8:15 The normal Charge does not have Plastic scales, its anodized aluminium almost the same as Victorinox's Alox scales. Very durable, but a bit softer.

Great point! I guess the charge with G10 scales is plastic etc, but the one I have is aluminum.

Yeah. And titanium is heavier than aluminium, so is totally logical that the charge tti is heavier than the regular charge.

@@hvacbudget8600G10 isn’t plastic it’s a special fiberglass. Love my TTi and my orange G10!

I have the older charge tti (with non removable wire cutter if i am not mistaken). The only let down is the tiny scissor. Same as my charge G10+ (orange). Waiting for my arc to arrive and replace the wire cutter with the older version.

I've considered doing that but I fear voiding my warranty.

@@ryanshepherd6457 well, the bad news is that the replacement cutters looked the same as the ones on the Arc. I guess i will have to order some from aliexpress

I have a 2016 and carried it every day since. Mine don’t have the replaceable wire cutters sadly. Now I’m looking at an Arc. Ugh. Shiny new things. Nice overview here!

You are fortunate to be able to obtain one....I think after you refurbish, polish, sharpen & oil the tool, it will be like new, but at the same time having a soft "patina" of use... Do you plan to pocket carry, or use a pouch? Do you know if the LTG has solved the cutter issue?Could you go over the difference between the "good" & "bad" cutters? Good video, thanks!😊

I prefer to pocket carry as I am doing today. I just released a video on Leatherman's cutters but I may go into more detail in the future.

@@hvacbudget8600 Yes, I saw it, but please do a further video if you can...especially to better see the physical difference between the bad & good cutters...What a problem! Many thanks for all your good work this year...May you & yours have a Happy, prosperous New Year! Looking forward to seeing more of your work in '24....Cheers!

The scissors can be sharpened using the Spyderco sharpmaker, along with the serrated and regular blades.

I just sharpen my charge tti scissors with a stone. An occasional touch up. You can reach the edges easily with a stone too so anyone else looking knows.

@hvacbudget8600 yeah description said surge picture was charge tti. I had a surge already but was like well i like the surge so lets give it a shot I think at the time, surges were only maybe 80- 90 bucks? I figured it was a scam to sell a surge, lol. But it turned out to be a charge tti when I opened the box, so I was surprised honestly. It even came with bit kits, clip, sheaths.

All considerations given, I still like the Charge TTi… even my original one without the replaceable cutters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @zippolit4485

I have an older Leatherman charger tti with the older replaceable cutters I sent my in for warranty and I forget to state that the cutters were great just really dirty so they replaced the cutters with the newer type that have the rounded ends. Long story short always fill sentimental value of tool on the warranty form.

I wonder if Mr. Leatherman carries the Ti and Free P4 still or upgraded to the ARC as his daily carry.
