Iv had a 2000 model df30 tiller on a 17 ft flat bottom Iv beat the dog 💩 out of on small rivers. Logs, rocks, thick ice and I can’t believe I haven’t killed it. Launched the entire damn boat after hitting a tree wide open on the river and didn’t miss a beat. Great motor

I lived on a Pacific island for a few years and bought an old catamaran with twin 2011 Suzuki 90a’s. The previous owner bought them used and had them shipped out there. The cowlings were beat and I checked the hours. Had the gauges that flashed to tell you the hours, and when I got them the flashes maxed out at 2040 hours plus. Did a basic service on them and those damn things never let me down, and I ran them hard fishing and diving. Cranked every morning, trolled all day, and they always got me home. Sipped fuel too.

I love Suzuki, absolute favorite above all other brands. Have a 175 currently, thank Goodness, never a peep or problem. Looking for a 50 for my next one on a extra boat. My dealer sells Suzuki, Yamaha, and Mercury. He said go Suzuki…I walked into the shop and asked 3 different mechanics in his shop and they all said the same thing. Both Yamaha and Mercury were headaches, their words. I have some experience with those brands and agree. Once you get a Suzuki you will not want anything else. Closest dealer to me is 200 miles away and that was fine with me. Bought it, never been to the shop

My buddy has an 08 or 09 300 Zuke and he has over 3000hrs on it right now and still running charters here in the Chesapeake Bay. Suzuki has gained my trust. To me its Suzuki and Yamaha, and everyone else.

I am going to do 100+ miles down the Neuse river in NC on a DF140 and not worry for a moment! I had a 120 Looper that just refuses to die but I could not wait for the sheer greatness of a 4 stroke motor. 40 years messing with 2 strokes... Never again...lol

Theirs modern four strokes are awesome, absolutely love my DF150. I think the honorable mention should be the old three cylinder, two-stroke DT25c. I’ve got a 1999 with thousands of hours, had to replace a CDI box bout ten years ago. Super dependable, and will run down just about any other 25 hp on the water.

I have a 2015 DF60 which I bought new on my skiff. Basically the same engine you have at #2. Operated in salt 100% of the time. Flushed after every use with dog ears. The shaft collar within the water pump well of the lower unit has eroded away 50%, probably due to salt. Motor operates/runs great. Just don't think the aluminum should be water eroding in an area that is made to have water in it. I've built the collar back up to stock height. Hope it lasts. 101 hours on it.

I've owned a couple Suzuki outboards back in the 2 stroke days and my DT140 was a great engine and the DT150SS ran pretty good aswell.i worked for a large Suzuki Motorcycle shop before I eventually opened up our Dealership.Had to sell Mariner/Merc and a few Yammies due to we had 2 Suzuki outboard shops that were relatively close and one of the owners threw a fit when he found out I was talking with several of the outboard manufacturer's,So Merc it was.We sold the shop back in 04 and although I truly do miss all of the nice customers,I however do not miss the stress and having all the weight on my shoulders keeping everything going.I really enjoy the shop vids Andy, they bring back fond memories.Keep up the good work fellas and I hope your friend Tom wins a few more tournaments,he is a great Brand Ambassador for Team Marine and Suzuki Outboards.

Hello Andy, I really like your videos! Very informative, & entertaining! I believe you know what your talking about and that the Suzuki’s are a very good brand! I had up till this year a 1996 Bayliner 1600 Capri with a 1995 75 hp Mariner motor. Bought all new, bought motor in 96 new and the Bayliner boat & trailer in 97 new. I had my motor put on my old 1967 glass master and the following year got the Bayliner boat & trailer & had the motor put on that one. One of my son’s took the Bayliner package this year. I bought a Stingray 182sc with a Suzuki 90 hp on it last year. It’s a 2020 year model. I put 14 hours on it last year. I got hurt back in March of this year so I have not gotten it to the lake this year. But I have ran it in the yard. Hoping to get it in the water this next summer. Anyway the 90 hp does ok on my boat. Got it up to 40. The same speed as the Bayliner with the 75 hp. It’s a bigger & heavier boat, I probably should have gotten the 115 hp but I got the boat, motor & trailer package out the door for $26000. Brand new. I couldn’t pass it up. It was special ordered and the guy didn’t take it. So that’s why I got it at such a great price. Anyway, just letting you know I really like you videos and content! Great job!👍

I had a 2015 40hp suzuki tiller on a 14ft river boat and absolutely in love with it. I ended up selling it for a bigger boat. The time has come to upgrade again and I will be putting another suzuki on my new boat. Here's my question, is there any difference between 50 and 60 hp suzukis aside from tuning? I'm curious because I was to be slow enough at idle to troll down to 1.8-2.0mph without a bag or bucket.

I know this is an older video, but I'd like your feedback on the Evinrude 70hp 4stroke from 2000 (E70PL4SS), what do you think about it? I believe it's a Suzuki powerhead, but what are the pros and cons, if you worked with that outboard in the past? Just bought one for one hell of a good deal (750$USD), needs a prop and a bit of work on the lower unit (the guy bent the skeg and ripped off a piece of the cavitation plate, but the internals are fine and it spins straight). Basically know nothing about 4 strokes. Repaired a few 2 stroke outboards before (only Johnson/Evinrude, did 1 Merc) Hoping I didn't buy a dud.
Also, do you know of any ways to make it compatible with NMEA2000 or to have it linked to a sonar in another fashion? I bought a center console with no holes in it, would like to remain as clean as possible with only the remote, a sonar, a radio and a cup holder if possible.

Or recommend a Fumoto style valve for their outboards so it's easier and cleaner to change the oil on them like it is on the new Pro XS where you can hook a tube to the plug and drain straight into the bucket without a mess.

How many inch set back hydraulic jackplate is recommended?
I’m asking because I keep hearing different things on “setback” for my length of boat.
Also, my max RPM match the owners manual @ 6000 RPM’S, and with the motor mounted as of now (directly to the stern), I am wide open @ 36mph.
    Thanks

Bob Cox won the New Orleans to St Louis race on the MS River in a Charger Bass Boat back in the 80's. You could just add some miles the that with a Gambler or Champ and a Suzuki

If u get this I was curious. I have 221 champ with 250 yamaha and I always take it to my local shop. Every few years I change the lower unit seals, impeller, and all gaskets. They always charge me 300 bucks. Is that fair price or too high? They do fantastic work, just curious. Thanks

Solid reliable motor but until they revise the gearing we'd steer people to the SHO 200 if performance their number 1 focus
