@vedkapur1 Because they used to just work not be some fashion accessory that broke all of the time. That seems to be where Lenovo is moving towards though, and many of those former fans and myself will probably be looking elsewhere in the future.
Lots of wonderful new products imminently coming from Lenovo for 2025! I see that this innovative company is going hard on OLED displays which is absolutely awesome in my view! 1100 nits of peak brightness is truly incredible and I can't wait until Andrew gets his hot little hands on these products into the studio for testing!! Thank you Andrew! 👍😁
All new laptops are amazing specially with the new second series core ultra processors They are more thinner, better single core performance and good battery life..good for consumers
Agree, although it should be a bigger screen. I'm holding on to my X1 Tablet 3rd gen. There is still no tablet with better resolution and more storage (4TB, upgraded) on the market.
Thank you for this. I am buying from lenovo canada now. But the odd thing is it doesn't say 1100 nits display for the thinkpad x9, only the 500 nits. Odd. And it states the yoga 9i 2-in-1 only has a 5mp camera, not 32mp. I think that's an error in the CES spec sheet ( i just got off the call with lenovo US, same people who answer when i call in Canada lol)
I really like the 14" 4k 120Hz OLED on the Slim Pro 9i 14. The display looks bright enough for sunlight and the under display camera is also really good. Out of curiosity, is there a 16" 4k 120Hz OLED as well? Looking forward to seeing them in your studio. Also, I checked Lenovo's website - I think there may be an issue at 3:46 - that screen is 2880 x 1800 max.
I believe there will be. I saw a video from one of Lenovo's RUclips channels about the Yoga Pro 9i 16 (2024), and they mentioned briefly at the end some of the plans for the next model (e.g. implying it will have an OLED display). A lot of the other Lenovo Legion variants were also not shown in this year's CES despite being present last year, so it's possible Lenovo just chose not to feature the Yoga Pro 9i 16 (2025) as well. Additionally, the newly released Nvidia RTX 5000 series GPUs could mean a lot of their laptop lines are still under development or production since the laptop GPUs are released later in the year after the desktop line. I noticed in Andrew's video that none of the laptops shown this year - with the expection of the Legions - came with a designated GPU which is likely why they were ready for the show while a laptop like the new Yoga Pro 9i 16 would not be since it will likely come with one of the new RTX 5000 GPUs.
Some interesting models there. Look forward to seeing your reviews as they appear. I'm completely fine with TrackPoint getting dropped - I've never been a fan and find the nub gets in the way of typing. Though the current plan is to go Framework this year Lenovo would be, likely, the top alternative contender (ThinkPad in particular, maybe Legion).
I'll never understand the obsession with laptops being searingly bright. I don't want it to feel like I'm staring into the center of the sun while I'm trying to get work done
It’s mostly for working in a bright environment, either in sunlight or bright office. Also good for HDR. The main thing is that if ur screen is too bright u can turn it down but if ur screen is too dim u can’t rly force it to make more light….
@@xjcl6469 Right, it's good for a screen to be bright enough under certain circumstances. If that requires 1100 nits though it's probably a good idea to move location imo.
Those laptops exceeded all my expactations, the only thing that I would love to see from Lenovo is --> boxy shaped design like a MacBook one. Are those numbers of Oled's brightness in terms of HDR, or SDR only? If so, is it Tandem Oled? Because those are really high numbers for a Oled sceen...Thanks for reviewing this laptops from Lenovo. Take care.
Can you ask if they are going to have a X1 Fold Gen 2/3 released or are they moving away from that? Also any word on the P16 Gen 3 release date? I know they came out with the P16s Gen 3 but the regular P16 version is on my list. Because if all they have is a thinkpad without a trackpoint, that would be pretty disappointing. It looks nice but just make it a thinkbook, not a thinkpad.
As I can see, all new Lenovo Legions has power port ON THE LEFT. I love ports on the back at most! If we are moving towards Asus Zephyrus series, then lets get rid of numpad as well, at least?
It looks like Space Grey. Similar color to the MacBooks. I just don’t understand why they’d want the laptop to look like the MacBook. Lenovo already make good keyboards to begin with.
Very disappointed to see any Thinkpad without the Trackpoint, I always appreciate using it when one-handed without a mouse. Hopefully, this will be the only model to miss out on it, unless they reconsider. Other than that, I also don't see the appeal of making a super thin machine that then has a bulky block set underneath - I much prefer a flush design, which is also why I strongly dislike the bulky camera solution they've had in the last few models.
You know what I want on my ThinkPad? A 99WH hot-swappable battery. You know what I don't want on my ThinkPad? Meaningless thinness with bad battery life.
The placement of the power button and the function keys on the right side of the keyboard on Yoga 9i 2-in-1 are the worst design ever!! It has been addressed by many users and reviewers for many years and Lenovo just don't care 💅
If you want to copy the MacBook, fine. Just invent a new brand for this. But sticking the ThinkPad name on there, just for the name recognition, is pointless. People who know the ThinkPad will hate this design, and people who don't know the ThinkPad won't care.
@@grukoin2789 maybe, maybe not. The TrackPoint is not something the majority of people uses, but that is no reason to take it away from the people who do use it.

Big mistake getting rid of the iconic track point. Not much use for it these days but I'm sure the diehard fans will still want it. In my opinion, it was what defined IBM and now Lenovo. Getting rid of the track point is like getting rid of your logo/branding.
I hate Lenovo's placement of the power button. I keep on accidentally turning off my laptop every time I lift it up to move around.
You can setting on this path: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings.
That's awesome - I've been excited and wondering since 2022, if there'll be another Yoga Slim 9i!
The X9 without a trackpoint gives me pause, but the arrow keys with different sizes just makes it a hard pass.
ThinkPad X9 without TrackPoint: 🤢🤮
Looks like Lenovo is about to get a lot of hate for this, and rightfully so.
i’m more annoyed about the naming convention. why not call it a thinkbook?
Thinkpad track point designs 🤢
@vedkapur1 ...Then buy a different laptop. Literally any other laptop. Trackpoint fans have been getting the short end of the stick for years now.
@@cameronbosch1213 I don't understand tho why do people like thinkpads the design is so outdated
@vedkapur1 Because they used to just work not be some fashion accessory that broke all of the time.

wish we would get another x12 detachable to compete with the surface. so cool to see the steam os on the legion go.

Hasn't Lenovo offered any AMD variant such as Ryzen 9 9955HX(3D)?
