Mass Effect: The Normandy Theme (Extra Long Extended Version)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 фев 2015
- A wonderful theme from Mass Effect that I wanted to have in my music collection, but I wanted it to be a lot longer as well. So I extended it myself and here it is, an extra long extended version of the Normandy theme.
Hope you guys find a use for this, I know I will. Cheers!
Music from Mass Effect 1 2007, by Bioware
Composer: Jack Wall

"Tali, do you have time to talk?"
"Yes, of course."
"I should go"
"See you later..."
We bang ok?
In russian localization this dialogue translated like :
"Do You need something?"
"I need to go"
@Nabil You need to go back.
"Shepard."
"Wrex."
Grunt... D'oh!
I should go.
I have to go.
I'll talk to you later.
Maybe talk later.
"Equalizing interior pressure with exterior atmosphere, logged the commanding is ashore XO Presley has the deck"
what a relief
Random Ensign: "Thank God..."
Rest In Peace XO Presley. Your dedication to your duty, and the lives you saved in your final minutes will be forever remembered.
I know EDI replaced her, but I still miss the VI and her announcements.
I actually miss those small animation to replace the loading screens... was more... immersive.
Mass Effect 1 had a strong atmosphere and vibe that ME2/ME3 could not recapture. All the ME games are amazing, but there's just something that ME1 has that the other games don't.
It was ambience music and the music in general that mass effect 1 did much better then 2 and 3, it had this type of electric music in some areas that genuinely felt like you were in space compared to mass effect 2 and 3s mainstream action copy music
Mass Effect has far better atmosphere writing and world building. It's sequels were mindless shooter fests that gutted the plot and world building this had set up. Worse nothing they ever did ever came close to what we lost.
@@spartanq7781 ME2 >>>
@@merpleberg False.
@@spartanq7781 not at all
My favorite thing to do is always:
Shepard: “I wanna talk about something else.”
Tali: “Like what?”
Shepard: “I should go”
XD
"Lets talk about how I should go"
Mass effect is a god tier game
they never make games like this :(
The combat is clunky and rough. But the story is great. A remake of this with ME2 or ME3 combat system would be most welcome.
@@Imakeplaylists-in1pw They don't need to go that far just tweak it. That's exactly what they are doing in the remaster.
@@Imakeplaylists-in1pw Clunky and rough, but I find it realistic. Me2 and Me3 is not dynamic enough, I mean who hides behind some stupid shit when they clearly have a melee opening?
@@spartanq7781 have you enjoyed the remaster?
" message coming in, patching it through "
Whoops..
"Commander, this is Admiral Hackett.
I missed that. It gave even the side mission a sense of urgency without it feeling like it was forcing you into it. In the sequels you just stumble into side missions.
BioWare had not one, but TWO perfect opportunities to put this song in the jukebox in Captain's Cabin.
I still remember hearing this soundtrack in the background as Garrus told his story about Dr. Saleon harvesting organs from his patients in the Citadel. Added to the eeriness of the tale.
Bossed up story man. 😇
I remember it with wrex
added to the creepiness was how creepy Dr. Saleon actually looked. He didn't look like a normal Salarian he was all emancipated looked deranged.
@@cjvaye99 it is irony that doc Saleon change his name he introduce himself as doctor Heart
Chakwas: "Yes Commander, is there something you need?"
"I should go"
"Commander"
My goodness, I heard that. Love Dr. Chakwas.
Doctor Chocolates
"Commander."
"We'll talk later Kaiden."
"I'd like that."
Me: xD
And then: "Kaidan: Commander
Shep: Fuck me, Kaidan.
Kaidan: I'd like that :D xD
I still think this should've been on the raidio in Shepard's cabin in the following games
Would be good but I'd never hear it or any other song considering Virmire Ride is ALWAYS on
I think it was on rotation in Mass Effect 2. I faintly remember checking the songs on the sound system, hearing this and going "Eeeeehh."
maybe I'm misremembering things, but I'm confident about this.
It should have been. Unfortunately the later games wanted to not be constrained by the original scifi universe of me1 and decided to blaze their own path and we ended up with generic cliche filled action scifi .
I spent so much time on that ship. Its like a second home
This theme, Vigil, and the Galaxy Map theme are the holy trinity of Mass Effect ambience.
I also like the Citadel: C-Sec Atriumn and Citadel: Upper Wards, Noveria: Port Hanshan - just to name a few.
It was so missing in Mass Effect 2 and 3
Agreed! : )
Yeah seriously WTF! I sooo missed this theme. Made me not wanna spend much time on the Normandy :P
In ME2 they play it for like 5 seconds during the initial cutscene
Agreed 100%
@ PypeR
Well, the wreckage *was* on Alchera.
"You let the rachni queen go? do you have any idea what have you done? how many generation it takes us to go war against them?"
"Three? No... Four?.."
This might as well be the Mass Effect 1 main theme, it has come to embody every feeling I have about that game.
Vigil theme is better
Yea vigil theme is leagues better
I feel like this theme, Vigil, and the Galaxy Map theme are the holy trinity of Mass Effect atmosphere.
@@TheAwesomeDarkNinja the galaxy map theme ❤️❤️❤️❤️
"I should go"
I just finished the Mass Effect 1 for the first time ever in the legendary collection, and this is already nostalgic to me.
I should go.
"Commander, I wanted to thank you"
"I don't have time for this"
You can be a real dick to your crew in this game and only this game. I can't do it especially to Tali. She's done nothing wrong.
Nooo poor garrus :(
I missed that theme so much in me2 and 3, it totally nails the feeling of space exploration, cruising among stars, planets and between galaxies
This brings back amazing memories from the first time I was in the Normandy while playing Mass Effect. Dem feelz!
Now playing Andromeda and every *ucking time I'm on Tempest I am waiting for this theme to kick in but then I remember Shepherd,Liara,Urdnot,Garrus and other team members are already 600 years dead and it hits in feelings :(
Liara is likely still alive due to Asari lifespan. :)
>back in 2010
I knew clicking on this video was going to make me want to play this game again for the twelfth time... Time to boot up the X-Box.
I fucking love this tune. Never have I come across a piece of music that so perfectly reflects the mood of what you're about to encounter. A dark, serious, yet futuristic anthem of command as you drift through space with an increasing sense of urgency.
Whenever i listen to this, i feel like im aboard a space ship
Bruh they even had the fucking Legendary Edition to bring this theme back in the jukebox
It should never have been removed as the Normandy theme to beging with.
Once I was super sick, lying in bed not able to move, with agony inside of my body. This theme was stuck in my head, felt like I was about to die, yet this kept me going
You were a subject to indoctrination, the pure power of Shepardness saved you.
Your soul was telling your body:
"I should go"
Rest in piece, Normandy SR-1...
I love and miss that ship all of the time. Its probably why I play (re-play) Mass Effect 1 so much.
Thanks for making this, this was one of my favourite songs in the game but I always felt that it was too short.
Saren No problem mate, I also loved the original but wanted more. Searched the internet and found some but nothing good enough imo, so I though wth I'll just make it myself.
+Ulfberht can you upload the furniture store theme in ms3 dlc
A nice background music for a NASA space station... or any other agency :P
Would be cool but I doubt they'd do it :P
You never know. For a while, the astronauts on the ISS got woken up by the opening theme to Star Trek: Enterprise playing on the alarm system.
Patrick Schulz Woah that's very cool! Nice to really get them into the spacey mood
They were also awakened by Duran Duran "Is There Something I Should Know" :D A perfect way to start the day
It would be fine for a morning alarm call, but as much as I LOVE the music of all Mass Effect games, having this play in the station 24/7 would eventually drive them damn insane!
can't wait to replay it through enhanced
let us know if it's worth it : )
"Is this some sort of game?!"
"You know it!" * disconnects*
".......That never gets old does it?.."
No it doesn't. Bioware intentionally made them annoying to tempt players to doing it. I really wish we could do that to the non-character The Illusive Man. Besides just at the end.
Normandy SR2 feels lifeless without this.
So the stranger things composer must have been playing a shit ton of mass effect when trying to create the theme of the show
when you're in the show and can only think of ME
I just started watching this show. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who felt this way lol
Synthwave didnt originate in ME. Its been a genre for well over 30 years. But it really started to blow up around 04-05.
how is stragner things btw? Looks like a show I would like. Based on the setting alone.
ToasterNinja it's pretty good! Just finished the first season.
Doc Mitchell “how ya holding up?”
"
I'm commander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the citadel"
"Shepard"
"Wrex"
Repeat 200x
"Shepard"
"Wrex"
I remember starting this game back in 2009 at the behest of my late good friend, after playing an hour or so, I was relatively unimpressed and told him I was going to stop. He insisted. Pleaded even. "Just keep playing it.. trust me".. and I'll forever be grateful.. for once it had it's hooks in, it became the very best gaming experience of my life (still unmatched even today), in no small part to the momentous soundtrack. ❤
i play this while im on the tempest
The fact that you got on the tempest is baffling to me. That tripe is not Mass Effect.
“The council can kiss my ass, I’m entitled to my own opinions” idk why but that quote was so much funnier with this music playing in the background 😂
Nice loop to have playing in the background in ME2 or ME3 while you bop about the SR2 Normady as well.
The original ME trilogy were each a masterpiece in their own right, and I don't think they'll ever be other games like them.
*sounds of Shepard walking on the metal floor*
Underrated Comment
All while awkwardly walking.
Over ten years old... May 2008... I missed...(((
"You're kidding why would anyone want Krogan testicles?"
And so it began, a legend in the halls of story and play, worth remembering for a lifetime.
I am so playing this entire series again when it comes to next gen

I was really just referring xbone backwards compatibility
Its here bro, better get to it if you haven't already.
***** can't find it, how is it called?
All I can relate is the voice of the narrator of those amazing explanations in the game.
It's only been a year since I got into Mass Effect but this already makes me so wistful...
then again it's because Mass Effect 2 and 3 really have nothing to compare to this and the Collector themes and Sovereign's Theme don't make me wistful so much as excited.
Yes.
However I find that the illusive man's theme is pretty good
Haha, how come we end up liking it, to the point of looking for it. Like!. Thanks for uploading it.
god i love this theme from the beginning with that little beat it has from the pauses throughout the song. it really captures the mysteriousness of the galaxy and the fear of chasing saren
If one day I own a spaceship, this theme plays endless. My requirement to the crew: They have to accept this theme xD
AH FINALLY!! I've been wanting this theme to be extended. I still want it to play for longer than this, but it's better than the minute and a half versions I've seen floating around.
Mass Effect is the only game that made the hub sounding like a real war room, to focus, study the next approach and learn. I hear that music I immediately get the serious dialogue mode.
The first 2 Mass Effects will always mean something special to me across all entertainment.
Too bad BioWare didn't include this in ME2's jukebox. And ME3's.
Really felt like this was sorely missing from the next 2 games. I get that it was maybe a bit too much for the tone of them, but maybe a remix would have made it work really well. It just felt so lonely without it.
Everytime I come out of the map screen, I just find myself mimicking a corrupted version of this theme, simply because of how badly it got stuck in my mind/I miss it.
i agree, lack of this tune while roaming the ship was really really felt
Beautiful. Makes me feel nostalgic.
I remember being annoyed they didn't keep this song for the sequel. A wondrous theme to compliment putting around the vast reaches of infinite.
"Looking for supplies?'
Mass Effect soundtrack is so cool and emblematic! ;)
Ive heard this theme long enough it plays in my subconsious as I walk through the house.
[10:47 PM]
Seriously dig this!
THE BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED !!!!
It would be so epic to travel onboard the real SSV Normandy through vastness of the universe among countless stars and planets with that song playing in the background, but sadly this isn't possible 😞😖.
Sure it is. It's happening somewhere in the multiverse.
Until we figure out how to put you there, how much simulation are you willing to accept as a life?
Ready Player One is a good suggestion of how that might work.
Thank you so much!
Np mate! : )
Holy shit, I feel like I'm about to traverse the vast emptiness of space, this is how good this soundtrack is.
Mass Effect 2 and 3 never came close enough to topping the feel of Mass Effect 1.
"Commander, this is Admiral Hackett..."
I love the Normandy soundtrack, you know the one I mean! 🤣😁
So there are at least 2 sad people in the world
It would be so cool being on the real Normandy, cruising among countless planets and stars with that music playing in every part of spaceship ☺️, it really has that feeling of going into unknown, especially from 2:20 on.
Every time I hear grimes genesis it makes me think of this
Esse jogo é apaixonante. Agradeço imensamente todo o pessoal envolvido na produção dessa obra de arte dos games.
Just finished the whole trinity a week ago. Harbinger is already assuming control, making me want to play it all again.
Looking for supplies?
Let's see what you've got.
@@Lajos_Kelemen You bet, Commander.
@@xcab66 "I should go"
This was just a little quirk of my playthrough, but I always imagined that the Quarter Master also doubled as the driver for the Mako. It made sense to me, since on some planets you went into a facility in one end and came out the side and the Mako would suddenly be right outside with you. He's kind of like the 7th squad member, like the 5th Beatle, since you never saw him in action.
I playing this while walking around the Normandy in me2 since the theme isn’t on there
4:35 This is so deep
This music give me a sadness nostalgia when i play my life was a shit except for the happiness to play ME1. In fact this soundtrack is the perfect spacesong i have heard.
Shepard: Do you have time to talk?
Tali: Yes, of course.
Investigate (->) Goodbye
Shepard: *_I should go._*
This game without question has the best Normandy music. It also has the best Normandy design. I can never remember the Normandy music in ME2 even when I'm on a playthrough of it. ME3 doesn't even have any music on the Normandy. Hell in the war room you can hear chatter from Vigil. That absolutely needs to be fixed in the remaster.
I’d fall asleep to this playing in game
I miss the Normandy, but there is one thing I don't miss: the lack of toilets.
I wish this was like an hour long version instead of 7 minutes.
I wish there was a version with the radio chatter in the background while you're on the Combat Information Center.
I like to think this soundtrack is actually playing inside the normandy and it's not just some ost that the game put to give it an atmosphere
This Explains why I had this urge to play Mass Effect 1 as I finally tried to watch Stranger Things....
good music for some tea
End of 2023 here, meaning full 16 (SIXTEEN!) years of technological progress since this game was released. And still, this music is unrivaled when it comes to matching the overall mood and feel of the level. 🎵🪐🌟
I love the cross-over at 4:33.
Im going to get the trilogy on PC and learn the story. The music is actually very good.
Time to visit the requesitions officer
Who wants to place bets that Carpenter’s Halloween theme was a reference track for the main synth arp riff?
Whats your opinion on the last mission?
I hope they bring this theme back on ME4
does anyone have the furniture store theme from ms3 dlc
