Hi ReeceA010. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. To cover the whole house, you keep moving the projector back until that is achieved. Those projectors are called "short throw" projectors (don't go for an "ultra short throw", as they'll be up too close and distort everything) and are a little harder to find than regular projectors. :)

I’m very curious about the process and wondering if I could make something of my own. You’re the best I’ve seen on here so it would be an honor to learn from you.
Hi Charlie Elias Alexander. Thanks for watching and your super kind words. I have always planned to do a how-to video, but since I barely have time to make the actual Halloween projections, I've never gotten around to actually doing it. However, there are several others that have created tutorials on projection mapping, so there's plenty of info out there. A good place to start is joining the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping". If you do get started with those, I'm always available to answer questions should you evolve into more of the 3D look I'm doing. :)
I haven't done Christmas yet. Primarily because it's not a one-night kinda thing like Halloween, where I can set the projector up in the street and monitor it throughout the evening. I don't have time to do that multiple evening throughout December.
I use After Effects, Photoshop and Cinema4D, but have not done any tutorials. I would suggest you visit LumaBox or Phillips Projections here on RUclips for their very informative introduction-series to Projection Mapping. :)
Hi I will like to do this can I get more information ☺ 🙂 plz thanks you what to buy where to buy and what to do on the projection on the wall .if the house is dark paint what you recommend thanks .
Hi brayden Z. Thank you for watching. I suggest you join the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping", where you can find answers to all your questions. About the dark walls, that is a problem, and can usually only be solved by either: getting a very powerful projector ($$$$) or by re-painting your house. :)
I have been trying to do this for a couple years now, I am now all in for this Halloween. I have been watching your videos for years, thank you for uploading. just need to know your projector model and what sound devices do you use.
Hi JZ. Thank you for watching my projections and your kind words. I’m happy you like them. For this projection, I’m using Optoma’s EH460ST and for the sound I’m using a Behringer EPS500 PA System

Thanks for the kind words! I have been watching your stuff for years. It inspired me to get started. I see so many folks getting into the hobby because of you and a few others that have been doing this for a while. Hopefully, I can speed up my development time. That is the one minus. These projects just take so much time...
@@SeasonedProjections Well, it will get faster every year. The period with trial and error is usually where most of the time is spent, and as experience builds, you will cut down on this. E.g. once I had made the song for this year's projection, the rest took only two weeks. The first couple of years, I was spending months figuring out what worked and what didn't. LOL. :)
How have I not seen this until now!! Glad you dropped on my video as I may have missed it otherwise! Beautiful design and great story telling! Love the 3D work - cinema 4D? I’ve been considering putting myself through a boot camp of unreal engine in January but then I read so much about cinema 4D, but I think unreal may offer me more flexibility on the transitions and effects which exists in my mind 🤯 I’m trying to research the pros and cons before I go full scale time investment on one of them.
Hi Simon. Thank you for watching. RUclips is a jungle and it's easy to miss videos. I do it all the time, and then find unseen Halloween creations 7 month later in the summer time. LOL. Yes, I'm using Cinema4D. I took the time to model my house a few years back, so now I just have to add features (e.g. balconies, windows, doors) each year, that changes the look from previous themes. Super easy and you know the shadows will be realistic because...well, they're real! Before diving into Cinema4D, I'd give Blender a good look. If I was starting from scratch, I'd chose the free path instead of expensive software, but I've already put too many years into Cinema4D to jump ship now. :)
Hi @nathanhepp5017. Thanks for watching. No, it isn't a dumb question at all. I make most of my animations myself in a 3D program called Cinema4D, but there are some creators out there that make animations and sell them: AtmosFX.com and HallowFX.com to name a couple :)
I think I have asked you this before, but do you create all your characters in a 3D modeling program? And if so, which program do you use to model and animate them?
Hi Nate V. Thanks for stopping by and watching. I actually buy the models on various 3D sites and then alter them a little bit. They cost anywhere from $0 to $30. I then animate them in Cinema4D and render them out for assembly in AfterEffects. :)
Hi dinkieminkie roblox. Thanks for stopping by and watching. There are several good tutorials out there on the web, so maybe you could be the one doing it in your neighborhood? :)
Hi gary caruloff. Thanks for stopping by and watching. Projection mapping is when you project a video onto an object - in this case a house - having made the video specifically to fit that object, so it matches the features or shape. That's why my projection won't match any other house, and therefore can't be transferred. If you google "projection mapping tutorial", you'll find several real good explanations on how to get started making your own. :)
Hi Ryan Brown. Thanks for stopping by and watching. This is in principle done with a single projector, but to get a little more light intensity, I actually stack three identical projectors and align them so they each show the same image on top of each other. :)
@@doradelgado3411 Thank you so much for watching. Unfortunately I don't do this for others. Primarily because I don't have the time, but also because the 3D modelling in this, simply does not just transfer to another housemodel, so it would take waaay too much work to redo it, and I would have to charge waaay to much. :)
Hi Marcelles Fazel. Unfortunately, I don't sell my shows. If you're looking for someone to make a projection show for you or your school, you can join the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping". There are several members there that make and sell shows. Good luck. :)
Hi Ruben's Window Tint LLC. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately this is not for sale, as it'll only fit my exact house model. To re-format it to another house shape would require me to start from scratch, and I would have to charge too much for it. :)

Hi Clown town. Thanks for stopping by and watching. No, unfortunately I don't sell the projections. First of all, because all of them includes elements I don't have the rights to re-sell (e.g. from AtmosFX). Secondly, because my projections ONLY fit my house model. Re-fitting it to someone else's house would be very time consuming and will in most cases require a completely new layout. So it would not be worth my time to offer it as a service, even if I would charge money for it. It would be too expensive for you. 😜

Hi Run. Thanks for swinging by and watching. I appreciate it and the kind words. This is not a full time job, and to be honest, I don't think there's much potential in it. @@ProjectThisHouse Admittedly, the one you made in 2019 is my favorite of yours even though it didn't go well with the younger audience, but I know why you took a different direction for future ones. I'll be looking forward to next years projection!
@@Dragon359 Thank you, I also think the 2019 was the best one so far, but the backlash to the stabbing scene definitely shaped my options for the future. LOL.
I LOVE YOUR WORK! I wish we had you in my neighborhood. Miami has lost its zest for spooky season. Any chance you’ll be making any “how to..” videos any time soon?
Will you do this stuff for christmas? beacause you said I recently realized, I don't have to "just" do Halloween projects
I haven't done Christmas yet. Primarily because it's not a one-night kinda thing like Halloween, where I can set the projector up in the street and monitor it throughout the evening. I don't have time to do that multiple evening throughout December.
@@ProjectThisHouse ok understand...
What sofware do you use and can give give me a tutorial please?
I use After Effects, Photoshop and Cinema4D, but have not done any tutorials. I would suggest you visit LumaBox or Phillips Projections here on RUclips for their very informative introduction-series to Projection Mapping. :)
@@ProjectThisHouse I will rather do blender free animation sofware
@@ProjectThisHouse thank you very much for the info
@@jz9631 No problem. I keep my eye out for what you come up with. :)
You guys always do amazing work 😁

Bruh you smashed it again.
Thank you, Gamez WithJamez. I'm happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. :)
You should do it for Christmas too. These show are very cool in person though
Hi @Ronangroves02. Thanks for watching. I wish I had the time to do Christmas too,..and you're right: This is so much more impressive in person because of the scale of it. :)
I love the music! Amazing work. I agree you should copyright the song. I found myself humming it today LOL. Your work is always inspiring. Can't wait to see the next one!
Thank you, Dustin. I really appreciate you swinging by and watching. I just love how the projection community has totally exploded and awesome stuff is popping up everywhere - and yours sit right up there with the best. It certainly keeps me on my toes. :)
I’ve been considering putting myself through a boot camp of unreal engine in January but then I read so much about cinema 4D, but I think unreal may offer me more flexibility on the transitions and effects which exists in my mind 🤯
I’m trying to research the pros and cons before I go full scale time investment on one of them.
Where do you get your animations? Hope this doesn’t sound like a dumb question.
Hi @nathanhepp5017. Thanks for watching. No, it isn't a dumb question at all. I make most of my animations myself in a 3D program called Cinema4D, but there are some creators out there that make animations and sell them: AtmosFX.com and HallowFX.com to name a couple :)
crazy good see you next year 2022 @ProjectThisHouse
Hi Tomato. Geeez...can I get a day off before having to think of next year!?! LOL!! Thank you for watching. I really appreciate it. :)

Incredible job.
Hi Joey Levy. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. I'm happy you enjoyed it. :)
i wish people did these in my area! there always so fun to watch.
Hi dinkieminkie roblox. Thanks for stopping by and watching. There are several good tutorials out there on the web, so maybe you could be the one doing it in your neighborhood? :)
how do you start this process to get my house mapped to get your program installed please
How many projectors do you use out of curiosity?
Hi Ryan Brown. Thanks for stopping by and watching. This is in principle done with a single projector, but to get a little more light intensity, I actually stack three identical projectors and align them so they each show the same image on top of each other. :)
@@ProjectThisHouse good to know, thanks for the response!
@@ryanbrown1835 anytime. :)
Do you customize and sell your videos? I would live something like this for my house
Is it possible to purchase your projections to display on my own home ? I have the projector setup but need someone to make me cool content like this
Hi Marcelles Fazel. Unfortunately, I don't sell my shows. If you're looking for someone to make a projection show for you or your school, you can join the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping". There are several members there that make and sell shows. Good luck. :)
Where can I buy it ?
Hi Ruben's Window Tint LLC. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately this is not for sale, as it'll only fit my exact house model. To re-format it to another house shape would require me to start from scratch, and I would have to charge too much for it. :)
Excited to see your How To videos!
Hi ladynks2000. Thanks for stopping by. I must admit that since 8 years has passed without me finding the time to make even a single How-To video, the prospects do not look good. LOL. However, luckily there are people out there with more energy and drive than me, that have made several really informative videos on the matter. Just google "Projection Mapping Tutorial", and a bunch should show up. :)

Hi Sotyguyholiday. I'm happy the song grew on you and you now like it. :)
I LOVE IT NOW
Love your shows you ever make any for
Others ?
Hi Clown town. Thanks for stopping by and watching. No, unfortunately I don't sell the projections. First of all, because all of them includes elements I don't have the rights to re-sell (e.g. from AtmosFX).
Secondly, because my projections ONLY fit my house model. Re-fitting it to someone else's house would be very time consuming and will in most cases require a completely new layout.
So it would not be worth my time to offer it as a service, even if I would charge money for it. It would be too expensive for you. 😜
Fantastic job!

This was spectacular, planning on doing my second projection mapping this year 2022. Do you share any of your graphics?
Hi JR Mr, thanks for swinging by and watching. I'm happy you liked it. No, I've never shared or sold any graphics elements before, as they're tailor made to fit just my house and would require a lot of work to fit anywhere else. Is there anything specific you're looking for? :)

Hi Misty Harlow. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. :)
I can't believe this is 3000 lumen only, wow.
Hi Nissan. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. This is actually a bit more than 3000 lumens. I moved on from the BenQ 819ST after 2019 and I'm now running Optoma EH460ST with 4200 lumens. I'm actually stacking three of them and lining them up in MadMapper so they all project on top of each other. :)

I'm sure if this isn't their job alreasy... it very well could be a job they would get paid handsomely doing if they wanted it to be.
Hi Run. Thanks for swinging by and watching. I appreciate it and the kind words. This is not a full time job, and to be honest, I don't think there's much potential in it. You can only make so many projections, as each projection video would have to be made the house shape on the order, which takes a lot of time. So no mass production. This would be a small side business at best. :)
