suffering (but I was eating MORE veggies, trying to be healthy). I began carnivore (last year) 90 days b4 oncologist appt, hoping to improve. Dissappointed that it hadn't improved that much, now I realize it may take longer. Looking forward to THIS year's appt. More to come...
I have leakygut & then gluten intoIrance (auto i) so I can't eat grains or anything high fodmap & not absorbing nutrients well. I've been on this since first of the yr & still have problems so I think this is going to be a long road too
@@somethingsburning774 I’m also still having issues but have improved tremendously. I am assuming that it will take about a year to three years before I see huge changes. I was poisoning myself. It seems to be that all of the high oxalate foods were my favorite foods. And then I drank almond milk, I never should’ve drank almond milk and I didn’t know that. All I knew is that my health was getting worse I was feeling worse and I couldn’t figure out why until I ran into the carnivore diet. And I decided I was going to try it, what did I have to lose. And because I feel much better, even though I am definitely not better, but I feel much better, there’s no reason for me to not continue this. I watched Jordan Peterson, and I think it took him three years to fix his gum disease, so I’m assuming it’s gonna take a long time for my body to heal for the past 50 years of abuse
@@EndNuclearAgenda21 Wow, same! All the highest oxal's were my favs too (but very little spinach lol) & then there's the lectins I loved plus sugar/carbhoIic bing's. I did it to myself so it's deserved but I honestly thought 2-3 mos would be all healed up! 🤡😅 I was way off. This will be a long time & I'm still tweaking my food too. My meat dip has dairy that might be a problem & then cheese that has ingredient probs. I feel SOO much better tho. Regular whole foods would be a disaster for me. Hoping we both heal up quickly 👍🏼
It’s been building up for 30 years. My stomach is so volatile right now. Grainy diarrhea 1-3 times a day, cramps in between. I was on vacation and accidentally or unkowingly ate a low oxalate diet. Arrived home, opened utube and saw Sally. Realizing i had already been on a low oxalate diet i decided to continue. While on vacation i had two rosacea flares and couple of headaches, the headaches are rare for me. To sum up this is new to me. Binged on sally video’s and now trying to have some oxalates so i dont dump too quickly. It’s a crash course in oxalates for me. Wish i had known sooner. I’m an RN but this is so much new information, im trying to learn as i go. I thought i was pretty smart but this totally caught me by surprise. Sally is a genius.
My mum is 96, eating vegetables and meat all her life. Everything in moderation. Is the pesticides and what no one talks about is Apeel. A preservative spray the been sprayed on everything you buy even organic. They dont tell you they are sprayed. People look in to it.
@@starbright144 yes, your are correct. We are setting our own garden. 140 X 50 feet, can expand if need to. Bought hot house 15 X 8 feet for seedlings. This way you know what you are eating. Take care
Yes they're sprayed With so many chemicals Will make you sick and vomit if you only knew how much it was I'm in the agricultural business. Billions of dollars per spent on chemicals On agricultural product chemical sprays. I've tried To get the FDA To mandate QR codes on all food products Warning consumers All the chemicals that are sprayed on every vegetable. that'll never happen because the whole system is corrupt To the bone.
After a year of following Sally's book, I'm getting a grip on my autoimmune issues even more with my new oxalate awareness. Carnivore turned it around but now I can also enjoy certain fruits, with my Greek yogurt, and salad greens with my seafood salads. So many health puzzles solved by her book💕
I am in the stage of oxalate dumping after starting carnivore😖😖 For sure it’s not fun! But I have to do it in order to get rid off arthritis.. and other chronic issues.. Almost there… 💪💪 Collected those poisons for all my life, can’t expect to fix it in a few months 😏
Heh, when I was trying out vegan, I went very heavy on raw spinach, almonds, cashews, black beans, shredded wheat, wheat bran, and cocoa powder in hot water. Vegan made me fat and puffy. When I switched abruptly to ketovore and then carnivore, I broke out with a few dozen small red bumps on my torso that reminded me of chigger bites, but these lasted almost a year. I assume that was oxalate dumping.
I also have oxalates coming out on my shoulders. I thought it might to midge bites (that might ne the Australian equivalent of chiggers - don't know). But there's quite a big patch of sores, just realised that it's oxalates.
I appreciate every ounce of information you share with us, teaching us how to maintain optimal health! Grateful. Thank you. I’ve changed my eating habits. I am definitely feeling better after eating more meat and less plants.
I've been Ketovore for well over a year now. Every few weeks, I'll have some steamed broccoli w/butter, but that's the extend of the veggies. A couple of days ago, I was craving a salad, so I bought spring mix salad, with baby spinach in it. I had a salad (with hard boiled eggs and bacon) that afternoon. About an hour later, I started getting GI discomfort and cramping, followed shortly after by awful, relentless diarrhea that didn't stop for almost 3 hours. It was terrible! I'm guessing it was the salad, and the fact that my GI tract wasn't used to it.
I ate some spinach and broccoli two weeks ago and wound up in the E.R. with food poisoning. Those veggies literally tried to kill me! The other bag of spinach in my freezer is going in the trash. I always wondered why I became so bloated and gassy after eating vegetables. I always thought it was normal...not anymore. 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Id only eat the oxolate laden plant food to sustain my survival. I refer to it as camp food. Its temporary edibles, if its the only choice available. 40 years ago, my first career occupation was clinical dietetics(nutritional medicine) for 10 years. I had issues about many of the FDA/NDA guidelines. It became political and nasty! I rarely consumed the daily reccomended servings of fruits, vegetables, carbs and copious amounts of water. Im in my 60's. Im lean, excellent health and want to stay this way! Thank you for spreading these words of truth! Many people are too programmed to change their eating habits.
My mom is an oxalate junkie: spinach smoothies every morning, green tea every day, dark leafy green salads every night. She had to get her thyroid removed and I think that has something to do with it!
It blocks iodine and that damages the thyroid. That's why many seniors have drooping skin under their chins. Bad thyroid from a lack of iodine. I have firm skin under my chin at 66 because I knew this about anti nutrients and iodine decades ago.
wish I could have asked her her opinion about fermented veggies, like saur kraut and Kvass... I have no problem with them. I don't have studies but have read the fermentation process makes the plant 'toxics' harmless. That has been my experience.
The problem with isolated oxalates though is that they are more physical than chemical. It's not really possible to detoxify something that doesn't always involve itself with chemical processes (though some oxalates do bind with calcium etc). Much isolated oxalate dumping is a literal mechanical process, in that those oxalate crystals/shards physically work out of joints, skin etc, and even the eyes for some, leaving them red & painful. So, fermentation doesn't seem to lower oxalate levels to a noticeable degree (or so I've heard).
@@_Solaris You are right. Fermentation doesn't help to degrade oxalates. But cabbage is low in oxalates so if one wants to have it, it's ok from an oxalate standpoint.🪷
I grew up in the tropics & had a star fruit tree that fruited year round, as a kid I ate tons. Star fruit is so high in oxalates 2-3 can kill people with poor kidney function. Then I went (Dr. Berg) keto with 5-7 cups salad (lots of spinach), plus almond butter, almond flour mug bread, dark chocolate in my coffee. Let’s just say, leaky gut and inflammation party ensued. I’m ketovore now, but only consume enough black tea occasionally to prevent dumping, I avoid all other oxalate foods. Hope to clear them out soon.
Anyone looking for a room to rent and do the carnivore woe together? Thinking this would be ideal for someone who has a hard time standing long enough to cook for themselves or do cleaning. I’m in northern CA and have an extra room and can do the cooking and cleaning. No more than 6months.
You're giving us science, but even without knowing the science of it my grandmother; born around 1900; was taught and taught in turn....parboil, drain, parboil, drain again...do this until that off/bitter taste is gone. We couldn't afford a lot of meat and filling out a meal for a big family, especially in the summertime, required plants...properly prepared.
Food is now like politics. Vegans defend veganism no matter any evidence that may suggest something else. Same with carnivore. Same with Keto. Same with vegetarian. If I’m going eat a salad I’ll avoid spinach if I can. I love Arugula however. If I’m going to use a dressing I’m going to avoid Ranch, I will use XVOO. If I’m going to eat a burger. It’s going to be a a grass fed and finished burger. Eggs. Pasture Raised for sure. Organic butter. Heck, I use arugula as my base. Broccoli sprouts. Shred a little turmeric root. Grass fed finished burger. Organic cheese. 2 pasture scrambled eggs. Spicy raw sauerkraut. I feel like I’m 25 again. The quality matters as much if not more than what you’re eating. The food is so bad….in cans…boxes…bottles.
Amen. My position is as long as you're not eating processed foods it's better than most. I just got my elderly mother and stepfather to go carnivore, mom's BP is better after a week and stepdad is getting feeling in his hands after years of numbness. Visiting my mother in law in a few days, hoping to at least influence her away from highly processed crap but it's her life, her body, her choice. People are so insecure in their beliefs if others don't agree it threatens them.
I’ve no idea why Daniel Roytas is currently dissing oxalates 🤷♀️ If he’d encountered kidney stones he may think differently 🤨 PS: Liked before watching as my two favourites here 😊
Because he's majoring on plant eating, he's possibly a vegan. I have been pointing out the issue with oxalates and natural pesticides in plants on his telegram channel, he's since been dissing oxalates and blaming added pesticides to crops instead. Typical cognitive dissonance.
I stopped eating plants. Since then, my life improved considerably. P. S. Consider the fact I was keto for over 4 years. Plants make mitochondria function at 20-25% of capacity. Who wants to be at just 1/4-1/5 of its capacity?!? This is sheer madness!!

OMG, I finally get it! I came to Carnivore/Lion seven months ago after a super severe reaction to my daily Spinach Almond Milk Nut Butter Smoothie advocated by a nutritionist. I was seeking to find out what I was allergic to and to heal. Now I know! I've lived feeling crappy for over 50 years; multiple seemingly unrelated medical conditions that the doctors just shrug their shoulders about. Thank you for bringing us this crucial information from Norton. I would love to see another interview with her about calming the oxalate dumping storm.
Explains why, since I quit the oxalates, my liver and kidney are doing so much better. I have reversed fatty liver disease and kidney disease. I no longer hurt (what I thought was arthritis and fibromyalgia) is gone. So is gerd, gas, tummy issues, and so many other issues. Oh and I am down 70 lbs in the last 18 months too. No more heart palpitations since I started electrolytes with 2000 mg of potassium.
Just a question. I dont eat spinach salad ever, but have always cooked it in some olive oil & garlic. Is that bad as well? Can someone let me know please. Thanks
Eating the same thing every day is going to cause a problem. I've known for 70yrs that you can't eat spinach every day!! It doesn't make spinach bad, it makes me stupid if I eat it constantly.
Exactly. Still, I no longer eat spinach, unless someone else cooks it and offers me some. I feel better without it. I don't miss it. I prefer cabbage, brussels and broccoli
Mr Chaffee hi from Greece , very good this idea to talk about oxalates, it was one main reason to start carnivore. But I always feel hungry with this diet and I start to have problems with cramps for first time in my life!! so these last days I put some fruits, honey and yogart (in Greece we have really beautiful yogart from lump's milk) maybe you don't agree with this. Two months now I eat carnivore . When I see you on videos you seem to me a honest and good heart person, I take this feeling from you, keep on helping humans.
Keep on getting conflicting advice! Some experts say eat lots of veg and others say they are poisonous!😮 Some say eat a varied diet, others a carnivore diet. Keto.Vegetarian. Who is telling the truth or do they all havd their own agenda?
I’m 45, have 9 kids, bad rosacea, muscle and joint pain, overweight, severe exhaustion and brain fog. I dropped everything I was eating cold turkey and started carnivore yesterday. I swear I am already experiencing less bloating. But how on earth do I get kids onto this bandwagon? Especially the younger kids? Tips and tricks for carni kids not unwelcome
I have 5 kids, ages 1-11, and I took them ketovore first and that helped. They were still allowed lettuce, peppers, cukes, almond flour and such. I also got rid of everything in our home that wasn't a part of our diet. Including any spices that had sweeteners or or additives. The hardest part is visiting with family when their cousins are eating rice and crap and we don't, but after 4 months they are pretty used to it. We also found that letting them eat what they want vs a "family meal" helps a lot. My son loves his burgers with cheese and salt and the girls are obsessed with taco meat. (burger, homemade taco seasoning, sour cream, and cheese) I also added in dessert, which I never did before. Once a week we eat ice cream. As for holidays, I let them indulge. My husbands family is from Malta and the aniund of breads and pasta at family functions is insane. I'm trying to teach them that, that is what holidays used to be for. It was the only time of year to ate that way. Unlike today where a lot of this food id available 24/7.
Good luck, but you have just gone from one extreme to another. Balance is the answer and if you do not understand the science of food in the body, I would also be very cautious of influencing your kids diet. Just avoid the stupid human and their fads. Processed food is simply to be avoided.
Eat the food God makes not the food man makes. There is clearly a balance between proteins… Fish and meat, eggs, and vegetables and fruits and nuts and seeds.
Would this remobilization of oxalates in the body to be cleaned out by the kidneys once you cut out dietary high oxalate foods cause your AST and ALT levels released by your liver to go up? The reason for the question is my AST increased from 21 to 30 and ALT from 30 to 35 once I completely cut out carbs and went full carnivore. Looking for an explanation why that would happen?
I use a natural toothpaste and mouth rinse to avoid chemicals like Florida, SLS, etc. My natural toothpaste contains aloevera gel, which is known to have oxalate. Which toothpaste should we be using for optimum health? Thank-you.
@Heidishereandthere Baking soda is an incorrect answer because it has 35mg /100g of oxalate, whereas baking powder has 0mg/100g. According to the Oxalosis & Hyperoxaluria Foundation.
I’m curious about beets. It’s the one food I’ve taken in minor amounts while on carnivore that is outside the norm for NO2/BP/other benefits but if it needs removed, so be it.
I’ve loved beets and beet greens my whole life! I ended up with oxalate stones in my liver and was told beets are one of the highest oxalate foods of all! 😢
I’m struggling with the plants are trying to kill you. So many people have experienced major healings from going raw, doing vegetable juices etc. not to mention people in the blue zones are eating plant and meat/fish based diet. Help me get this
I had the same problem before I started listening Dr Chaffee, Dr Berry, Sally Norton, Elizabeth Bright and others… At the end it all make sense. Humanity survived through ice age… and guess what🤓 There were no veggies, fruits or berries out there 😉😉
@@jolantagoetter6224 thanks for the reply. I guess the way I look at is, it’s one thing not to have access to plants and able to live just fine and even thrive without them vs eating plants is detrimental to our health.
If they serve you and you can tolerate them, eat plants but treat them like medicine, condiments and supplements. You don't eat those things in copious amounts, they aren't meant to be the bulk of your meals. The vegan/raw diet is almost like a type of fasting, it can he healing but you don't do it forever, you do it for only as long and as often as you need to to cleanse and heal. It's not complete sustenance. We can definitely survive on plants but that's not the same as thrive.
I like the idea of carnivore, the trouble is there's so much dietary information out there that I don't know what to believe. I guess the only thing to do is experiment and see what works. We're all different and what's good for one may not be for another.
Since I was born through 27 years of eating a species inappropriate diet, I’m surprised my body hasn’t said “fuck you” yet. Crazy how much our body can tolerate crap without going 6ft under.
My BIL eats a pound of brussel sprouts EVERY DAY. I thought he was poisoning himself with oxalates but I read that brussel sprouts don't really have oxalates. It just provides fiber and bloatness. Drives my sis crazy with the smell in more ways than one👃🏼🥴
Hey Doc It’s ok to only eat burger patties with minimal additives ? I see they still add some kind of flower to hold them together(tapioca starch) I bought new type of burger today and contain some types of black pepper, sodium metabisulphite, ascorbic acid, rapeseed oil. For these i don’t have a percentage but beef it’s 76% of which fat 23% Is this good? I also eat fish, butter and raw eggs, bought also some liver I don’t like cold meat after being cocked;have any ideea why? Tried pork and don’t like it, specially the fat that make me throw up. I don’t eat chicken for more than 6 months. Overal i feel better, carnivore for a week, had few days of low energy, followed by one day toilet issues. Now everything is fine
So how is it in recorded history people lived to be hundreds of years old when they ate more plants and less meat that was eating plants instead of grains?
@@texasforever1974 We have always ate grains and veggies from the beginning meat came later, Noah was the first recorded person to eat meat after the flood Gen 9:1-3. For 1600-years prior everyone was a vegetarian Gen 1:29-30 Adam and Eve so there is nothing else to research. Are lifespan is decreasing because of sin not veggies.
Even from a Biblical history perspective, the ground was “cursed” (Genesis 3:17) because Adam disobeyed his creator. Each successive generation had a diminishing lifespan which accelerated after the flood. It stands to reason that the quality and variety of food was limited by banishment from Eden. I wonder if some plant life even became extinct after being submerged for months in the deluge. Maybe that is why God did not rescind the provision of eating flesh of living creatures after the ground dried up. The evidence is mounting that humans need animals to digest and assimilate most vegetation in order for it to have the best bioavailability. We subsist when limited to eating vegetation. Sin (missing the mark of perfection) is inherent in man since all children born to Adam came after his condemnation, and we die as a result. The diminished quality of our food combined with our fallen flesh is a double whammy, it seems. Consequently, we are vulnerable to the effects of oxylates, as Sally Norton describes beginning around 7:23 in this video.
Watch the full video in the description you can find the link or at the end of the video, and Dr. Chaffee has another video on this called "getting rid of oxalates" with a black and red thumbnail
I think that people should be careful when establishing what causes otherwise multi-factorial problems. Having studied diet and nutrition for over thirty years, I have seen so many people come out and blame one compound or the other for the gamut of diseases etc. I would like some more studies before I blame one metabolite again. I've been there done that. Granted the overloading of diets with processed foods is the main issue for people and not IMO spinach and other green vegetables.
awesome video. I have seen more videos of Sally Norton who says to eliminate oxalates from people who have been vegan for many years it takes 7 to 12 years, after 10 years she is still having oxalate discharges... I believe that Sally Norton does not do a carnivore diet but a low oxalate diet with carbohydrates and for this reason between his years of being a vegan and a low oxalate and carbohydrate diet after 10 years he still hasn't solved his problems, I believe that the right path is carnivore diet and 0 carbohydrates and as I have heard many with a maximum of 3-6 months the drains are exhausted because all the ones I have heard on videos solve bone pain and all the dumping problems...
I have been on carnivore for only three weeks and have noticed little bumps on my arms and larger pink bumps on my legs. Could this be a form of detoxing?
Oxilate dumping Started healthy human way of life 4 weeks ago at 203lbs now 178 lbs .I am suffering badly with oxilate dumpling into my neck and right shoulder like severe arthritic pain.Do I have to grin and bear until the process is complete or is there a way of easing the pain?
The oxalate dump that happens on an elimination diet, especially the carnivore diet, is really important to talk about. Because people are not aware and blame the carnivore diet while the body is finally detoxing from the accumulated poisons. Even the “keto flu” may be ox dumping.
You are absolutely correct. I started time restricted fasting and carnivore at the same time. I expected certain physical events to manifest and they did. But I had done lots of research. People think if this is so good for you then you should feel amazing day one and just get better and better each day. Wrong! Your body is used to your habits. Your brain gets addicted to carbs and like an addict wants it's fix. Your digestive tract is completely disrupted. There is a window of time where you will experience challenges if you are caught unaware. But if you understand your body and it's function is not simple like a light switch you understand what is happening and in a matter of a few weeks, give it take, you start seeing amazing results.
@@richardgonzales3562 everyone is different and this statement gets confirmed for me daily in this healing carnivore space. For example, I started feeling amazing immediately, dropped weight, lifelong depression went away, the works. I started slowly intuitively and that was the way to go. I had an 8 month carnivore honeymoon and then i gained weight and more serious oxalate dumping began, chronically. I’ve binged a LOT of oxalates in my over half a century long life, so it’s to be expected. I also dumped ox like crazy before i even began carnivore so i was on board and paying attention. Love the diet, make adjustments as i go and my latest healing strategy is short dry fasts weekly. Amazing for resetting and healing my gut. Byproduct: keeps eating the same thing super exciting. Cheers!
Organic has nothing to do with it, it's the plant itself - apparently the way a plant protects itself as it grows but DrGundry has explained how certain ways you cook them can remove alot of the problem. I think peeling & boiling a potato is one way
when it comes to oxalates, its better to take off high oxalate foods (chocolate, spinach, nuts, potato skin) and then slowly reduce the consumption of other foods with oxalates, such as fruits, potato flesh and some plants you enjoy (that are not dangerously high in oxalates). if you just stop cold turkey you get some pretty shitty symptoms for months straight I believe, it's almost like quitting a drug after years of abuse and the drawbacks are extremely bad. It's better to slowly take them off.
thank you for this video, i find it very interesting about oxalates, and it all makes a lot of sense, but i wondered what you thought about the video that a lady has done on you tube...>>> Goodbye Lupus by Brooke Goldner, ...its called called the oxalates myth,.... she has a group where people go on smoothies to get rid of health problems including lupus , how can this be helping people with health probs when its so bad for the body .
I have Oxalate poisoning from eating vegan and drinking superfood smoothies, spices make me sick. They are not getting healthy just a temporary change, getting off of toxic manufactured foods.
I often wondered why most of my vegan friends were soooo thin, but had bloated bellies. You are so good you escaped terminal, possibly fatal damage.

Same here! Spinach salads, steamed spinach… name it! 🙄
Nasty kidney stone attack and still didn’t connect the dots!
Now… one or two hairs on the brush every other day or so.
Never had a kidney stone in my life. Been juicing greens & eating raw since I was 18.

Cooking or steaming your spinach for a minute or two and draining is supposed to significantly lower the oxalates.

After 11 months Carnivore I am still dumping oxalates-although it's finally slowing a bit. It is SO CRITICAL to know how toxic spinach smoothies with almond milk are - THANK YOU both for getting this health information out to the public.

…til the veg is back in season and you can ingest the toxin again?? 🤪

After two months I stopped I feel it wasn’t helping and probably contributing to health problems I was trying to fix, now I have translucent edges around my teeth, my skin didn’t get better in healing (I can’t heal a pimple) my hairfall got worse, etc
As far as vitiligo, research into copper deficiency 👍🏽
A huge study in Canada has shown that everything except animal products (including eggs!) are contaminated with glyphosate because the animals were designed to deal with it, we're not. ruclips.net/video/wi-IJu-qDQM/видео.html
Edit: here's the study, and I'm quoting their findings, not only about ruminants: "Dairy/Meat:
This was the smallest category, with a total of 22 samples. This included a total of 10 dairy-based products and 12 meat-based products. (See Table S2 for more information on the samples tested.) Glyphosate was not detected in any sample. As expected, whatever the source of the glyphosate, glyphosate was not detected in these products because the animal will metabolize and eliminate the pesticide before it can transfer to the milk or meat."

I expect you are the one that is doing the research? From my experience, people who do not do research, tend to not accept the hard truths. Cabbage is low in oxalates.

Awesome interview. Great info. Thanks, Sally and Anthony!
Wow...Great info😊
Just a question. I dont eat spinach salad ever, but have always cooked it in some olive oil & garlic. Is that bad as well? Can someone let me know please. Thanks
Eating the same thing every day is going to cause a problem. I've known for 70yrs that you can't eat spinach every day!! It doesn't make spinach bad, it makes me stupid if I eat it constantly.
Exactly. Still, I no longer eat spinach, unless someone else cooks it and offers me some. I feel better without it. I don't miss it. I prefer cabbage, brussels and broccoli
Isn't a carnivore diet really hard on your kidneys and liver??
Thank you to Both of you !!!For the true!
Is Sally 100% carnivore? A friend was saying she added back some plants, but that doesn’t make sense.
While watching this google try to push just eat ads 2x. No no no I won’t go back to dark side.
Yea wtf. The more I look k into eating healthier the more confused I am
We need a new psychological term for “the fear of vegetables” I’m thinking to call it. “Nortonitus”
Phytophobia.
They will eat what you buy!
Check out Carnivore Family's channel. 8 kids! All the best on your journey to health!!! 👍
Thank you Sally and Anthony. I am in the middle of your book, Sally. Thank you for the oxalate education!
I have been saying this for couple of years.
This is so obvious.
Dr Chaffee, are you ok my friend? You are looking tired. Please try and rest.
Thank-you.
Plain baking soda
@Heidishereandthere
Baking soda is an incorrect answer because it has 35mg /100g of oxalate, whereas baking powder has 0mg/100g. According to the Oxalosis & Hyperoxaluria Foundation.
I use boka with nano hydroxyapatate
Plants evolved oxalates and we (animals) evolved counter-measures. But now we're selectively breeding plants with less oxalate.
I see the results of oxilates in the ER every day!!!!
😯
Can you elaborate?
@@notanymore9471I bet it’s kidney stones. I worked in the ER and nothing made grown men cry like stones

Thank you both!
@@specialeeffexx I love beets too 😞
Pure poison!
I ‘read’ today beets have 4x less oxalate availability than spinach🤔
Interesting about cancer cells pulling in 400x glucose than normal cells
Since antibiotics were introduced modt of us can no longer digest oxalate. And the certain bacteria we need will NOT grow back
Everything in moderation..
I heard Sally say the body makes some oxalates using Vitamin C. So what about me drinking my fresh squeezed lemon water everyday?
Hey Doc
It’s ok to only eat burger patties with minimal additives ?
I see they still add some kind of flower to hold them together(tapioca starch)
I bought new type of burger today and contain some types of black pepper, sodium metabisulphite, ascorbic acid, rapeseed oil.
For these i don’t have a percentage but beef it’s 76% of which fat 23%
Is this good?
I also eat fish, butter and raw eggs, bought also some liver
I don’t like cold meat after being cocked;have any ideea why?
Tried pork and don’t like it, specially the fat that make me throw up. I don’t eat chicken for more than 6 months.
Overal i feel better, carnivore for a week, had few days of low energy, followed by one day toilet issues.
Now everything is fine
IS COTTAGE CHEESE A SAFE FOOD ?
So how is it in recorded history people lived to be hundreds of years old when they ate more plants and less meat that was eating plants instead of grains?
Keep researching, the research shows that human life spans shortened when we started eating grains and veg.
Funny ...king Henry the 8th ate almost exclusively meat diet and ended up a wreck...as did most rich people of that era...
@@MrJohnnyseven Henry VIII had a great fondness for pastries and wine.
I really cut off my salad intake about 3 years ago. I feel ALOT better not eating dark leafy greens. And i know i had some ecoli issues from it too .
How quickly do you dump the oxalates on carnivore?
In my case about 18 20 months
I am starting my second year and cannot use seasoning without getting sick.
It really is different for everyone.
Watch the full video in the description you can find the link or at the end of the video, and Dr. Chaffee has another video on this called "getting rid of oxalates" with a black and red thumbnail
I remember they use to tell us to cook dark greens that would good for us. I wonder if cooking destroys the oxolates?
You cannot destroy asbestos with heat!
Spinach it increases the oxalates supposedly
@@prettyblueboxthat's impossible lol. You end up eating more spinach when you Cook it leading to greater oxalate consumption.
I got five on it :) nice choice of backroundmusic for your Affiliate add
I think that people should be careful when establishing what causes otherwise multi-factorial problems. Having studied diet and nutrition for over thirty years, I have seen so many people come out and blame one compound or the other for the gamut of diseases etc.
I would like some more studies before I blame one metabolite again. I've been there done that.
Granted the overloading of diets with processed foods is the main issue for people and not IMO spinach and other green vegetables.
Anthony I have been on carnivore 4 months. I have passed huge amounts of oxilates thru my skin. I didn't know about chocolate and potatoes.
awesome video.
Oxilate dumping

We have known that for years, a lot of the food we eat are not good for us

Sally Norton and the Trouble with Oxalates and other Plant Toxins!
Cheers!
So what is the answer? Organic produce and foods? We will not know if we have this build up?
Meat & eggs , you can use milk if you really want carbs but not optimal, a few months and you'll most likely clear all oxalates out of your tissues
Buy her book. Eat low oxalate vegetables. 🥦 never eat spinach, it’s the most toxic of all.
Organic has nothing to do with it, it's the plant itself - apparently the way a plant protects itself as it grows but DrGundry has explained how certain ways you cook them can remove alot of the problem. I think peeling & boiling a potato is one way
Eat meat and eggs and butter
when it comes to oxalates, its better to take off high oxalate foods (chocolate, spinach, nuts, potato skin) and then slowly reduce the consumption of other foods with oxalates, such as fruits, potato flesh and some plants you enjoy (that are not dangerously high in oxalates). if you just stop cold turkey you get some pretty shitty symptoms for months straight I believe, it's almost like quitting a drug after years of abuse and the drawbacks are extremely bad. It's better to slowly take them off.
have you both had the covid jab?
What are the ones to avoid?
thank you for this video, i find it very interesting about oxalates, and it all makes a lot of sense, but i wondered what you thought about the video that a lady has done on you tube...>>> Goodbye Lupus by Brooke Goldner, ...its called called the oxalates myth,.... she has a group where people go on smoothies to get rid of health problems including lupus , how can this be helping people with health probs when its so bad for the body .
I have Oxalate poisoning from eating vegan and drinking superfood smoothies, spices make me sick. They are not getting healthy just a temporary change, getting off of toxic manufactured foods.
Dr Cywes put out a weird video recently claiming oxalates are not bad? He got a lot of negative feedback in the comments!
He'll come around.
