    Hi,
    Thanks for such an informative video. I tried to find out whether it's an upslip or down slip but unfortunately I can't perform spine to sit test as doing so increase the pain. Id there any other way I can perform the test? As far as which side is concerned my right hip is moved upward and I feel the pain on right side as well. Please advise what should I do. Thanks.

      Hi @j4jameel, if you cannot perform the supine to sit test, you can do a brige and have someone just palpate your iliac crest and ASIS. Then get off the bed and try to assume a long sitting position. If this is quite difficult to do, are you interested in being a part of our segment: "Help you be you" Where are you from?

    Thank you for your videos! One question I have is, how to know if there is an upslip or a downslip? For example, let’s say all pelvic landmarks are higher on the left (iliac crest, ASIS, pubis, greater trochanter), just as you show in your upslip video. That means that all pelvic landmarks are lower on the right. So is that a left upslip or a right downslip? The supine to sit test doesn’t clarify this since with an upslip, the leg on the upslip side is always shorter (in supine and in long sitting); with a downslip, the leg on the downslip side is always longer. So again, I’m not sure how’d you’d tell if there is an upslip or downslip, and manually correcting the wrong thing could cause injury. Any thoughts?

      @therani3d  2 месяца назад

      Hi Kelly, to determine which side has the upslip or downslip, call it based on the symptomatic side. If all pelvic landmarks are higher on the left with left low back/pelvic pain, then it's an upslip. But if the pain is on the right, then it's a downslip. If the pain. If the pain is on both sides, then you will need to perform the manual therapy corrections. Whichever correction results to lesser pain, then that is the dysfunctional side. Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, just message or reach out as these questions your posting are the ones I get all the time from DPT students and other PTs/PTAs.

    I suffer from high hips + unequal length of my feet. What should I do?

    • @therani3d
      @therani3d  4 месяца назад

      The length difference of your feet can be due to either a pelvic malalignment, degenerated hip or knees. There can be a myriad of factors. How did you injure it? Maybe I can help you by posting the appropriate video for you to use to get yourself aligned.

      @@user-sv3vf7qy8c If there is a rise in your right hip, it may be due to a pelvic upslip on that right side. Or, it can also be due to an increase in angle of inclination. Hope this helps. If you do feel either, I can provide you a video for the exercises to do.

    How do I determine if I have a down slip or upslip, because I have uneven hips, but don’t know if it’s a high hip or low hip.

    • @therani3d
      @therani3d  3 месяца назад

      Hi Mike, you can perform the supine to sit test where you lay down and lift your buttocks first. After that, you straighten your legs and have someone be at the end of the table to look for symmetry. An upslip will show leg shortening on that side. After that, you assume a long sitting position, if the leg is still short then you may have an upslip. Downslip is the opposite of that where the leg will be longer in supine and long sitting. Hope this helps.

      Located in Texas, started with an Injury serveral years ago, I jumped over a hurdle in track, and when I landed with one leg, it felt like I broke my back. I couldn’t twist my torso or bend down for a couple days. Ever since, my lower back hurts anytime I do activities like squatting(as well as any leg pressing exercise), running, walking long distance, sitting for long periods, wake up every morning with lower back pain when bending over. I get a pinching nerve sensation in my lower back that burns down my glutes , now I have an anterior pelvic tilt. My left pelvic bone is higher than my right but my hips feel supported when I place a wedge or extra sole under my right foot. And I feel a lot of press on my right foot than my left foot.

      @@uv2393 I may need you to do a forward bending test so I can see what type of scoliotic curve you have since the type of curve can explain why your left shoulder and knee is lower than the right. In a standing position, try to bend on your waist to touch your toes while keeping your knee straight. Then have someone be on your back and observe which side of the back becomes higher, the right or left.
